  1. Thank you for acknowledging, even though backhanded, that governments frequently use tax payer money to advertise and promote private business in their jurisdictions. I understand the backhandedness though, it does blow holes in your earlier posts.
  2. Maybe he had tweeted something.... http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/British-Tourists-Denied-US-Entry-Twitter-Comments-Customs-Border-Protection-138364904.html
  3. How about trade missions. Are those criminal abuse? How about advertising for tourism in state or county. Is that criminal abuse too?
  4. Who's making the popcorn? Mohammed Finkelstein.
  5. I think many people would agree that a major role of government is to stimulate investment. The federal government does it at a national level, state governments at state level and county and municipal governments at the local level. How that is done can certainly be questioned, and there have certainly been enough bad ways that it has been done. But, I really don't see how you can advocate that government should stay out of that completely.
  6. This story has to be false. A Kenyan muslim communist would never support gay marriage.
  7. There are very few people who chose their entertainment based on political ideology. Your premise is flawed. We get that you are happy that somebody who is in favour of Obama is not having as much success as before. However, if you took a couple of your braincells and think this situation through, you would understand that numbers for the Oprah show had been dropping for quite some time. Even prior to Obama running for President. This drop in viewership ensured that she could not renew her contract with the network. Why you ask? Because her remuneration would have been significantly lower due to her decreasing performance. Hence, renewing the contract was not an option, and OWN was therefor created out of necessity. However, with her deline already at a steady pace, the success of that network has been in doubt from the beginning.
  8. Who is she? Oprah doesn't have $330m in this deal.
  9. The problem is that majority stock holders are NOT getting screwed. Majority of stock is owned by companies, with highly remunerated executives.
  10. Suspended players don't make money. No money means no union dues.
  11. Good news, very litle dog shit on teh streets now....much improved from 15 years ago, that's for sure....
  12. Do you mean McSorley on Brashear? Brashear had a long career of busting heads and dirty hits after taking that stick to the head. By the way, that incident did end up in court in BC. it ended McSorley's "career" in the NHL. Brashear went on to fight in MMA after his NHL career ended.
  13. That's insane. It is clear that the true democrats sniffed out this fake and had him "removed". If it really was the right-wing, they would have used a black guy, followed with some trayvon martin tweets and blamed Al Sharpton. Everybody knows that.
  14. That's because LIEberals are all gun-o-phobes, so once he had switched, he had all these gun free victims to go after. Clearly he was a closet conservetard in sheep's clothing, hunting for LIEberal, gun-o-phobe victims!
  15. Everything in life is a business, doesn't take away potential importance or significance. I ahve had exposure to both NFL and european soccer fans. The level of commitment from some European soccer fans is quite extraordinary.
  16. Especially with a rig. Or a bike. Or skis. Or... yeah it's pretty good all round Spent at least a couple of weeks per year there from say 1978 to the mid 90's, beautiful area!
  17. If you are going to call her a bitch, at least do it somewhere she can respond.
  18. Because from a big picture, big business, running a country type of perspective, that is exactly what you are: a commodity. One that needs to be replenished either through breeding or through immigration. If you want to feel special, maybe you are better suited to be a liberal?
  19. I agree wholeheartedly. I was referring to the seed money that put the Fascists in Italy and the NSDAP in Germany on the map. In the early '30s, Communists were ascendant in Italy as they were in various other countries. Their platform of absorbing the Vatican into Italy proper and redistributing its wealth was viewed, quite correctly, as a threat to the Church. A Devil's bargain was struck, in which a great deal of money (reportedly 100,000,000 gold Marks or equivalent) was supplied to the parties committed to the demise of Communism. This influx of cash was pivotal to the ascendance of the Fascisti & NSDAP, who were then supported by anyone wishing to do business in those countries. FWIW, many of the people who either supported or tolerated the Third Reich considered many of their unbelievable excesses to be simply unbelievable - until disbelief was no longer possible. The propaganda films showing how humane was their treatment of people being "relocated" were not to convince their detractors, but to reassure their supporters that they were too "civilized" to be suspected of barbarity. Would that that was the case. BSBD, Winsor Agreed! Thanks for the added explanation.
  20. The Interlaken area of the Alps is hard to beat.
  21. Only ominous if this committee has any actual power to affect change within the company.
  22. What happens when a company outgrows itself? There is a forced contraction or eradication. In "country" terms: wars, unrest, illnesses, migration, etc.
