Isn't patriotism in its simplest form blind faith in your country.

That's just because you have already decided to be obtuse.

I am agreeing that the weapon's efficiency is the limiting factor in how many people are getting killed. Then I am stating that the limiting factor is more driven by the ease at which a perpetrator can get their hands on weapons etc etc. You stated that the psyche is involved with a person's ability to commit murder. I agree. You also agreed that this influence is probably reduced by the distance involved. This incident somewhat proves that. The boy had access to knives and a cross bow. He chose the cross bow, likely because it prevented him from having to stab some one, which would have been harder psychologically.

Hillary furious as thousands of Americans send cigars to her office
SkyDekker replied to Driver1's topic in Speakers Corner
Quite frankly that is your assumption. Not saying you are necessarily wrong, but you simply don't know if that was her reasoning at the time. It is probably the reasoning that alligns best with your opinion of her. If I donate a dollar to the wounded warrior project for every person that tells a rape victim she deserved it, am I doing a pretty decent thing? Not sure why you are adding that, never claimed any different. Unless you are trying to say it is fine "cause Johnny did it to"? -

I am not a big Hillary fan, yet sending her reminders of her husband's misdeeds seems like a pretty low thing to do. -
Agreed, a much bigger limiting factor is the ease with which a perpetrator can get their hands on the weapon that allows them to kill within their psychological make up/training. This boy had access to cross bow and knife easily. Yet, he chose the cross bow. As you have asserted, there is a rather large question if this murder would have taken place if all he had easy access to was a knife.

And if they start ISIS Inc. they'll get corporate welfare, like other big corporations, so they can pay $millions in bonuses to their execs. As Long as they are indoctrinated to vote liberal, Obama would welcome it. All those Wall St. CEOs - definitely pillars of the liberal establishment. You are so astute. ...and we have things like this... http://www.model1sales.com/ Chuck And ISIS Inc. can take a tax deduction for them. No! We need something to defend ourselves with down here on the border. Chuck Agreed I figured you had already joined at least one militia.... so move out there Mr MilitiaMan .... go patrol the north bank of the Rio-not-so-Grande. I hear ISIS is just across the river....... are you willing to protect the Texican Homeland??? We don' need no stinkin' militia! Chuck Until we do. Mind your cache! Chuck I'm just curious to see what happens if we keep "quoting" this entire post... Turtle's original comment that started the string seems to get smaller and smaller...My theory is that if it disappears, it will create a vortex and suck SC into oblivion... ...and would we all go with it? Chuck Would that be the Rapture? The Tribulation starts with the ISIS invasion. Then Jesus appears and .... Yeah, until he doesn't http://cdn.agilitycms.com/first-canadian-place/stores/Food/mucho-burrito-500x500.jpg Thank you for that Canadian content. Burritos are Canadian, eh? Wrong border. That picture is of a Mucho Burrito food court unit inside First Canadian Place, which is a rather large office tower in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Second, Mucho Burrito is owned by the MTY Group, a Canadian public company traded on the TSX, which by the way isn't far from abovementioned First Canadian Place. Wrong again.

No, Cheney was absolutely correct: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BEsZMvrq-I Interesting that he said that while Bill Clinton was in office. Then again, this was before 9/11... Remind us what Iraq had to do with 9/11 again? My memory is a bit fussy on that subject... It was the perfect excuse to funnel billions into the "defence" industry. So what it killed thousands, it fueled capitalism. Now those 4 that died in Benghazi is a disgrace. It didn't result in additional funding for "defence".

Pfff, who cares. We all know that freedom is calculated based guns. If I can own guns and take them wherever I want, there is freedom. If our federal police agency invents science to incarcerate and kill people....who cares, cause guns. If my government constantly snoops on me....who cares, cause guns. Repeat ad nauseum.
-
The point is simple: The pro-gun crowd in the US perceives any negativity towards guns as an immediate attack on freedom. Killing is generally negative, so when anybody mentiones that guns are quite effective at killing, there is an immediate reaction to try and downplay that assertion. The reaction is so ingrained, it is very similar to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=pthhpQU1-dQ#t=6

How loud is the bang of a cross bow? When quiet is needed, or when limited penetration of a projectile is needed, there are almost unlimited uses. So every soldier in the US military is trained on the use of cross bows? Or is it maybe more in the realm of 1 out of every 50,000 or more? Unbelievable how hard of a time people have admitting that a gun is efficient at killing people, that is the reason most people carry is for defensive purposes. It is also the reason it is so often used for offensive purposes.

I have been told that an armed society is a polite society. If it is so polite, why do Americans keep killing eachother at alarming rates. it's just because it's not armed ENOUGH! Duh - its obvious isn't it?! (What's worrying is that there are people on this forum who are actually dumb enough to think that's true.) Can you prove otherwise?, See, it must be true!
-
WHat is lost in all of this is that the FBI basically manufactured new science to help get LEO and prosecutors convictions. Nobody will go to jail over this. A government agency invented science to help put innocent people in jail, to kill innocent people, yet there will be no repercussions. Crime labs answer to prosecutors. In same cases crime labs are compensated based on the number of convictions they get. So much for that freedom....

What???? The Tea Bag Nation is not on board with this???

Love the irony in the first link. Telling them how dumb they are for a spelling mistake, while making a grammar mistake. -
Where he initially grew up in when to school, yes. Once he moved to Toronto and the neighbourhoods he says he lived in, no. I didn't get that. WHat I got is that he found he get's asked that question significantly more often than white people get asked that question, based solely on t6eh colour of his skin. Regardless of that, it is indeed but the viewpoint of one person. To me it highlighted how a lot of small things can escalate into a much larger thing. Just look at what is happening on this forum. Many Americans posting here are so tired of little snipes taken at their country that they get very upset. Now imagine that happening in real life, on a personal level.
-
You ever wonder why minorities tend to over-represent in gang culture? Why? Being over-represented in those who are living below the povertly line has something to do with it. (No it isn't the only reason)

You couldn't play ignorant American more if you tried.

You're still confused about the timeline. Britain was no longer a target when the US entered the war, and American logistical assistance up to that point was bought and paid for. Never mind that many businesses and banks had no problem doing business with the Nazis at the same time. They weren't helping anybody, they were just making money. Now the conveniently forget that they "helped" the nazis, but they like to play up how much they "helped" the British.

Lol, unless you started the thread your comment is not the original comment. So if some one started the drifitng.... Then what is your point, that it is still hard to kill if you don't have the right mindset...agreed, and a gun makes that easier to do. Less messy than sticking the knife in or connecting the bat to the skull. lol
-
Lol, no that's what you did with your original comment. Once people have made up their minds that they are going to kill, the gun is a pretty efficient weapon to do so. Sure we can all think of some pretty scenarios where another type of weapon is more efficient. But, there is a reason why pretty much all militaries around the world outfit their soldiers with guns in stead of cross bows, or pipebombs or etc etc. All that additional weaponry tends to be on top of the firearm, not in stead of the firearm. I'll never understand why people will argue that they need a gun for self defence, but then refuse to admit it is a pretty efficient weapon to kill some one with.
-
So would you say that in more situations the gun is more efficient or the bow and arrow? If the answer is the bow and arrow, why has your military leadership been so stupid for all these years? Shouldn't you at least hire somewhat capable members in the officers rank?
-
I took away from it that when you feel needlessly harassed on a continuous basis, you start to feel resentment. I can understand that at some point that resentment boils over.
-
You ever wonder why minorities tend to over-represent in gang culture? I think you may find it hard to address one without addressing the other.
