  1. True! But why the LZ? Why not the parking lot or any other number of places. I've never been to the DZ so dont know if there is another place that could hold 100 ppl on a dirt dive, but it seems like lack of respect for the jumpers on the way down to put 100 obstacles on the LZ? What about that new jumper just off student status? (they have enough to worry about without a preventable obstacle in the LZ) What about that "swooper" who jumps for that reason alone (selfish to take that away from them) We keep talking about making DZ's safer (with regards to landings), but we are ok with putting 100 ppl in the middle of an LZ and just expect the jumpers coming in to either land off (which is BS) or dodge ppl in the way. Again, I'm not sure of the real estate at the DZ so this might actually be the only place to dirt dive a 100 way and we wouldnt want to be the selfish ones and take that away from them either. just curious.... 2. I seem to remember this jump. My average fallrate is sub 100 on my belly, but can sink it down if I have too. Only sucks when freeflying with the heavies.... As for the WingSuit question....yes, its awsome the amount of time I get on a wingie. Exit at 12500, pulled at 5K.......88 seconds. And this was my first jump on a GTI. 7. I agree! I would love to see scuba and paragliding, but in the essence of keeping DZ.com somewhat related to canopies........a paragliding forum would be great. SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

    WTF

My fault.....I saw a white canopy and figured since there was a mal (though not sure what the mal was now) that it was a reserve. Now I'm even more confused. Thanks for the clarification! If anyone saw this interview, did it piss you off too, or is it just me? SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

    WTF

I saw the interview (cant remember who was doing in...barbara walters or someone) with the jumper who landed in the bush. WTF is all I have to say. All the reports and said he had NO CANOPY and in the vid he clearly had a reserve over his head. Though it was spinning wildly. Then his jump partner (a videot) is says some crap about how hard it is to drive a canopy and land off. (not exact but close) Does ignorant interviews from jumpers upset anyone else or is it just me? Maybe I'm wrong (since I've never had a mal) but if I believe that if I had a mal, I would at least have the facts correct. Hell, even the title of the interview was wrong..."skydiver survives 4000ft fall"? When did he fall, he had a canopy over his head. Rant over.....flame away! 11. So the islands it is after checking out the acropolis. Any recommended? Better than others. Interested in some snorkeling (not bringing my diving gear)? For those that have been....I should be able to take the train to the ferry and get to the islands easily enough, right?
