Sadly, this has been exactly my suspicion. This is not a new trick. It's a rather old one. I understand that this is a common approach with rabbits (dudes who runs from police). A peep mouthing off or spitting will also result in the perp kissing the grill. A dog ran in the road and I braked hard. This one was a van. Handcuffed. A nice sudden stop to teach the kid a lesson about respect and shutting up. He flies head first and learns a powerful lesson. This is old shit that has been going on for decades. Yup Baltimore has paid out I believe more than $10 million dollars due to injuries sustained during rough rides, nickle rides, or whatever you want to call them. In those cases they only paralyzed them, so nobody cared. Now they killed somebody. Oopsie. Baltimore police is known for roughing up the people they deal with. They have had to disband a whole team of over 200 officers because it was so violent and corrupt. Most of those continue to be employed though.

1. I would be surprised Baltimore carries insurance for this. In most cases large municipalities are selfinsured. 2. In the article are quite a few cases of jury/judge awarded amounts. Even mentioned quite a few times that state law limits awards to $200,000 max against municipalities. Apparently Baltimore police was quite fond of "rough rides". Once you have arrested the suspect, you handcuf him and then put him in the back of the van. You then conveniently "forget" to do up a seatbelt. Hilarity ensues when you take some sharp turns, sudden stops and quick accelerations. Baltimore Police has already admitted he was transported without seatbelts against policy.... Edited to add: They also stopped to shackle his legs. Once again they "forgot" to do up his seatbelt.

Positive Consequences of the Hobby Lobby Ruling
SkyDekker replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
Warren Buffet uses that same reasoning for increased taxes on the very wealthy. Unfortunately he gets made fun of. I strongly agree with you. -
Not at all what that means...... In this case you're correct. Anyone who watched NDT's show knows that he's constantly challenging the human tendency to believe and defend religious mythology and dismiss scientific method and evidence. That quote is just his distillation of his overall opinion in that general regard. That's right, I got your back against SkyDekker. Pigs will now fly. Thanks for the explanation. Helps when people use quotes out of contaxt.

"I am a climate skeptic who believes in global warming"
SkyDekker replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
You may change your mind when you consider the science settled, but that doesn't mean that the science is settled when you change your mind. Says the guy who will consider science settled when he changes his mind. -
Where did I say they're gorillas? I said THE black gorillas are teaming up with the Crips and the Bloods, and even linked to the article. Here I will show you again. ***Police officials announced Monday they had received a “credible threat” that rival members of the murderous Bloods, Crips and Black Guerrilla Family street gangs “have entered into a partnership to take out law enforcement officers.” But that wont matter you liberals are on a roll today getting away with labeling, and out right calling people racists. So you are making a point about the black guerillas while posting a picture of monkeys and refering to them as gorillas all while claiming you aren't racist. Priceless.

"I am a climate skeptic who believes in global warming"
SkyDekker replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
No, that is not what I asked. -
Wow you and Andy are on a fucking roll today, you must know all the mods are in the Bahamas on vacation or something. I guess you reap what you sow. Post pictures comparing black people to monkeys and well, face it you feel a little superior.

Translation: I have made up my mind and no fact will ever change it. -
So do you condone the riots also Mr. Mayor? I don't believe that is what the mayor said, nor intended to say. Her explanation that providing space for protests also provided space for riots is much more plausible. Guess you condone police brutality, as long as they beat up "monkeys" right, Mr Supremacist.

Yup. Fails to mention how cops investigate complaints against cops. Funny enough when those cops investigate their buddies, they often find there is no merit to any complaint. Interesting that when it goes to trial, all of a sudden the complaints have merit according to juries. http://data.baltimoresun.com/news/police-settlements/ But that was a nice little propaganda piece, very Sharpton like.
-
lol that's a nice way to put down other people. Oh, you have a strong feeling, well obviously that means you are wrong. What a crock of shit. (Now this will reaction will just confirm to you that you are right) LMAO

Just like not all people in Baltimore, not all people in the affected neighbourhoods, not all black people, not all black people in those neighbourhoods etc etc riot or loot. And not all cops are bad, looks like in Baltimore they had divisions and sections that were pretty bad. Though Baltimore police decided to just not track it... This article is from 2014: http://data.baltimoresun.com/news/police-settlements/ I guess that is bullshit intell too.

Uhm no, I am trying to understand when you would think the science is settled. But after some soundbites you seem to be running out of "explanations".
-
For which theory? Not sure what this means, can you expand? Really? That would just be an observation, how would that settle science?
-
What would indicate that the science is settled?
-
Hard to break all their backs though....

I must have misunderstood one of your earlier posts. You seemed to indicate that a woman should be able to get an abortion without even having a discussion with the doctor performing the procedure. There is nothing else to implement. It already exists, it has existed ever since abortions have been legal and performed by licensed doctors.
-
The woman who can chose to go to a different health care provider if she doesn't like the questions asked. As usual an opposing viewpoint in SC is seen as a vote in favour of the other side. WHich is bullshit. I didn't indicate I agree with legislating a waiting period. Though malpractice suits have already established that a doctor needs to discuss a procedure with the patient. It would also be considered common decency.
-
Who said anything about a law forcing this? In the end it is lawyers who will get rich if the doctor never has a discussion with the woman regarding possible side effects. Not discussing side effects of an abortion would be a pretty clear breach of duty owed. Now add some injury and damages as a result of the injury and Doc is paying. Of course the doctor has a duty to discuss the abortion with the patient.
-
So is that science settled? The science that Duke University used. Why is that more settled than the science indicating something different? Why is that science not yet settled? Your "belief" in science seems to be based on whether you agree with the executive summary.
-
Like any medical procedure, the doctor does have an obligation to explain the procedure and possible side-effects etc. I agree that the decision in the end should be solely made by the woman. I don't agree that a woman should just be able to walk into a clinic and demand an abortion without any questions asked. That would simply be bad health care.

Using wind, solar, water and CO2 to make diesel

Is your argument that because climate changed in the past without the influence of man, man cannot have an influence on climate?

So money is more important that the dignity of the US flag?
