  8. What you said is an excellent thesis about society;exposure, transparency, other peoples opinion of you - all of these things matter in crating a successful business. Unfortunately this does not necessarily work in favor of everyone who provides superior product or service. For example you could be the best tile setter in the world but if you don't have good people skills and are basically a likable bullshitter you won't get anywhere. I constantly see people succeed in business not because they are good at what they do they are just good at managing spin about themselves. Highly skilled people who are introverts cannot survive in a "who you know and who you blow world". which is what we are amounting to with all this mandatory scrutiny and social connectivity. I don't want people caring about who I am fucking or go snowboarding with as long as I do a good job at work. I totally agree with you that that's the way we are going but if people care about how I am faring as a social being instead of my work then I don't want them as my customer. They can call the better bullshitter instead- and see what they get. Beware of the collateralizing and monetization of your desires. D S #3.1415

  13. hi I have been a long time on line investor I'll start out by saying that it is a very high risk game. I used the word game because stock prices are based on large group psychology and so it is very difficult to predict. $ Amount; my view don't play with any more money than you are willing to loose because unless you follow the market closely in real time or set what are called stops which trade for you automatically you can miss big moves and not sell in time. Broker or self; broker will charge a fee, they may give you advice but it is not necessarily good. I think you are better managing the game yourself. Online brokers; I like E trade but there are many, Ameritrade,Scottrade, Marsco....most have the word trade in it. Most traders suggest starting out with an index fund then work toward individual stocks but whatever you do prepared to be immersed in it as a life long education- there's a lot to learn but in my view it is the most challenging and exciting game there is...that's why I play. The word on the street right now; invest in large companies with low debt, and a dividend between 3 and 6 percent. so called recession defensive stocks ;if you can smoke it, eat it, clean with it,medicate yourself,or drink it.Those are recession proof companies Most important- understand what the company does. cheers. 16. Good point. sadly I have little boogie experience but I do have lots of Lollapalooza mosh pit concert experience and I use to work for Phish on their huge outdoor fest circuit. They had lots of bizarre activities going on at those things, too many actually. I'm sure whatever you do will be fun as long as the main beer ingredient is added. maybe I can actually make some money this year to make it to one of your gigs. 24. Honestly I don't know how you deal with it. I made the mistake of agreeing to accompany a GF to Frederics so she could pick out one of those things- What a production, there were like three walls full of bras... I had to get the hell out of there, I escaped after about 15 minutes because it was what seemed like 4 hours for her to find one that fit, all these friggin shapes and sizes, some were too pointy, or not pointy enough, too stiff, too tight, loose, padding, not enough padding, fit well but wrong color- I thought i was going to go blind.
