  1. Iraq looks pretty destroyed to me....and that is due to the voices in the head of your president. You don't think that is scary?
  2. That is just in this round of tit-for-tat bull shit. Nobody seems to be able to answer who started all of this to begin with (not just this latest round) The whole, but they started it argument, is really only valid if it isn't in a string of long incidents where nobody can remember what the original incident was.....
  3. They did attack one of your naval ships and killed a couple though....but when it is your ally you accept the apologies and just chalk it up to a mistake. If it is your enemy, well then obviously it is an act of war.
  4. Actually I did. I said I agreed that it happens in those fields as well... Absolutely, cause the need is the greatest there. I didn't think the oath spoke about best lifestyle, I am pretty sure the ethical thing to do would be to locate in an area where the need is the greatest, not where the lifestyle might be better suited to your personal taste. Plus, less lucrative sales visits in remote areas....
  5. Right and the people who attacked you claim that the US has been targeting them for years....
  6. Exactly and Hezbollah is doing the same thing (not that I agree with it on eitehr side)
  7. Since the US throughout history has supported many terrorist groups, I am assuming you then also have no problem with other parties doing this to the USA? US civilians generally support their country. The government just says they are freedom fighters they are financing and arming. We all know that one person's freedom fighter is another person's terrorist. So, with your reasoning targeting civilian Americans would be perfectly acceptable. I guess you aren't too upset about 9/11 then either? You know, the whole goose and gander thing.....
  8. Isn't that the supposed group behind the threat...or the ideology behind the treat? Like communism was behind the whole nuclear 30 minute threat. So, we understand that group is doing the threatening, but what is the threat?
  9. All of whom? Arabs? Muslims? Brown coloured people?
  10. I think the playing field needs to be changed for any of these things to change with it. Both sides need to have the same weaponry and training posibilities. All backed by equally "deep-pocketed" nations. Or, Israel should "down-size" its military might and fire the same rockets Hezbollah fires and not use its airforce or much of its armoured fleet etc. I don't agree with what Hezbollah does, but can understand the tactics based on differences in available arsenal. Personally I think all sides are fighting dirty and the only available discussion is really along the lines of grades in fighting dirty. Maybe Hezbollah fights dirtier than Israel, but that certainly doesn't mean that Israel isn't doing anything dirty....
  11. That was the stated threat during the Cold War. Not using extremes at all. If you are convinced the current threat is even greater, then what exactly is this greater threat?
  12. so, this current enemy you are fighting can wipe the US off the map in 30 minutes with their nuclear weapons?
  13. so, where are you reading these reports?
  14. Okay, help me out with your reasoning here. You claim Batista would have been overthrown because there were a lot of people who didn't like him. Then you claim that even more people don't like Castro, but in a couple of decades he has not been overthrown. Your reasoning makes no sense. Shouldn't you be even angrier at the US? Didn't they help or at least fund that "revolution"?
  15. nope brought it up as an example. In a way they tend to be "greedy" by necessity, since they are well into debt.
  16. Different standards in different countries, some do suck, some don't. The US embargo is not in place because Cuba follows communism. China does as well and the US certainly has no problem whatsoever dealing with them. Would you advocate completely removing the tourist industry from Cuba?
  17. Are you claiming there are no families in Cuba with 2 or 3 cars?
  18. Since he is already the 7th richest dictator in the world (I'll just believe you on this stat) can't he already purchase those advanced weapons? As I understand it, the money floating around the Cuban economy for a large part comes from the tourism industry, this does benefit the average Cuban. The US would be a huge source of tourists. Would that not also mean that there would be more money available for the average Cuban? (I understand Castro would make more money too, but surely as a proud Cuban you care about your fellow Cubans?)
  19. I have never been to Cuba and certainly don't pretend to be an expert. Nice assumption though, reflects on the rest of your reasoning skills used.... My understanding is though, that Cubans definitely benefit from the tourism industry from countries other than the US. I have no doubt Castro is very rich, many leaders of countries are. I still don't see how the embargo is helping the average Cuban though. It certainly hasn't helped to bring Castro's regime to an end....
  20. So, let me get this straight.....you have never been to Cuba...ever in your life...but you claim to be an expert on what Cubans in Cuba think and do? On top of that you think that restricting trade and restricting the amount of money ordinary Cubans can make is good for those Cubans? That's a pretty communistic line of thinking.....
  21. Never mind the airstrikes after a promised 48 hour lay off in Southern Lebanon. Looks like they can't be trusted. I don't see Israel's behaviour to be much different from Hezbollah's behaviour. Israel seems to have no problem targeting and killing innocent civilians....they just say: oops, sorry we really didn't mean that.
  22. Nope, but it does happen quite a bit. Up in Canada we notice it quite frequently. Couple of examples: They get educated and trained in Canada (cheaper) but quickly find a job in the US because....they can make more money. (same goes for nurses). Example number 2: It is next to impossible to get doctors to go to remote areas of Canada. One of the main reasons....yup you guessed it, they don't make as much money.....I don't blame them for it, just get sick and tired when I hear the holier than thou comments. I grew up around hospitals and doctors and it was incredible to see what pharmaceutical companies were giving away as incentives. Emphasis mine. Happy to hear they are NOW doing that. Certainly hasn't always been like that. Right, regardless of whether long term it might be better to look a little deeper for the patient....there is a reason hospitals like to see a fast flow of patients through their doors.....more patients in a day is more money made. Hospitals are a business in the end.
  23. After spending the amount of money most doctors have spent to become doctors, I have less faith in their oath and more faith in their desire to make the money back. I have always wondered why north-american doctors are so quick to write prescriptions, rather than truly trying to find the underlying problem. The difference I have noticed between european doctors and north-american doctors is that in Europe more time was spent in trying to find the problem as opposed to just treating the symptoms. I wonder if the "lunches" are more expensive and abundent in north-america. Try not paying your Doctor's or dentist bills and see how long they stay "ethical". People put too much trust in their doctors. When wa sthe last time the majority of people asked why a Dr prescribed a certain brand name and not another brand name of the same drug? Most people wouldn't even know that they could. If you think doctors and pharmaceutical companies don't take advantage of that, you are kidding yourself....
  24. There is no doubt about that. I think the question is how he became the strongest candidate
