It is the first real indication he may not be able to do what he said he was going to do. Lots is riding on this for Trump, specially since he decided to go "all in" on this one. Like "temporarily ban all Muslims from entering the country"? Sorry, I worded that poorly. I was more speaking to major pieces of legislation.

I think it is just indicative of American Society at the moment. Where it is fine to spend millions on avoiding upsetting one 10 year old boy, while simultaneously proclaiming how there is no money to feed the poor, provide healthcare or fund the arts in any way.

Except they weren't concerned when the FBI letter regarding Clinton was leaked. Or when emails where published through wikiLEAKS. Leaking can be a valid point indeed. But when the FBI confirms it has an ongoing investigation against the President, the leak angle really isn't that important anymore. On top of that the Trump accusation of Obama tapping his wires would have to be based on leaked information too... Edited to add: The fact that Spicer is now trying to say that a former Trump Campaign Manager really only played a very small role in the campaign is evidence enough they are extremely worried.

Comey just confirmed there is an ongoing investigation into the ties between Russia and Trump. Edited: Interesting to see how Republicans on the committee are only interested in asking questions regarding the leaks. No questions at all regarding a now confirmed ongoing investigation into collusion between Trump and Russia.

I thought it was very nice of the German journalists to show their American counterparts how to do their jobs. Maybe Trump was right and foreigners are taking American jobs. All that press conference showed what a joke the American Company Government is right now.....and the White House press Corps isn't far behind to be honest.

If Trump keeps vacationing at his current rate, it is going to cast US taxpayers just shy of $500 Million for his 4 year term. Obama's travel costs averaged out over 1 term was $48 million.

I agree, personally not a big dent. But the entire meeting and event industry through direct and indirect means adds almost $400 billion to your GDP. Travel and Tourism is $1.45 Trillion of your GDP. Canadian Tourist spending in the US is roughly $22.7 billion per annum. Now you may still say that is not a lot of money. But if that is the case, why be upset with spending on Climate Research, since spending on that is only a minor fraction of the money made out of the above two industries....

I am. Just moved one of our conferences out of the US too. Too much risk involved. I have personally, between work travel, conference etc. and leisure travel pulled at least $100,000 US out of your economy. Not that much, but I can assure you I am not the only one.
