  1. Bought my H150 that has 400 jumps on it for $700. It had just had a lineset done by Aerodyne.
  2. Don't think my clutch will last that long, but I'm still on my original set of brakes with 70k miles on my 1998 neon.
  3. Why not. Buffy pretty much died an the end of each season.
  4. From their website, Perris offers static line training in addition to other methods. With SL you do your initial jumps from 4k and slowly go up from there. I think commercial flights keep the cabin pressure at around 4k so if you don't have problems with that, you won't have any issues with doing a static line jump.
  5. We have an army of zealots that do nothing but read through forums looking for an opportunity to write that. Long live the penguin!
  6. I do! Actually, I really love California. One day, when I'm ready, I'll move out there! Never been to Cali but always wanted to check it out. I've heard San Diego is awesome and I know people that love the San Fran area. Anyway, in FL we have about another 2 months of gloating then it's back to living in a swamp.
  7. *cough cough* http://www.weather.com/activities/other/other/weather/tenday-details.html?locid=USFL0450&dayNum=1&from=search
  8. LOL, if someone ever charged me $90 for a repack, friggen rose petals with a sweet scent of perfume better fall down on me when use the damn thing.
  9. I would disagree with you. I just don't think those emotional areas are so small that there's only room for one person to fit in them.
  10. Florida. With a week, spend some time in the tunnel, maybe hit Disney, do Deland, drive out to Daytona Beach, etc all right nearby.
  11. All hail Florida, land of airsports. Funny thing is, this is about 5 miles from a dropzone.
  12. I'm half way there. I just need to move closer to Sebastian and open up my budget a little so I can blow more cash per month on jumps.
  13. Now that seems a lot cooler than band with a rock on it.
  14. Duh. Everyone knows chicks dig a guy under a small canopy...
  15. Yep, had one lock up at 5k on a night HAHO. Using the backlight from 13k down to that killed the year old battery off On the up side, mechanical aids are only likely to fail when you need them the most.
  16. Yeah, but I like eating food other than ramen noodles. I'm going to do the "work my ass off in my current field and retire at 40-ish doing something I like" thing.
  17. Another Neptune owner that uses it all the time under canopy. I set up my pattern with it.
  18. No, it was from Love magazine, or something like that. I've never heard of it before. This sounds like it: http://www.lovemagazine.com/marry_wear_rings.html I'm really biased against stuff like the above though. I think it's criminal how society today expects a new couple to spend 15-20k on a wedding when that money should be spent to start a family.
  19. Spondered by DeBeers? Women today have as much buying power as men. Companies have had to realize that over the last 30 years and change their marketing focus. I'm really suprised the engagement ring racket hasn't tried to tap into that market before now. I mean, they could be selling twice the stock if women had to buy them too.
  20. Yeah, but it's easier to find it at a dropzone. Most DZs are pretty catty places, especially when it comes to talking about other dropzones. It's an aspect of the "my dropzone/manufacturer/instructor/rigger is the best, the others aren't so good" thought train. Just accept that it exists, that the people behind it aren't bad people, just emotional about a sport they love. Learn to filter it out.
  21. Then why downsize? This requrement for category not only for allowed W/L One may have "D" still jumping at low w/l and don't swooping at all Thing is you don't have to do the canopy requirements for the license. You could still get a restricted license. If this went in today, I'd get my B so I'd be legal on my current canopy and in another 40 jumps I'd just get a C restricted since I don't plan on changing my canopy any time soon. Then at around 300-400 I'd either open up my C license so I could downsize or I'd just wait an extra hundred jumps and get a full D.
  22. But I'm wondering if people should be on a higher loaded canopy of they can't use the front risers safely on a lighter loaded canopy. By forcing people to learn the mechanics of swooping, even if they aren't going to do it normally, you're giving them more knowledge about their canopy and you're forcing them to demonstrate a high degree of skill on their current canopy.
  23. One thing I like about it is that with the WL restrictions, there would actually be a reason to get your B.
