that is awesome......

and then there are a fair amount of non-americans who post to this forum.
-
Yes it is necessary. Second, it would not be overstating the obvious, but proving an idea you are presenting.
-
A statement like that just shows the ignorance many people feel the US has. Just by the mere fact that the news is being gatherred and reported by human beings precludes the fair and balanced. Hence, you look for multiple sources from multiple countries to get a fair and balanced view for yourself.
-
congratulations Pablo
-
Chris, I really think you should try and get information from more sources than just the American news, whether it is ABC, CBS, CNN or Fox. You will find that things are being reported much differently in many other countries.
-
But how some are speaking here, that would not serve the purpose, cause it would result in a newbie to ehar all the discussions his instructors are having, just as Tonto is telling a new skydiver he is not allowed to hear them. So how do you get around this? Open the forum only to rating holders? Who is going to administer that? Every country has a different system with different ratings. If you open it to everybody, now you are just adding one more forum, with many more threads that get moved and many threads that will not be read, because things are getting to confusing for people who do not have hours per day to check all the different forums.

can a big guy skydive safely?
SkyDekker replied to justin84's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Justin, you need to go and get your license ASAP it is of the utmost importance. JFields and myself just set the Justin-Way world record a couple of weeks ago with a two way. Once you are licensed, we will most certainly turn that into a threeway. See, you haven't even started yet, and you ahve already been invited unto a world record jump. Go for it!!!!!!!! Justin -
I know you will be fine. You are a strong, intelligent woman with great hugs Good luck and enjoy the trip, it will be the end and the begining all in one drive.....

as usual I am late with birthday greetings, but happy birthday Mary.

yup...that's him

absolutely

Sad, but cery true indeed. So, let's see if we can investigate the accidental shooting, see if we can learn from it and if better training programs can be developed if possible. Personally, I think that is a better reaction than: Shit happens and the life of the US soldier is worth more than the journalist or Iraqi civilian anyways.

right, so am I to assume that you really have fucked sheep? Cause you certainly seem to talk about it much. With your reasoning, since you talk about it and discuss it, you really have fucked sheep. Speaking of waisting bandwith........

really, then read again. I agree with you, hence they embedded they embedded the reporters so they could more closely control the information flow. The did NOT embedd the reporters to protect them. That is what all I said. I did not say let them run free, I did not say they should be allowed to just report whatever they wanted, etc etc. So, where was I implying that?

I am a quick learner

Turns out Dana gets a bit........confrontational I guess is the word to use...........when drunk
-
yup at my home dz, well till everybody was fed up with his traveling partner and they left a week later....
-
That is not what I said, nor implied, nor was it the original point. You claimed that the press was embedded so they could get protected, would not get killed and therefore no bad press. I stated that I thought that was pretty naive to think? So, where did I say or imply that press should roam freely and report whatever they want? Hence, I would leave the word stupid out of the thread
-
Once again, that was not the stated objective for this war and hence an absolutely mute argument. Freeing the country of a terribly evil dictator was a side product. Pretty lame to be claiming that as a major victory after the fact.
-
You may have been in the military Clay, but you were obviously not on the information control and public relations side. I think protecting the reporters was pretty much the last item on the list of reasons for embedding them. Pretty naive to think that was the main reason....
-
I knowthat this is the popular argument in the US these days. You do realize however that prior to the war starting this was not a stated objective. The US did not decide it went in for "Humanitartian reasons" until after they discovered they could not find any weapons of mass destruction. So, please drop the rewriting of history attempts and try and stick with facts. If the US would not have gone behind the backs of the UN, in all likelihood this attck would not have happened. Your comment about the French is inapropriate, offensive and has no basis in fact. It just shows ignorance.
-
How could it be a mess Mark? I thought it was the right thing to do? I thought the majority of people in the US wanted this war? That the majority of the US population backed the war and thought it was justified? I thought Bush had it all right and the US coalition of the willing won the war and were going to "design" a new government for the liberated people of Iraq?
-
huh? Are you sure it was me? I never slept during the day and not much during the night. I was usually one of the first dz.commers to be jumping in the morning. So I am not sure what you are talking about
-
Thanks betsy, it was great meeting and jumping with you as well. I am sure, I will make sure it happens again
