Might be some clues in this thread. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.

What you don't seem to understand is how much strength it takes to overcome obstacles in our lives. Some have never had major hurdles in life while others are given mountains to climb. You seem to be one of those that was given much to climb, and so far, you have been vigilant in reaching the peak. Although you feel as though you're not giving all you can with your heart, trust me when I say you're giving far more than you think. As an EMT, paramedic, police officer, and others, you're using your knowledge to better the lives of others. Despite your accident on the 13th of September, from what I've read, you've dedicated countless hours to helping others. I don't see how that could be considered selfish at all. You want to feel as though you've made a difference in society and the lives of others. Trust me- You have. I don't know the details of the accident, but that's why they call it an accident. The happenings that played out on the 13th weren't intentional or planned in any way. That's just the way things worked out. We can't do anything about such things, despite how hard we can try. People always want to find someone to blame for their misfortunes and it sounds like the family of that motorcyclist is no different. Riding a motorcycle is dangerous. Plain and simple. Sometimes it's our actions as riders that put us in danger, sometimes it's not being seen, sometimes it's other drivers on the road, but when we get on that motorcycle, we are accepting that risk. It's the same as exiting that aircraft in skydiving. We know we can die by doing it, but it's an accepted risk we're willing to take for that 60 seconds of pleasure. You can't please everyone in this world. I've learned this the hard way. I lived in 22 houses and 4 different states by the time I was 17. (No, I wasn't a military brat, my mother just seemed to like to move endlessly.) Always being the new kid, I was always needing to make new friends. You can't be friends with everyone. It's just not possible, regardless of how hard you try. Some people are selfcentered enough that they won't be friends with you because of who you're friends with. There will always be someone out there who doesn't like you for some reason or another. Maybe it's because you're too energetic. Maybe because it's because you're too serious. Who knows... But with that, you have to be able to say "srew 'em" and go on with life. You feel responsible for a death that is no one's fault. How many others did you possibly save working as an EMT, nurse, police officer or other profession? How many didn't make it, but you helped keep them alive until family could at least make it down to say goodbye. That alone is something to be proud of. Don't let life's misfortunes make you feel like giving up. Keep doing what you're doing. You may not feel like you're helping out much, but from what I've gathered, you're doing a lot more than you think.

Hmmm good question.... let's count 8 for each time. There's got to be some accountability for those who are really really stupid... So does that mean we go by each occasion for all answers? If so, I better change my to an . Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.

Got a few PM's from a couple people that wanted to do the jump in Elsinore. If you want to do one in Elsinore, come on out on the 16th. I'll be out there. Squeak, I'll still bring your costume on the 16th since I don't know if I'll meet up with you again or not. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. I thought about it overnight... had a couple crazy dreams in there too, but probably from over-using the ol' noodle. (Usually it just sits there and collects dust.) I'm gonna change the date and location to Saturday, January 26th, 2008 at Skydive The Farm. Let me know if this sounds good to everyone. I'd like for everyone who wants to come to be able to make it. If I could get out to the farm that quickly, I would. I will, however, be in Florida in January, and I see no reason we can't do another one. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.

So far, no PM's yet either, but it seems like most that knew Lee were on the eastern side of the country since he jumped at The Farm. If anyone works or jumps regularly at Elsinore, please spread the word. I'd like to get a good video of the jump too. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Also, any ideas you have to add to or to change the jump for the better would be greatly appreciated. Many of you knew him better than I, so feel free to chime in your thoughts/ideas. Guys and gals, I wanna put together a memorial jump for ol' skinny. I know I didn't meet him, but I shared the jokes with him on here as did many. On the 16th of December in Lake Elsinore, CA, I'd like to put together a Shrek big way to say goodbye to a good ol' boy. Let me know if you want to join in or if there's anyone that you know that wants in that doesn't post here on dizzydotcom. Grab yourselves a Shrek costume and head on out. Contact me by PM or post it here. I want to put together a roster to get a rough idea on load organization. You all know I'm low on the jump numbers, so if I need to, I'll arrange for a more skillful load organizer. I just want to do this for Lee and all those who knew him. I guess I'd go with that one if I were still single... But I married a Ranger 13 years ago. Was it the "Lone Ranger"? I noticed he's not around anymore. He only ever did post once on DZ.com...and that was actually me logging in under his screen name... I was more referring to "THE" lone ranger... but that works too, I guess.
