You are sweet Cocheese But c'mon.....I'm an old married lady with two kids! Seriously, thanks for the compliment! (I'm just assuming you weren't talking about Walt) Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

Thanks! It was an awesome jump.

Yes Walt......I know you are kinda hush-hush about your birthday, so consider this an un-birthday thread and get over it. I thought I would start off by posting a picture of you while you were still in your 40's. This pic was taken two-years ago, on your 49th birthday. It was also the day we met (my life has never been the same). We jumped together all day and you never told me it was your birthday. I saw your birthday thread the next day and thought "what a twerp!" Boy did that thought turn out to be accurate! I'll never forget that day. It was my first jump off student status and I was hanging from the strut looking at you, waiting for you to say "GO!" The look on your face when you saw me hanging and staring was absolutely priceless! As well as when you told me I didn't have to wait for anyone to tell me to go anymore. Thanks for being such a great friend and making this sport so awesome for me....even with the ipecac!

Thank you ever so much for posting that....and for bellyflying with me. I know how hard that was for you! It was truly and incredible jump. Thanks also to Wendy Faulkner and Drew Nadig for the beautiful video and stills! Special thanks to Wendy for the fine editing job.....and for making all those dvd's so my family could enjoy it as well. And, thank you God for the amazing sunset! P.S. BillyVance, what am I saying at the end? Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

Well, if you suck at skydiving on the Wii, the screen can just switch the game to either bowling or golf! Yeah, Santa brought my son a Wii, and I'm getting pretty good at bowling. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

Walt makes the best sammiches. I actually named them "Walt Sandwitches". They are as unique as he is. They actually have onion sprouts on them and taste fantastic. But you have to come to Texas if you want one Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

You're right. It's better they hear it from their peers than me. I'm sure his parents wish they would have gotten to their son before someone else did. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

He's alread at that "get away from me stage", but he knew what had happened and was okay with humoring me. I told my son exactly what happened, and I even grilled his neighborhood friends to see if they had ever heard of the game. They hadn't, but I did tell them about it, and talked with their parents as well. It sucks Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

My best friend and I made an awesome jump on Saturday, and as we were walking back from the landing area, he pointed to a patch on his jumpsuit that was made in memory of a skydiver we lost last March. When he told me that SkinnyShrek had it made, it just gave me goosebumps. What a man.....I know he will be missed. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

It very well might have been. If that was the case, I doubt it will be made public. I did hear that there had been signs during the last few months that something wasn't right. Unfortunately no one put 2 and 2 together until it was too late. I've been hugging and squeezing on my son since I found out about it. He actually begged me to go skydiving yesterday Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

Who has heard/played or known someone who has played this awful game? I had heard about it only recently through the media, but it hit home in a big way recently. My husband's college roommate lost his twelve year old son to that game. They found him in his room with a computer cord around his neck. It is heart-breaking. I've read that this is not new, but I had never heard of anything like it until recently. My husband and I are devastated, so I can't even imagine what our friends are going through. Geez it's been a tragic year for so many people Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

I got one jump in yesterday after not jumping for over a month (that kills me). It was my uncle's memorial jump, and we had a beautiful sunset for it. Sheesh, too many memorial jumps these days Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

Man, it's too bad he's driving home from Austin right now and doesn't have access to a computer. That's hilarious. P.S. Please don't give him any ideas Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

I am a full-time mother of two boys, ages 5 and 9. I homeschool both of them, and I'm also currently pursuing a degree/certification in American Sign Language. Yep, an occasional jump out of a plane does me good. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

Lee and I PM'd a few times recently when he was planning a trip to Texas. Due to some other sad circumstances, the trip didn't come to fruition. It's crystal clear to me what a wonderful opportunity I missed out on. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
