Skydiving after open heart surgery
Andy9o8 replied to skybadiver's topic in Skydivers with Disabilities
I'm trying to classify this post. Is it silly like my posts and the poster is being funny? Or it it dumb because the poster is a skydiver trying to give medical advice? It's a tough call. I'll go with the second choice. Then you (& Dr.Dom) lost the bet. -
Yeah, I know. But sometimes I'm multi-tasking so much there just isn't time.

You sound like Mike Stafford.

Technically she is subject to extradition. But many countries carve out exceptions (whether formally or informally) to extradition treaties where either the offense or the punishment would be contrary to their own law or principles. For example, many countries that don't have capital punishment refuse to extradite murder suspects/defendants to the US unless the US guarantees in advance that the person will never be subject to the death penalty. On the other side, the US is reluctant to extradite people for acts that are not deemed criminal in the US (often to prevent political prosecutions) or that are believed to be political prosecutions in disguise, OR who have been tried and convicted in absentia (which is usually unlawful in the US), OR who have been subject to double jeopardy. (The US's practice of participating in "extraordinary rendition" renders this somewhat hypocritical, but that's another discussion.) ----------------------------------------- ETA to weekender: >>In Italy? I'm pretty sure that the US Constitution, while a pretty awesome document, is not recognized in Italian courts as the rule of law. It's not a matter of Italian courts recognizing US double jeopardy prohibitions; since she's currently on US soil, it's a matter of the US considering it in deciding whether or not to extradite her.

Could be worse; could be the Sicilian justice system. There, they have two levels; left barrel and right barrel.

Knox, knox. Who's there? Double. Double who? Double jeopardy.

You'd be surprised how many kooks file off-the-wall lawsuits like this. Most just don't hit the news before they're given the heave-ho. -
I had a similar one today, too. Not this specific one, but one that covered most of the screen and grayed-out the regular screen under it until I clicked the X in the top-right corner of the ad. Windows 7, Firefox 26.0 without Ad-Blocker.

1. You don't mean "ward", you mean "guardian". The ward is the dependent party, such as a juvenile. The guardian takes care of the ward. Bruce Wayne was a guardian; Dick Grayson was his ward. You've got it backwards. 2. Vocabulary aside, you're totally blowing it out your ass, both here and in the related Incidents thread. As requested by others recently, please just stop already.

I always knew you were a closet Communist. Let's change that to villages or towns. Too late. Once out of the closet, always so.

That's the way I do it. And that makes it right.

Rage at the man does not, as you suggest, presume lack of responsibility of the woman. They're both wrong, and equally responsible for the wrong. The woman is wrong because she's cheating. Man B is wrong because he's being a home-wrecker. What did Man A ever do wrong to him? They both deserve an ass-kicking. BTW, if Man B is also in a relationship, I'd feel the same way about Woman: she, too, is being a home-wrecker. What did Man B's SO ever do wrong to her? Cheating is bad enough when you've got your own relationship to lose. I think (male or female) cheating is even more reprehensible and gutless when you're single, because while your co-cheater has a relationship to risk losing (especially if married, i.e., a blood-letting divorce), you don't risk the same consequences.

Utterly incomparable to a student civilian sport parachute jump at age 16, in view of the quality, quantity and intensity of your training and supervision, not to mention the level of physical and psychological endurance and proficiency of skills you had to demonstrate prior to that jump.

Maybe he should be reminded that had he lived in France or Russia during their respective revolutions, he and his ilk would have had their decapitated noggins publicly impaled on pikes.

Yeah, that's it, not a one.
