True, but if the masses find out about tax brackets and that higher income tax works on incremental increases then fear based arguments won't work so much. Right now the Republicans feed on the crowd who think that a wage increase pushing them into a higher tax bracket will lead to lower take home pay. Next thing you know is they figure out that 70% on income over $10,000,000 doesn't mean 70% on all income and that wouldn't be very helpful.

Well, other than a Trump supporter including significant "innuendo". But it was pro-Trump, so you would probably not see it as Political B.S. but as somebody standing up for their opinion. https://twitter.com/CNNNewsource/status/1094745247760961536

You sound jealous. But his marriage was in tatters long before she came along. but then facts aren't really important in this right? But how come you don't say these things about any of Trump's wives? They were white and they didn't seek more power than their husband. Guess that fits better with your world view....

can't open threads without new posts
SkyDekker replied to SkyDekker's topic in Error and Bug Reports
Working for me again, thanks. -
Republicans are upset when women have sex, unless women are getting raped, then they just shouldn't have worn a skirt.

I must have missed where you posted your objection to Trump telling LEO they don't have to worry about injuring suspects. All the same people who have no problem with a black guy getting shot for getting the driver's license he has been asked to produce are now all upset about how Roger Stone got arrested.

That's why the Orange one tweeted that the Intelligence Community doesn't know what they are talking about. Only he does.

Noticing that usage on the site appears to be down significantly. Then I noticed that I am unable to get into existing threads when there are no new posts. Clicking on the thread title just reloads the page, but doesn't open the thread. Edited to add that this is only for threads big enough to not have multiple pages, since clicking on a page number will get you in. (I only got back to this page because it is still listed on the main forum's page as the last post in this forum)

Looks like you are a sucker for Russian propaganda. You may want to try thinking for yourself. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/01/30/mueller-says-evidence-in-russia-case-used-in-disinformation-effort.html?__source=twitter|main

Had to make sure Air Traffic Control is going to be staffed prior to the Superbowl....

That's nothing. Hillary sent emails.

There IS a problem with global warming... it stopped in 1998
SkyDekker replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
True. I think her points stands though. The younger generation is very worried about the longer-term impact potential of climate change. -
I agree the stats are meaningless. But the fear of Muslims isn't meaningless. The fear of brown people isn't meaningless. The fear of black people isn't meaningless. Those fears drive incredible wedges in cultures. It's love thy neighbour. Not, love thy neighour only if he is the same as you.
-
Only if you think "devout Muslim" equals "Islamic extremist". I know that people like you and ron, who are terrified of people who aren't like you, this thought process is likely true. That however doesn't make it fact.

Next thing you know she is talking about caravans, all that crime, MS-13. Pretty laughable to see ardent Trump supporters complain about "a flair for dramatics".

Mandatory DNA test for male healthcare workers
SkyDekker replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
I am not quoting it all here. But scroll to the top and read Trigirl's posts from the top. In my opinion, that is a lot more accusatory than "discussing possibilities". -

Can't have an argument without first drawing the straw man. -
Mandatory DNA test for male healthcare workers
SkyDekker replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
I found it distasteful yes, for a few reasons: 1. your stat is extremely misleading. Out of the 1/3 you mention, 99% of that group is made up of people identified as: current or former spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend. None of those were a possibility here, meaning your group of 1/3rd is down to pretty much nothing. 2. In any sexual assault/rape the family pays a heavy price dealing with the aftermath. In this case, that is magnified. It will be the same immediate family members who now have to make very difficult decisions regarding the offspring of this assault. 3. Considering that in this case the perpetrator is/was by the largest odds likely not to be a family member, it is in poor taste to start pointing those fingers. Mostly based on the premise: they should have known she was pregnant. Lastly, I don't think you represent that viewpoint at all. I made a statement, you asked me a question about it, I am trying to explain my statement. C'est Tout. -

With that stat chances are it is not a family member. -
Mandatory DNA test for male healthcare workers
SkyDekker replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
From that CNN article: Looks like the courts weighed more than just: all males at the facility, when granting the order to produce DNA samples. I do have to say that I find it slightly bizarre that some decided that it would make more sense to point fingers at the family. -

That is a lot of rambling. -
Also interesting to note that Mueller office didn't call the story incorrect. It said it was inaccurate. I don't think semantics are lost on these guys.

Not sure his ego would allow for this. Secondly, I believe there will be enough state level charges that a presidential pardon may not help him very much.
