    You yourself have stated that gun laws DO stop criminals. You yourself have stated that you believe that laws allowing concealed carry stop or at least lower criminal activity. (If you meant something more specific than just general gun laws, maybe you should have reflected that in your poll) Speaking of intelligent dabate... It goes towards the availability issue I then highlighted after that. gun control advocates claim that when you lower the availability of guns, you lower the number of "illegally obtained guns" as well. It is harder to steal "legal guns" when there are far fewer places to steal them from. Which lead to: They will still get what is available indeed. Gun control advocates generally agree with that. Less guns available, less gun crime is what they would say. Not an ellimination of crime. But, you would have to agree that a drive by knifing would likely result in fewer deaths than a drive by shooting.

    Has it ever occured to you that your version of a better world might not be the same as some one else's version of a better world? Invading Iraq has been a prime example. Not everybody wants to live like an American.

    So, you agree that your chart has absolutely no bearing on total gun deaths or the effectiveness of the gun restrictions in Australia. Why exactly did you post it then?

    And what does the trend of fatal gun accidents tell you about the overall trend in gun deaths? Is this your display of logic and the proper use of facts?

    It is just hard to keep track of wether you are using gun accidents or gun deaths stats. You seem to be intermingling both, drawing conclusions about gun deaths based on gun accident stats etc etc. here is a slight example: You are using a stat on gun accidents to make a point about gun fatalities? At the same time you are berating other people for not using logic or stats correctly, talking about objectivity and facts? JR if you want other people to use logic and facts, you may want to first start using it yourself.

    Damn, that's funny. The whole post you talk about your graph regarding gun accidents and then all of a sudden you call it a long term study in gun fatalities. While at the same time maintaining you are not using snippets. Are you sure your real job isn't stand up comedy?

    I didn't say the incidents are the same. Said that the notion of using incidents from long time ago as justification of behaviour now is the same on both sides of the argument.

    Invade Iran, public outcry in the US, declare Martial Law to maintain rule in the US. Suspend any upcoming elections and until all wars are complete to ensure that the effort is not undermined. Now let me go put my tinfoil hat back on.....
