  1. Yup, the easy availability south of us increases availability north of the border.
  2. What about all the other ones? You stand front of the line demanding proof when it suits you and then become very dismissive when it is asked of you. Trump supporter, plain hypocrite or just making up shit?
  3. By the time his suspension (without pay) is over, he will be too old to be able to run again. So, he is removed. My understanding is that this mandatory age limit is up for a vote prior to the end of his term.
  4. Because that required a unanimous decision.
  5. in the last year, did everyone forget what citation means? All over I see people put up uncited 'facts' to make assertions.
  6. Cite? Define "high tech equipment". Cite? Cite? Define "routinely".
  7. Please cite. If based on your own opinions, provide proof of your qualifications.
  8. My aunt is a police officer in The Netherlands. And my uncle is the Messiah. Sheesh - in the last year, did everyone forget what citation means? All over I see people put up uncited 'facts' to make assertions. And if you think its stupid, then why did you attempt to make an argument based on it? I wasn't making an argument, I was having a conversation. You must be real fun at a party, demanding proof as part of every conversation. I can't offer you proof, just let you know where I got the information. You can do with it what you want. I am not offended either way.
  9. As you know mental conditions are not always readily recognizable. Second, there argument on this website generally is that a gun is just an object and that fear of this object makes one rather stupid. Maybe for you, but as I have indicated in at least some other countries the sequence of events you list may not be enough for deadly force.
  10. My aunt is a police officer in The Netherlands. Why would it be on me to counter it? Did I indicate I prefer the Dutch regulations over US or Canadian regulations? Personally I think shooting to aim is indeed ridiculously stupid and had a long discussion about it at some point with my aunt. But it is still what is required of them.
  11. So you still pay your subscription to Blaze TV. Isn't that media? Should you stop listening to them too? Are many people in the US this retarded?
  12. You should probably look into it further. It doesn't stand up to reason. I would hope Canada doesn't intend to sacrifice cops and citizens due to a lack of common knowledge about guns. A person holding a gun can turn and fire it multiple times before you can react, let alone stop the threat. That person represents a clear and present danger. It's very clearly demonstrated on a range - I witnessed a good example at a defensive shooting class. So if you choose to wait, you're are taking a risk. So a LEO faced with a person committing a criminal act (whether or not smoking weed should be, it is in NC) holding a gun can reasonably presume that person doesn't want to be arrested and will use force to prevent it. Obviously the scenario would change with that book story line, but it's quickly fading as plausible. In The Netherlands officers are required to try and aim to wound in stead of kill. The whole question is around where you "slide the line" on the risk continuum. In the US that line is much, much closer to the LEO. In many other countries that line is much further removed.
  13. San Francisco had 52 murders in 2015. To date they have 34, which puts them on pace for 45 to 46 for 2016. That is a 13% reduction in murders. I guess it then quite clearly shows that when you remove guns your number of murders goes down. At least under the logic you are using here.
  14. Interesting. In Canada I am relatively sure that holding a gun and refusing to drop it is not enough grounds for deadly force. I think the perpetrator would actually have to start pointing it at people. We tend not to allow executions for simply holding objects, there has to be an action associated with it.
  15. Yup build a wall and not let anybody out and make American pay for it.
  16. How is it anybody's fault those people are too lazy to work? If they wanted more money, they should just work harder. I mean everybody in the US gets the same opportunity right from the start, right?
  17. For people like you it is yes. Actually - for every one it is. You do know the alphabet don't you? You know how a dictionary works, right. I don't see how you could dispute that fact. Yup, just like asshole is between ass and racist in the dictionary. Retard is between asshole and xenophobe. Turtle is well after intelligent. All facts you cannot dispute.
  18. Officers getting killed on the job is tragic and I certainly hope those who criminally cause it go to jail for it. I also think a construction worker dying on the job is tragic. One is called a hero, the other is never even reflected on. Both died on the job, understanding what the risks of their profession are.
  19. I don't understand what you mean. What I am getting at is this. Most progressive liberals posting here can only make a point by relying on the whim of shifting current statistics and YouTube videos. They lack a personal center point. Says the guy who just posted a Youtube link. And the speech is full of statement, but absolutely devoid of any plans of how he is going to achieve those statements.
  20. My brother is a detective.....he makes less that 45k a year with over 20 years service. FWIW I realize in some big city's the pay is better but over all the pay for local small departments isn't high at all. As far as you local police brutality....I'm sorry Base salary for a Toronto Police officer is around $100,000 CAD Ontario Provincial Police base after 3 years is $90,000 CAD Smaller town: Regina police: after 5 years $100,000 CAD These are all base salaries, pension and full benefits are additional. All of them can retire after 25 years with a pension equal to the average of their 5 best years of earning. Pension is fully indexed against inflation.
  21. I agree with your summary. In order to fix something, the parties involved have to agree there is a problem first. Then there has to be some agreement on what the actual problem is. So far, from what I have seen, LEO indicates there is no real problem. Just a one off here or there. On top of that there are many people who likely agree with this idiot, who also happens to be a Trump Campaign Chair in Ohio: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/sep/22/trump-ohio-campaign-chair-no-racism-before-obama?CMP=twt_gu
  22. Considering these riots are supposedly taking place in the business district of Charlotte I doubt this is true here. For people like you it is yes.
  23. The problem is that it isn't dealt with. None of those officers will get more than a reprimand. Hardly ever is an officer charged and convicted after helping fabricate stories, corroborating stories they know to be false, helping "brothers" who they know have committed a crime etc etc etc.
