Obviously not. However in this case there doesn't appear to be much question regarding the mental state of the shooter. Keep in mind there is no inherent right to firearms in The Netherlands. There are very significant restrictions on firearms. This all started with a sarcastic comment you made regarding gun control. My comment was that it was indeed gun control the Dutch were looking at regarding this incident. Specifically how a known mental patient was allowed to legally keep his guns, in Holland. I was keeping this discussion to Holland. It would seem that certain US gun afficionados start frothing at the mouth when they see the words gun and control in the same sentence, regardless of country or context.

A sherrif is elected right? So, we have a politician making claims, generally denied even by those in the same position. His sources are unnamed, just positions are given..... Are you sure you are not agreeing with him bacuse it fits with your own outrage?
-
Right, except clearly in a different category than what kallend was talking about, which makes the whole point you are trying to make moot.

Why aren't soldiers in a country at war armed? -
Don't you have a birth certificate to worry about?

So, if mental patients should not have guns, isn't the issue why this mental patient was allowed to legally keep his guns? That doesn't answer the question. Known mental patient with psychosis, schizophrenia, suicidal with at east one attempt. Should he be allowed to keep his guns?

This whole issue is so funny. How can a country take itself seriously when a small group of idiots, promoted by a multiple-bankruptcy tv reality person, convinced a much larger part of the country to be stupid. Thankfully it's not like the country is in some serious trouble and should focus on matters slightly more important.....

At least those young muslim men wait till they are offered 72 of them....

No Damnit, I'm MAD. I will not file my tax return in the US this year!!! Take that you bastards!

I think the article handles that concern quite well. It doesn't matter if we can or cannot attribute it directly. The fact he allowed to get himself into that situation was enough.

How often do you believe the federal government?

President George W. Bush Launches the 4% Project

Sounds like you claim the knowledge but shrug the responsibility. Weak. -
My position is that the FAA lists them in the same category as powered parachutes. The more you keep denying that, the funnier it gets, and the more delusional you appear.

Because when he was released he wasn't a violent criminal.

Uhmm, they did. And provided free treatment and free medication. He stopped going for treatment and stopped taking the medication. As I have stated a couple of times before, we are passed that issue. This thread is a pretty clear indication you believe mental patients should still have rights to guns. His mental issues were known, under free treatment, with free medication. What do you think would be the proper solution at this point? (Keep in mind there is no constitutional right to bear arms in The Netherlands) Or is the occasional mass murder just the price to pay?

Even if true, this would not make the organization not non-partisan. -
This part of the conversation started with somebody complaining that the US has the second highest corporate tax rates in the world, second only to Japan according to that poster. These examples were laid out to show the effective tax rate for the largest corporations is nothing like that.

The FAA doesn't have the "planes" you listed in the same category as powered parachutes? You are delusional.
-
Ahh, you thought commingling a stupid question with a serious question would get you valuable answers....
-
You really think somebody left a battle situation and wished they had run out of ammo? How do you see that side of the question?
-
And that choice would still not be the same as the choice of wanting something.

DaVinci, the issue was a mental patient retaining legal rights to guns and that the Dutch were examining that subject with regards to this shooting at a Dutch mall. You have since construed that as me blaming the object and have requested I explain to you the mindset of a mental patient. He was prescribed medication for schizophrenia, psychosis and he was suffering from hallucinations. He stopped taking those medications roughly 7 months ago. He further took presciption sleeping pills and anti depressants. He had been under the care of a pshychiatrist and had been hospitalized for drug overdoses and attempted suicide. You may think some body in that mental state should be legally allowed to own guns. I don't.
