I was pointing out that you failed to provide an actual, non-rhetorical link between Iraq and 9/11. Instead, you merely made a sensationalizing, grammatically incorrect sentence with no related facts.

There's a credible, non rhetorical link.
  3. It is a sad state of affairs when Brits are more familiar with US law than American citizens.

Please show me where I said this. It would really be nice if people would read posts prior to responding to them. My post had to do with free speech.
  6. According to Wikipedia (with no controversy noted): If it is incorrect, would you be so kind as to correct all the others who have written it.
  7. The court decided the vote conflicted with the state constitution. If the people want to make the changes, they need to amend their constitution, as the system is designed.
  8. I misunderstood your point. I thought you were upset that the court decided that the state constitution overrides a voter initiative. So what you are claiming now is that the court was indeed correct? Okay.
  9. From your source: What your source fails to mention is that in 1866, the Fourteenth Amendment was ratified, which overrides that Supreme Court decision.
  10. I don't know; I'm not from California, and haven't studied their constitution. The point is not relevant, anyway. A more pertinent question would be does California's state constitution allow a (non amendment related) voter initiative to override the state constitution.
  11. It is exceedingly difficult to take your posts seriously when you use phrases like "some bullshit they read into some constitution." I know of no state where a ballot initiative overrides the state or federal constitution, except such ballot initiatives where the people actually vote to amend the constitution. You keep complaining about how the judicial system works as designed, independent of public opinion.
  12. I've never peeled before pulling my cutaway handle, after eight cutaways. If you pull the handle away from your body, and not straight towards your right foot, you should not have any problems with the Velcro not un-mating. I think the low profile metal handles (available from Jump Shack) are a superior alternative to pillow reserve handles. It has a low profile, and a nice hole through which you can place a thumb. They are, in fact, a bit lower profile than a pillow handle.
  13. Yes, but that does not imply there will always be poor people unable to meet their basic needs. If you want capitalism to work in the long term, the less successful must be looked after, lest they be cut out of the economy. When that happens the line between the successful and the unsuccessful moves farther above the median of the population, until eventually, you end up with a small super rich elite being successful, and everyone below them losing ground or falling behind, with a substantial percentage of the country living in abject poverty.
  14. Here's one state's humorous response to the klan.
  15. Could you please explain how having to work a minimum wage job due to the lack of anything better being available is remotely the same as "a lack of planning." Are there so many jobs available in your area that people can work wherever they want for whatever wages they choose? The "it's not our job to take care of people; it's their job to take care of themselves" attitude led us right into the Great Depression. It would be great if everyone could be successful, but that's not how capitalism works. In a capitalist society, in order for someone to get ahead, someone else has to fall behind. It's how that particular system works.

Before he gets ripped to rhetorical shreds. If you read that Constitution which you are sworn to defend, you will notice that the right to free speech is enumerated in the First Amendment, because the Founding Fathers felt it was pretty damn important. Don't you? The right too dissent is what has made this country strong, not a bloated military.
  17. I've done that work for a contractor for one of the companies you have mentioned, and it didn't pay like you claim. Different markets. If you stay at a single McDs store for the same amount of time it takes to go from $8 to $10 in a warehouse, there is a good chance you will also be making similar money in fast food. But, again, your mileage may vary.
  18. UPS and FedEx are both known for paying fairly well, although they are not known to be in the warehouse business. I have lived in a few places where a typical warehouse job would start at about $8 an hour, and might top out at $10/hr. Thus, your milage may vary.
