    A good chunk of that money was used for a SWAT team in nice tacticool gear with camouflage outfits to train at schools for exactly this scenario....

    One of the parents was put in cuffs and detained for urging law enforcement to do something. When she convinced the cops to let her free, she jumped the fence and got into the school and got her kids out. She was able to do that cause cops were too busy pepper spraying parents. Uvalde spends 40% of their city budget on policing AND the school board has an extensive safety plan. The shooter spent 12 minutes outside shooting before getting into the school. 12 Minutes in a state with some of the laxest gun laws and highest gun ownership. Then it took 1 hour to get enough competent people together to neutralize 1 inexperienced teenager. Then the Republican and Libertarian brainpower tells us that the only answer to all of this is to stop the democrats' gay agenda and build schools with one door which can only be attended by kids with gun racks in their trucks.

    Well the two recent shootings we have been discussing are Billy killing his family and a teenager shooting up an elementary school...not sure how high school kids with a gun rack in their truck were going to stop that...today.

    Magazine capacity for magazines designed for semi-automatic centre fire rifles and shotguns however are regulated and ownership of magazines exceeding that restriction are a criminal offence. Rifles deemed to be of the AR15 platform are currently sort of prohibited.

    you are ignoring the part about how much more frequently it happens in the US and how many more innocent people ARE getting killed. Mass shootings are exceedingly rare in Canada and the rest of the Western world. Look, you feel that you being able to easily acquire all kinds of firearms and carry them all over the place is "Freedom". Billy's kids paid for that "freedom". Those innocent little kids in Texas paid with their lives for that "freedom". Is that really what "freedom" is? Is making sure that little kids have to fear for their lives and go through active shooter drills really the type of country your Founding Fathers had in mind?

    It is nowhere near the gun violence in the US. Mass shootings are exceedingly rare. Gun regulations are a hot mess, but I agree with the gist of them. Biggest problem is guns being smuggled into Canada from the US. Innocent people getting shot is also rare, majority of gun crime is criminal on criminal.

    How many firearms are manufactured commercially in the world and how many are 3d printed or otherwise manufactured non-commercially? My guess it is like 99.9% commercial, but let's be generous and make it 99.5% commercial. I wonder how rounding works on 99.5....does that go to 100 or to 99?

    Well if it is up to Ted Cruz they would start building schools with only 1 door. That is what the Republican brain thrust can come up with, buildings with hundreds of people with 1 way in and out.......

    The shooting was still going on when the cops were unwilling to engage and go inside. If the argument is that they need to get organized in order to respond effectively, then that also means that arming the population to try and end these mass shootings is a bullshit argument. If those who are trained to end these types of incidents need 40 minutes to get organized before reacting, then it is absolutely asinine to argue that arming the population will help.

    And the cops stood outside for about 40 minutes and let it happen while threatening to taser parents who wanted to go in and try and save their children.
