WatchYourStep replied to WatchYourStep's topic in Photography and Video
Thanks DSE. I'll send it in tomorrow. If you recall what other Sony's are the same size as the 42 please let me know. I should have just purchased a 2nd one when I purchased the 1st one. I'll look on ebay as well. Thanks "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. How do you find out what date you are getting yours? "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."

After the last poll I decided I'm going to get a helmet. I really like Bonehead stuff so should I get the Gunner or the Mindwarp? If you jump these what are the pros and cons? If you choose other please tell me what you jump and why. Thanks "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. What should I do??? Camera broke...help please

I have a Rawa helmet so the box is set-up specifically for the camera. This past weekend I got error 31:42 on the camera. I did a search and found a few ways to fix it but none of them are a guaranteed fix and I'd hate for this to happen while in the air with a paying student. Sony wants $211 flat fee to fix it, has anyone had good luck with their repair department? In the meantime I guess I'll buy a back-up. Anyone know where I can find a HC-42 or another Sony that is the same size??? Or should I just scrap it get a new helmet and new camera? I'm guessing if I get a different camera other than a HC42 I'll have to get a new helmet as well since I use a Rawa. Any suggestions??? Got this error today while doing the prejump interview. Grabbed my friends camera and finished it up. Any idea what this is? I did a search and the only thread I found dealt with C31:32. I have an HC-42. Looks like this is a good reason to get a backup camera. Anyone know where I can get and HC-42? Thanks "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."

I guess I'd like to jump without a helmet for the same reason some people like to jump without shoes, to feel the wind. I'm not going to, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to. I was just wondering what everybody was wearing and why. Why a hard helmet over a frap hat, etc. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. Well I took the TICC this past week with Jay Stokes at Skydive 35, more to come about that later. Saturday (if the weather holds) will be my first day of taking real students!!!!! At my DZ 2 of the TIs wear frap hats and one of them wears a soft hat that covers her ears. Similar to this Clicky What do you guys wear and why? I'd really like to jump without anything but have heard those risers slaps can be brutal so I want to protect my ears. 0:21:?? 5 FF jumps at Skydive Dallas, excellent time. 1 RW jump at Skydive Dallas...um not as good... 6 tandem jumps with Jay Stokes 4 tandem jumps with Jeff Hawk 1 Cat. D dive with Jay Stokes 3 jumps videoing Terry who was also in the TICC 1 jump with a RW jumper. He had a cutaway, he flew home and I followed the main and reserve bag down and brought it all back. Beer owed for at least getting my TI endorsement plus I'm sure for other stuff as well... "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. What the heck, weekend #'s, April 12-13th
WatchYourStep replied to JohnMitchell's topic in The Bonfire
0:0:70 No jumps this weekend because I had regattas on Saturday and Sunday. It was windy and cold in the midwest anyways. My kids brought home 70 medals between Saturday and Sunday (38 were gold) so as a coach I'm very happy. TI Course this coming weekend so I'm really excited!! 2:4:1 2 video jumps 2 non-paid fun jumps Great weekend. Beer owed for first jumps on new canopy. 2 more weeks until my TI class!!!! Matthew- Does your Michigan suit have booties? Some of the TIs have booties on their jumpsuits and love them. They've had tandem jumpsuits without them and really like having them now. Just to clarify the booties are on the instructors' jumpsuits not the students. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. Hopefully the poll makes sense... To elaborate a little: Option 1: You have a jumpsuit that you only wear for tandems. You don't wear it for FF or RW or camera. It is solely worn on tandem skydives Option 2: Yes you do wear a jumpsuit as a tandem instructor but it's the same jumpsuit you would wear on your normal skydives as well. (ie your FF suit or RW suit) Option 3 and 4: Fairly obvious. If you put down other please let me know what you are using. I know the TI build (short, tall, skinny, heavy) may make a difference here as well as how big or small your student is, but in general. Edited for clarification on Option 4. Yeah Ken I saw that. I'll be coming back from Louisiana so I probably won't make it. I'll just hit SDD on the way home. It's not too far off the path. Yes they were there the last few times. I jumped with them on two days and they were very nice. I'd like to do some freeflying though if possible. I'm passing through and plan on stopping to make some jumps. If you pull up and see a 45 foot trailer with 50+ foot long boats that says "Kansas Crew" on the side then I'm there. So anyone going to be around to play? "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. Wow the last three trips I've made to Skydive Dallas have been awesome. 10-14 jumps each day. Easy to get with new people, bummer you had a bad experience. To be honest I don't think I had much luck with email but when I called Sherri either answered or returned my call promptly. Some people just aren't big on email. I'm glad I called because I love the suit. It's built very well. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience.
