  1. MODERATOR: Can you move my post to the Photography Section? Thanks. Thanks again for the input. Hindsight being 20/20 this should have been posted in the photography section. Sorry I'm probably going to end up going with the Elph anyway. I want a small camera. Something I can just put in my pocket and go. That rules out 6 megapixel cameras for under $300. If anyone has an ultracompact camera and would care to weigh in, thanks. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 2. Thanks for all the help. Sometimes I don't shop around enough. Now I'm having 2nd thoughts on an ultracompact camera. Several of the reviews say the LCD screen isn't covered under warranty. I want a light portable on the go camera and I thought the Elph was the one. I guess I'll have to rethink my decision. 3. I'm getting ready to finally break down and buy a digital camera. This is for rec use only and not for skydiving pictures. I was sure I wanted a Canon Elph that was 4 megapixels. The place I was going to buy it sells it for 331. When I went in the guy said check out this Canon Elph that is on sale. The 3.2 megapixel model is normally 260, but now it is on sale for $200. Do I save $130 and get the 3.2 megapixel camera or do I pony up the extra cash and get the 4 megapixel. Any advice is greatly appreciated. 4. My government teacher Ray Kovar said this to me once and I almost lost it. He had some classic phrases. He spoke very slowly in a very low voice with almost a southern twang. "Jeremy you wouldn't be pulling my leg would ya? Because I got another one and I might kick you in the head with it." 5. Once I was riding with an open face helmet and caught a cigarette from a car in the cheek. Ever since then it's been full face all the time. 6. His chute opens super fast Thanks for the post. You just made my afternoon at work much more productive. Dom Portwood: Hello, Peter. What's happening? We need to talk about your TPS reports. Peter Gibbons: Yeah. The coversheet. I know, I know. Uh, Bill talked to me about it. Dom Portwood: Yeah. Uh, did you get that memo? Peter Gibbons: Yeah. I got the memo. And I understand the policy. The problem is, I just forgot this one time. And I've already taken care of it so it's not even a problem anymore. Dom Portwood: Yeah. It's just that we're putting new coversheets on all the TPS reports *before* they go out now. So if you could just remember to do that from now on, that'd be great. All right! 7. Hands down youi need to wear a DOT or SNELL approved helmet. Here are a few stats of a survey that was done between 1990-1999. Helmet use among fatally injured motorcyclists was below 50 percent According to the report, from 1990 through 1999, there were a total of 11,038 fatal single vehicle motorcycle crashes. During that same time period, there were an estimated 294,000 non-fatal single vehicle motorcycle crashes. It comes back to risk vs reward. I've been riding for a fair amount of time and over 95% of my close calls have been related to the driver of a car or truck not paying attention to their surroundings. If you haven't rode 2 up before (as a passenger). Remember that a passenger on a bike has responsibilities as well. Just sitting their and looking pretty is the easy part. Make sure your driver gives you an overview of what to do with your hands, head, hips, balance, etc. I won't let anybody on my bike until they put on a lid, even if they don't like it. Have fun. Motorcycles are a blast. It's kind of like jumping without an altimeter, AAD, or reserve. You can do it and be fine, but if you ever need it and you don't have it your in trouble. 9. Eule- Congratulations! I hope you keep with it. I didn't get any jumps in this weekend due to weather, but that means I get to do 3 or 4 this next weekend. Isn't it an amazing feeling? I know exactly what you are talking about. I hope I never lose this feeling. It makes the work week go a lot quicker when you have something to look forward to. 10. Man I left myself open for that one. Where I'm from you would get a 'swish' instead a 'zing'. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  11. This morning I was watching ESPN and they showed the routine highlights from this weekend. At the Pocono 500 this guy did a demo jump in. He landed on the track and bit it. They didn't show anything else and I only saw it once. Did anyone else see it? Can any people with more experience tell me what may have caused the fall? It looked like he was coming in pretty fast, but then again I only saw it once. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 12. Good luck tomorrow. I'm just north of you in Kansas. You gotta love the weather in the midwest. Hopefully for both of us the weather clears up for tomorrow. 13. I'm sure this is a newb question, but I did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for. How much does a tunnel cost to build? No I'm not thinking about getting one or anything like that, but was just wondering. Thanks "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 16. Anyone want to play some Halo 2 tonight at 9pm CST? I'll be online. My name is KansasCrew It's because I coach Crew at the University of Kansas. Even if you can't play tonight send me a friend request. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 17. It's not a picture of my bike, but one off of Yamaha's website. That is the color of bike I purchased. So the picture is and isn't my bike. I wanted the black originally, but after seeing them side by the side the red looked so much better. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 18. That sucks. ifall- Thanks. It is a blast. I shopped around for about 3 months before I settled on one, and I'm glad this is the one I got. 19. I'll check it out when I get home from work. That site is blocked on our server. Thanks "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience up before your bag of luck runs out."
  20. No offense taken by asking my experience. I started out on a little Honda 50 when I was 10. Then when I turned 16 I started riding my dad's Honda Sabre, then I got my own Honda 450. It was a step down in power but it was a nice looking little bike. After that I got an old school Suzuki 1000 and now this. By no means do I plan on trying anything like this out on the street. Riding wheelies has never interested me before, but I've got an itch now that I want to scratch. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. 21. Thanks for the suggestions. I never do anything even remotely daring with a passenger or without my leathers. I think my biggest thing is I shift before I give the bike enough time to get into its real powerband. I can't get myself to just romp the throttle. I'm still getting comfy with the bike. I've only got 3000 miles on this one and never tried to ride wheelies on my past bikes, but they had the juice. I just want a little lift nothing super. I'll keep you posted. 22. If so what do you ride? I've got a 2005 Yamaha R1. It is a beast of a machine. Anyone have any tips for wheelie riding? I'm just starting to mess around in 1st gear and find the right spot to bring it up. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience.
