    I don't have a problem with your post. You asked a question about the CIA and starting wars post cold war and I gave you an answer. As for your last point, I really don't know that we can speak too precisely on extraordinary rendition. There's some nasty anecdotal evidence from a few people but I think the rest of it is pretty well locked up. Then there's the issue of security contractors, some of that has been pretty horrific as well. Until recently I hadn't ever heard of anyone being beaten in the legs so extremely that they actually died. Yea, the posts you're responding to overstate their point but they're not completely off the mark.

    Right, but just because you're trying to optimize the scenario for your own benefit that doesn't mean that you should ignore the cost to the affected parties. It's how far we are willing to go to get what we want that's cause for debate. This administration is going too far in my opinion. I don't like killing people to make my commute more comfortable or to satisfy wealthy campaign donors or to make my religious zealot buddies happy. I guess Clinton left Osama alone so he could get the cut of the opium trade along with the Mena Mafia coke ring... equally as plausible as the bullshit reasoning I bolded, above. I was referring to our petroleum and cheap import throw away lifestyle, our corporately owned legislative and executive branches (working on the third) and AIPAC. But if you want to flaunt your Clinton fetish, go right ahead. I'll give it the attention it deserves.

    No, but they did remove Pelosi, Reid, Rangle, Schumer and Clinton, and they are all doing fine I know you wanted to take a shot at a few Dems but that made no sense. Now if you had said that it was the Republican party and the Bush apologists who were up there blindly smooching away and ignoring everything that they used to stand for, then it would have made sense AND been a little funny. Most jokes have a bit of truth to them. Hmm.....but this one had a LOT of truth, so you may not find it that funny. Sorry.

    I couldn't possibly agree with you more. It used to be that Entertainment Tonight came on after the news. Now entertainment is typically the lead story in the "news".

    You're right that FOX isn't that different in that most of the stories are carried by everyone but they do seem to have a tendency to headline flashy, sex stuff quite a bit. Especially in the margins of the web pages. A quick check of the main page and you have: *Hedge Trimming Hotties *Gutfeld: Sex can stop terror *Sex education for pre-schoolers *Hef's Hottie, Bridget Marquardt *No Pantyless Antics They know what sells and aren't afraid to use it.

    I never said that poisoning was official conduct nor do I consider them condoned by the majority of Israelis. I was just pointing out examples of oppression and human rights violations at the hands of some illegal settlers.

    That sounds like Boortz. It shows that he's just another mouthpiece that won't recognize that there's a difference between Muslims and Islamic extremists. I could just as easily create a similar rant about attacks on people or countries and insert "white people" and "no Caucasian outrage", or "Capitalists" and "no Capitalism outrage". I feel sorry for his listeners. I also think that disinformation like this can be dangerous.

I'm sure he'll be the greatest hero in the west to about 5% of the population, and anathema to another 5%, and mostly just a source of discomfort and amusement to the rest of us. Yea. I only wanted to point out the accuracy of the statement, not what his intentions were/are. You say stuff like this and you know you're going to make the headlines.The sad part is that if you do it too often then you get branded as a kook (with some exceptions) and no one takes you seriously, so basically it's self defeating. Putin can pull it off but not a controversial newbie.
