I've made a little movie, enjoy: http://tristan.tw/videos/Tristan@Bex_Oct2007.wmv Thanks piisfish for being a great host -
I've got you covered!:-) What about a Matterhorn flyby, mountain swooping, glacier landing trip?! Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?

I have to clarify that I defined lift as the Bernoulli's principle not the Newtonian. But you could call that lift as well I guess. Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?

I can make a paper airplane glide, I assume you can't since it has no wing profile with lift generating vortices? Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
-
Sure, in theory you should be able to create a nice wing profile that generates lift and maybe with some suits when flying it right this might happen to some extent. I just think that for now it's mostly just the wind pressing against the bottom of the wings. In the case of lift generated by the wing profile, this would be neglect able in comparison. Therefore, and you can quote me on this, "bigger is better". In fact, I have not mentioned lift since, assuming the above line of thought to be correct, one might conclude there is no lift generated... Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?

Those strands will dance around like crazy because there are all kinds of weird vortices in my burble, non that make me fly further I think. I first have to get over my masculinity and male/female stereotypes before I can learn to sew. Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?

Not quite. The slower you fall, the less pressure on your arms. Less pressure on your arms, less fatigue. Less fatigue, longer flight. And finally, the longer you fly, the further you fly. And isn't that what wingsuiting is all about?

Agreed, Sion should be nice too! Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question? -
Ah yes that would have been great. I'm just dyslectic, I once went to a toga party dressed as a goat... Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?

For anyone (like me) that couldn't even get through the book "Skyflying, Tight suits and Lotion" by Scott Campos, don't even try this one. Unless of course you want to look at some nice pictures.

Oh god Please don't do the purplish pink, I rather have the more milky pink, that suits my rosy cheeks better. I hate you, you know that right? Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question? -
Wing Suit Flying from a pilot's perspective
Airowpoint replied to rmahoney's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Once I went to a DZ where I was the first ever wingsuiter (yes they still exist). The pilot was clueless about wingsuits. Ofcourse I had to convince them to let me go last. Then, when it was my turn to exit, the pilot told me to wait because we were to far off and he wanted to do another round. Afterwards I could not convince him it really was not necessary. He changed his mind when next jump I was flying next to him politely waving at him -

There is a direct connection from Geneva to Bex (1:27): http://fahrplan.sbb.ch/bin/query.exe/en? Then it's walking distance to the airport. Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question? -

Fly to Geneva airport and I'll pick you up! You can't stay at my place though. I'm not allowed to have any visitors anymore. Not since Tony stayed here. haha Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question? -

I thought you were sponsored by BM and had to fly those plastic toy suits, or not? At least the SM1 doesn't have those annoying cutaway systems, ahum Sometimes I have horrible nightmares and wake up screaming and bathing in sweat. When I sleep I have to relive all my horrible experiences in the brand war. Sometimes I just stare blankly out of the window for hours only to be startled awake by a sudden sound. Sure, I might have survived it, but it has taken it's toll. And I will never be the same... Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question? -

Sure, I used to fight for PF in the brand war of 2006-2007 but times have changed. It's not like I'm saying the SM1 is the best suit in the world or anything. oh wait, I did didn't I Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question? -

Maybe I'm just a bit ahead in evolution, less of a monkey then you. But shouldn't the wingsuits be safe for more evolved people as well? I never said you couldn't do it, you were just super pumped up with adrenaline because of your line twist on your Spectre 170 Isn't one of the main points about the cable cutaway system that it should work every time? Especially in a stress situation. You dirty gemeentereinigingsbeamtenaar! Now stop posting on DZ.com and send me the next episode of Romeo and Julio Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question? -

Airowpoint replied to The111's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Let me just make some other points about cutaway systems: On the S3S I jumped I could hardly remove the cutaway cable because it was so tight. On the Phi I could not remove the cable at all without ripping off some fabric. With the Blade (and I expect with the Ghost as well) the cutaway handle is so low you can't reach it without pulling up your knees, which might be awkward in freefall and possibly impossible under a spinning canopy. not really making a point, just wanted to mention it... That won't be a problem when the thumb loop is in between the two zippers. Still a bad idea not to have a cutaway though... Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question? -

ok, I give up... I'll just cut the tabs off my V2 and sew them on the SM1 myself. Tristan Will you answer "NO" to my next question?
