  1. Of course Trump complained about this Electoral College when Obama won the last election.
  2. Not too often I say that I agree with Palin, but in this case I do.
  3. Please..... Winter is coming is your excuse? That is so Game of Thrones...you watch way too much TV.
  4. Undoubtedly true. The markets love federal money. Tax dollars for jobs will be well received. Billionaires in cabinet ensuring protection for Wall Street will be very well received. A cabinet of Billionaires and Generals by the guy who has people convinced he is going to look out for the common man. Interesting times. Personally I have concerns with a cabinet run by billionaires and generals, but ymmv.
  5. Well if Mexico isn't happy, that is obviously the most important thing.
  6. Why should one voluntary group association be different from any other? Because one donates money to one group and... uh...oh...never mind. Donations to many religious groups are voluntarily. Membership dues to a medical association are not. One is a belief structure. The other an association of people whose job should be grounded in science, not belief. I see more differences than similarities, but am not surprised many here do not.
  7. I am not supporting the recount, at all. Just wondering why you don't support it? As stated before, you have previously strongly maintained that laws had to be enacted just because their might be voter fraud, all evidence to the contrary.
  8. Absolutely true. I am quite sure that Price doesn't agree with every position outlined by that organization. Though his paid membership which he chooses to maintain raises some question IMHO.
  9. And those who cannot prove they are in the US legally will have to pay for the body to be expatriated.
  10. Interesting how you put religion and medical associations on the same playing field. There indeed tends to be a belief that science is bogus in your circles.
  11. No, I don't think there will be any trouble, Trump himself is rabidly anti-vaccine and likely agrees with AAPS on a lot of these positions. Government is fully under conservative control. I doubt there will be any problem.
  12. Then you aren't looking very well. I'll give you one, you can search for the rest. http://aapsonline.org/principles-medical-ethics/
  13. I think we should get used to this. Trump's first press conference should be a doozy. Jerry Baumchen I have a feeling there won't be many.
  14. But at least they are not elites are they? Pure commoners. Plebs really. These are the people who will truly understand what the average American is going through and struggling with.
  15. Yes, but not Americans, outside of the occasional drone strike.
  16. The medical association Price belongs to has as its founding principles that it is immoral and evil for a doctor to participate in medicaid or medicare. So, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.
  17. There is no proof of widespread voter fraud, yet you have championed voter registration laws, just in case, cause it could happen, etc. Now all of a sudden you are concerned about proof?
  18. Should also note that Tom Price is a member of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS). Sounds pretty fancy doesn't it? Not everything is always as it seems. AAPS is against vaccines and blames them for autism. Its statement of principles includes that it is evil and immoral for a doctor to participate in Medicare or Medicaid. It opines that electronic medical records are a form of data control similar to that employed by the East German secret police. An article on their website speculates Obama may have one the election by hypnotizing voters, especially those people susceptible to neurolinguistic programming. That would be young people. educated people and possibly Jews. AAPS believes "shaken baby syndrome" is a misdiagnosis for vaccine injury. AAPS blames immigrants for crime and disease. AAPS believes abortion causes breast cancer. AAPS believes that doctors should overrule evidence based medicine since that science confronts with the godlike status of a doctor. He is going to set some wonderful policy, the best policy.
  19. And the stuff they build saves other people's lives. Hospitals, bridges, homes, shelters, stores etc. Their job is significantly riskier to do that than the job of a police officers. And I highly doubt most police officers and firefighters chose the job to save lives. And commercial fishermen. Much more risky than police work, and they FEED people. Without food, people die. And many a story of commercial fishermen risking life to save other people on or in the ocean. But they smell and don't have a nice uniform, so less respect for them. Plus it doesn't say "save people" in their job description, so clearly they aren't willing. Even less respect.
  20. He isn't being obtuse. You keep saying these people would not be willing. You bring up their job description as proof of their lack of willingness. If anybody is being obtuse through this, it would be you.
  21. You and I have a different perspective on this I guess. Here in Canada firefighters make very good money for the hours they actually work as opposed to being present at the hall. A very high percentage of them are able to work full time second jobs. So on top of the roughly $85,000 a year, they are able to supplement that meagre salary with a second full time job. Of course the job also comes with full benefits and a fully indexed pension. Not a bad gig for working 8 days a month.
  22. That's why I specifically excluded them. Though automatically assuming their main motivation is saving lives as Bill claims, is also not correct. Of course, none of them could be doing their jobs if there weren't jobs, not worthy of respect, such as mechanics, construction workers, miners etc. Some of those jobs are significantly more dangerous. Yet somehow, because they do not directly impact the safety of another person, they somehow do not command as much respect. I disagree with that position.
  23. Tom Price is great news for many people! http://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2016/11/30/503760677/millions-of-people-are-having-an-easier-time-paying-medical-bills
  24. That's a very narrow view. There are many jobs much more dangerous than police and firefighters. Only respecting those whose job it is when immediate help is required is too narrow a view for me. And I have known enough cops who made sure they wouldn't arrive at a fire or accident until other people had arrived to place serious doubt with your assertion to begin with. But that isn't really part of this conversation. Not really. The world would be a better place if most people were to do this, not just me. Really? Unless you have met a lot of voluntary firefighters, I doubt many of them would continue to do their job if they were not going to get paid.
  25. Circles with you, never answer a question. I am done with you.
