Legally so. Uhmm, no. He can't legally fire Mueller. Technically only the guy who hired Mueller can fire him. That would be Rosenstein. So he would either have to convince Rosenstein, or fire Rosenstein and replace him with somebody who is willing to fire Mueller. Which is roughly what Nixon did.

Potential challenger in Russian election jailed.

US will be following suit in the not too distant future.... -
That's only after they have died for the competition. Dolce et decorum est.....

Looks like Gingrich has gone from praising Mueller and calling him a superb choice with an impeccable reputation for honesty and integrity, to now saying people are delusional if they think he is going to be fair.

No Wonder the Dems Do Not Want Tighter Voter ID Laws!
SkyDekker replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
You may want to read the whole article: Marion County prosecutor Terry Curry, a Democrat, said the police investigation found no evidence of voter fraud or voter suppression and that the charges against the workers came from “a very bad, ill-advised business practice” of setting a quota for canvassers. “We do not believe this was a widespread effort to infringe voters, intentionally register ineligible individuals, or to impact the election," Curry said. "Instead we allege that a bad business practice led to illegal actions by the local association and these twelve individuals." The search warrant, unsealed on Nov. 14, 2016, said some workers admitted to falsifying registrations, but for fear of potentially losing their temporary jobs as canvassers if they didn’t register at least 10 new voters a day. and lastly: President Trump for months has suggested there could have been widespread voter fraud in the last election -- though to date, most public cases have involved voter registration fraud. -
I am just basing it on your posting here. But I get that you aren't going to address those simple questions.
-
Why would I ask that? Well I will tell you. You have become very worked up now, and in the past, about certain people telling lies. However, you have never, ever, posted anything that would show you are even the slightest bit concerned about the multitude of lies that Trump has spoken. Just wondering why it is so upsetting for you from certain people, but perfectly fine from other people?
-
Oh I get it. since CNN refused to report on that bit of truth there is nothing to it then in your CNN world. Nice thing? You cant refute what I posted so you yet again go source attacking. Lame desperation to try and protect the truthiness of a disgruntled liar. (he just go caught) You guys are getting as loony as CNN but then, why not, it is very very obvious who feeds you your opinions. You are ranting. You seemed to object to information from Fox News. You have previously been a big proponent of them. Just wondering what changed? Are you of the opinion Comey is a bigger liar than Trump? You seem to implicate that you have caught Comey in a lie and therefor everything he says is suspect. But, you don't take the same stance with Trump. Does this make sense to you?
-
That was from Fox News. They too mainstream for you now?
-
You sure you want to set up a scenario where we compare the number of lies/untruths spoken by Comey and by Trump?
-
I this testimony was a total vindication, I am assuming this is based on Comey agreeing he had told Trump he was not personally under investigation? That is indeed some vindication, but it also means Trump believes Comey spoke the truth. Except Trump's lawyer has stated that Comey lied. If Comey lied, how is this a total vindication? I mean the former FBI Director testified under oath the President is a liar and cannot be trusted. Among some other things.... Is that total vindication?
-
He didn't say that. No wonder you are such an easy guy to turn into a meek follower.
-
Simply not true. Comey admitted to leaking his own memo. He did so as a private citizen and the information wasn't classified. Also interesting to note he did so for a specific reason. Maybe just vindictive, maybe he knows something. Also not true. And the opposite isn't true either. Unable to determine from the testimony. I wonder what you would sound like if your boss were to tell you what a great job you were doing. Then hints at wanting you to do something highly unusual and maybe illegal. Then fires you when you refuse to do so. I am sure you would be singing his high praise all over the place If I would have to judge between the honesty of Comey and the honesty of Trump, it is no contest. Trump has a long, long, long, long track record of being a liar.
-
Trump's lawyer's response can be summed up with: Trump is not a liar, Comey is a liar. The other thing that become even more obvious, to me anyways, is that Trump truly only cares about Trump. Every decision he makes is solely based on how it affects Trump.
-
Thanks for the clarification. Very much in agreement.

It is an elected position which makes her much more a politician than a judge in my book, but then I have a problem with electing judges.

There is no way to know that. There is no way to know that their meddling during the campaign did not have an influence on the outcome of the election. What an insane argument. 1. Trying to ensure your own elections are fair and free of interference is rather important. Even if you have a habit of trying to alter the outcome of elections in other countries. 2. There are many things the US has done, but strongly objects to other countries doing. I am sure many of those you agree with.

Reality Winner arrested in Russian Interference leaks probe
SkyDekker replied to nolhtairt's topic in Speakers Corner
I am sure there are people who strongly believe that trash talking the president now is treason. But, trash talking the previous president was their patriotic duty. Wouldn't surprise me if there are 1 or 2 on these forums that fall into that category. -
He never left. He has now stooped to hosting memo signing ceremonies, trying to model them after bill signing ceremonies.
-
Exactly, though this was already widely reported for quite some time. Yet you still steadfastly believed this never happened. What were you basing that on?
-
Less than an hour ago you were ridiculing people for possibly thinking the president asked for his loyalty.
-
You still believe Trump didn't ask for loyalty? Or were you wrong?
-
Just read his statement.. He doesn't look like an idiot to me. Trump specifically denying he had anything to do with hookers in Russia is kind of stupid. But I can see somebody like Trump doing that. Have you read it? Do you think it makes Comey look like an idiot?
-
You may not think so, but your party is scared shitless. To the point that an organization chaired by Gingrich and Giuliani is running attack ads against Comey... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgRQRWrhfYs

Uhm, no. Multiple reports say it is unknown if they had an effect on the election outcome. Considering that the full scope of the meddling hasn't been established, at least publicly. It is impossible to say if there was any influence on the election outcome.
