  1. Great come to my home dz, great view, I am sure even goose would agree with that..... www.skydiveburnaby.com
  2. Congratulations Michele, it is totally awesome..... I hope some one will capture it and put in on the web, since I don't get ESPN here in the great "white" north.......
  3. I never said I didn't necessarily agree with TK. But, that is not what the issue was. Here is a whuffo, looking to get into skydiving and the response he gets from a respectable and knowledgable person in this sport is just an off handed hurtful remark. In the end there might be a possibility for this guy to skydive, it may be in a restricted form, but it might be possible. All he wanted was some help in trying to fulfill a dream........ Phree, I know where you are coming from, but the issue really is not whether or not it would be expensive or the disciplines he could get into are limited. The question was one of feasibility.
  4. Hey Lisa, As you know I have already send you a donation, but I am pretty sure an additional donation can be made.......
  5. And people who don't have anything sensible to say should not post on this particular forum......
  6. Wooohoooo anotehr canuck on dz.com pretty soon we will have these yankees beat
  7. skymut, I think you hit the nail right on its head. I think that most of us enjoy feeling loved and hence when we feel that our life partners love something else more than they love you, that hurts. I think that if you would ask my fiancee what she dislikes most about skydiving, her response would be alone those lines.
  8. Funny, I was thinking the same thing. Hey Fallingfast dude, if you consider yourself to be in a meaningful relationship in the scenario you described....good for you....but you may discover that in life not everybody agrees with you. Yeah, I mean who would want to live with love..........
  9. Thanks, it should be noted though that I have always been a bit of a masochist
  10. Exactly, and I have two things that I am equally as passionate about....it is an amazing feeling......
  11. Hey smiley, Happy you are ok.......... I was in that movie too....Planet of the Apes.......didn't even have to wear a costume, just had to take my shirt off....bwaaahhhahahahahha
  12. Exactly, now what if you had a compelling enough reason to net dedicate your whole life to skydiving......now what if that compelling reason was a woman you loved........ I know you'll say that in your case that is impossible.....but maybe you could consider that with other people that might be a possibility.......
  13. I wasn't aware that they allowed marriage to sheep these days.
  14. Wow, that sounds like Pat's speech before he got married. Y'all remember Pat? oh... that's right you probably wouldn't, he hasn't been to the DZ in about 4 years. DOH! Right and only skydivers who get married to whuffos say that they will do certain things and then not do what they have said they will.........
  15. Right Clay, so you can walk away from skydiving in 30 seconds and never think about it again........ Exactly I didn't think so.....once again, please don't spout off these overly simplistic statements.....
  16. Stuff like that always makes me laugh. Now sit down and really think about it....your life is already being dictated to you. It is being dictated by the allmighty dollar.....please don't try throwing in these overly simplistic statements......
  17. Well, isn't this an interesting thread. I am about to get married to a complete whuffo. Actually to be more correct, she absolutely hates skydiving. That being said, she loves me and she understands the pleasure I get from it. So we, and here comes the ugly word, compromise...... I'll go jumpin on Saturday, but not party all night, get drunk and go home at 1 am. I'll have a beer after jumping and go home to spend time with her. Maybe I'll even not jump on Sunday so we can spend time together. I think that in a loving relationship compromise is a healthy and not so difficult thing. I truly enjoy spending time with her, so not jumping for a day is not a complete sacrifice. Maybe I don't sound like a true skydiver, but we are all individuals. I love skydiving, ut I also love my fiancee. Personally I think there is a future for both.........
  18. July 8, 2001 at Skydive Toronto Inc. up at New Lowell, Ontario. Did 4 static line jumps there. Then moved to Skydive Burnaby and progressed in their Tandem Accelerated Freefall program early this year....
  19. I think I may have to chase you out of the plane next time and practice my sit power docking techniques.............
  20. yeah I certainly signed up for a helicopter jump....can't wait. Have always wanted to do one. We will certainly do another two way this weekend. But try and keep up this time....I have no time for you floaters..........
  21. Would love to hear more about that........ For me 0:8:more than I care to mention Met Rachill, pippy and pop at the Canadian Freefly Festival. Did a two way sit with pop and later with Rachill...great fun.... I will let them tell the stories when they return.....but I certainly do believe a dz.com record needs to be added........
  22. Hey Goose, Just looked at your profile...wonder if you are the Nick I did a 2 way sit with? You should have told me you wree on dz.com....they did put a canadian dz.com record together....but I will let the texas contigent talk about that when they get back. Sadly they pulledme from it since I only have 40 jumps and the regional st&a and the dzo wouldn't let me go on a 7 way hybrid....... damn canadian a license restrictions........ See you next weekend... Justin aka SkyDekker

I really do like the idea of having a tunnel freefall competition in the Olympics. But I do have some negative feelings with it as well. In my mind, the jumping out of a plane and the having to save your own life are very integral parts of freefall, parts you would take away in your suggestion. Second, what if it becomes hugely popular? What have we achieved then? It is not entirely unconceivable that should it be a grand success, skydiving as we know it might change. No more jumping out off planes, only jumping into the tunnel. So, you win this competition and you get your great endorsement. If it really is an outstanding endorsement from a big company, I can almost ensure you that there will be a limiting clause in the contract. One that will state that he can spend time in the tunnel, but don't think about jumping out of a plane. I think the sport of skydiving is best served by not going mainstream. Just remember that going mainstream will most certainly mean that many more rules will have to be adhered too...... just my $0.02
  24. great to see you back on the boards Drew...I ams ure you will be jumping again soon!!!!!!!!!
  25. great....see you friday after 3 or so.........
