Or if Bush II wasn't so horny for bloodshed in Iraq....
-
I wasn't expecting anything. What I am saying is that I do not see these missile as a projection of strength, nor as an indication there was no Russian meddling in US elections.
-
Your over-simplification is astounding. The effect of this was worldwide. It gives notice to Putin, to Jong-Un, and all the state sponsors of terrorism. There's a new sheriff in town. I know you don't agree with this assessment. I've always believed that projecting weakness invites attack. But that is exactly what you did. Project weakness. You lobbed a bunch of missiles, after warning the Russians and were unable to hit anything of consequence. Bombing runs were flown a few hours later from the airport hit.
-
Great, so this "retaliation" had absolutely no effect and didn't alter or affect the Syrian/Russian capabilities. Sounds bigly effective. Winning. I believe there is another term for blustering and grandstanding with no effect.....dog and pony show.
-
We know that the administration is currently having panic attacks over all the Trump-Putin connections the investigation is uncovering - and with all the resignations, recusals and staff shakeups over the Russian connection, they very much need to make it look like there's no connection while there's still time. This was a perfect opportunity to make a show of force to "prove" that there's no connection. http://www.cnbc.com/2017/04/07/syrian-jets-take-off-from-air-base-us-missiles-struck-syrian-observatory.html WTF??? They left the runways usable??? I thought the first objective of hitting an airbase was to destroy runways, leaving a/c trapped on the ground, even if they were airworthy. Now I'm wondering if the whole thing was a just a PR stunt. Syrian aircraft just ran bombjng missions from that airport. It was all just a dog and pony show.
-
Yup. Russia also had advance notice this was going to happen. Russia further has the capability to defend against cruise missiles in Syria and decided not to activate the system. They did not try because their air defense missiles would have fared as well as their tanks did against US hardware. Maybe. Or they knew the missiles weren't going to do too much damage: https://twitter.com/i/videos/tweet/850433158659047425 Syrian aircraft just took off from that same airport and did bombing runs.

Working Nine to Five, what a way to make a livin
SkyDekker replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
I think Trump is simply driven more by a desire to be liked than anything else. Bannon would have sold him that he would be adored. His approval ratings are in the dumps, so time for a change. Though since Americans get a general hard-on for bloodshed and war, I would expect a modest bump in response to firing missiles. -
Russia was aware of the strike in advance. Russia further has the ability to counter a missile attack in Syria, but chose not to do so at all.

A new car already being a luxury. But yes, the auto industry is shielded from this due to it already being a luxury and a very regulated market. But even in the car industry you see this dumbbell effect. With luxury and cheap doing well and the middle struggling.

Gotta love politifalse A lying bunch of hacks way too often. I bet you learned some of your twisting tactics from them huh? . EVERY SINGLE RULING by Politifact is backed up by references to original sources, with links as appropriate. Every one. Unlike the rubbish that YOU dish out on here. Even when you supply a link to an article, more often than not it does not back up your claims. Politifalse pulled one down yesterday. The one where they say mostly true to Obama and Kerry's assertion that Syria had give up 100% of its WMD's.... Yup and explain why they did so, leaving an Archived version available to read. Real shady. Got forbid people change their opinions when new facts come to light. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2017/apr/05/revisiting-obama-track-record-syrias-chemical-weap/ I mean that is a clear signal they are biased.

Bill would stop warrantless border device searches of US citizens
SkyDekker replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
If you are an American citizen, I agree. They eventually will have to let you into the country and are therefor able to not cooperate. As a non-US citizen if you do not cooperate you will be denied entry. Mostly why I have since routed all international travel around the US and cancelled any trip to the US. -

That trend has been evident for some time now. The two retail sectors performing well are: 1. Luxury, expensive. 2. Cheap. Everything in the middle is getting absolutely decimated.

Affordability isn't the issue really. The problem won't be companies not being able to exist. The problem is that you will have a very large part of your society without any purpose or function. What happens when people have limited income and no purpose...... Exactly. And with their limited income what are they able to purchase? There will come a time when the bot employed companies lose their market. And do what? Hire people? You are focussing on the wrong group, which is the problem with capitalism in the end.
-
Yeah, I never learned to speak in 'social justice warrior.' Au contraire, you seem to be quite fluent.

New HHS secretary - tattoos are for drug users
SkyDekker replied to billvon's topic in Speakers Corner
You fear no threat and that is good. However, I did work in the professional world and I was threatened. The threat was real and I was held accountable for something I did not do. Don't be naive regarding real world environments that are different then your own. Kallend agreed with my original post on the subject. You two were talking about schools and counseling where teacher/student guidelines are well established for the protection of both. I've worked as a high school coach, many of my close friends are teachers and one was accused of having a relationship with one of her students. I know the deal very well. In an office setting in the modern professional world it is archaic to do what Mike Pence thinks he needs to do unless your wife doesn't trust you to keep your dick in your pants or is batshit crazy because she believes mid-century evangelical bullshit. I accept your opinion as such. In my case I was threatened by a PhD colleague. Fortunately, the accusation did not go past the next level of executive management. Doesn't even have to be a co-worker who tries to get you in trouble. It could be some internet asshole who decides he is going to try and fuck with somebody's employment because they don't like them for whatever petty reason. -
Sorry, can't say I know what that means either.
-
You think wrong. I would last person to say I don't lie. I was simply asking: 1. if you think Trump has lied? 2. Why you seem to get significantly more upset when Democrats lie than when Republicans lie. If you think Trump hasn't lied, question 2 is moot.
-
Capitalism would not be a balancing force for this at all. Capitalism has no avenue to look at society as a whole, it determines the market would do this. However, it doesn't foresee Human Capital being taken out of the market. Other then how it deal with anything being taken out of the market, it simple seizes to exist in a capitalist structure.
-
Then you are saying that Trump has not lied at all. Which quite frankly makes your credibility even worse. As I said You like innuendo and inferring Giddy up dude. Have a blast Wanna move goal posts and twist a conversation? Have at is with Bill Well you either believe that Trump has not lied or that he has lied. There really is no other option. If you are unwilling to take a stand and forget your spine, that's fine. Having a backbone isn't for everybody.

And by the way, what's up with the hate on you have for her anyway? She just keeps lying. (remember Benghazi and her on the talk shows?) And this is a big deal. 1 part of 3 going on at this time. As for Trumpland? It is way more sane that the world you are living in it seems. If you have to name them anyway....... Trump has now told more lies than any President in the history of your country. But your main concern is that people lie, just not when Trump does it. Bullshit Obama lied to the people much much more So you admit Trump is a liar then. But you aren't upset about that. Which means you feigned displeasure of people lying is quite funny. Also shows your argument is bullshit.
-
That is not what I am saying. There is no absolute proof that he lied about anything. there is plenty of evidence to support that he did and he was impeached. You are denying that the Trump campaign was involved with Russia because you are demanding absolute irrefutable proof otherwise you biased belief structure will not allow you to comprehend the evidence that supports the likelihood that it happened. There is no proof of gravity either, but there is overwhelming evidence that it exists. But you are absolutely certain (I expect) about your claims about Rice. A more accurate statement might be 'I believe', instead of 'that's a fact'. He purgered himself and lost his law license and that is not proof? Holly shit dude, that explains many of your posts. And there is nothing but innuendo when it comes to the Trump Russia bs. NOTHING PERIOD! And every official who has been interviewed has stated as much. He didn't lose his law license. He also was not disbarred from arguing in front of the Supreme Court. He was not convicted of or fined for perjury. For somebody who supposedly gets so upset about people lying, you certainly aren't very good with facts.
