  1. I'm one of those strapping, tree-hugging types that sends all mis-guided creatures packing in the other direction. Until I turn my back, when they likely re-infiltrate my place. But since I turned vegan about 3 years ago now, I haven't killed anything right to a mosquito on purpose. Weird eh? 2. Am I wrong or did Iraq not just sign some sort of accord or deal with Russia??? Oh wait I'm right here's the link http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20020818/wl_nm/russia_iraq_dc_7 How many new complications is that gonna spawn? 40Billion is alot of money, and I'd imagine the russians would want to protect their interests. 3. haha Timecode! Cool, saw it in the theater, nice mental workout trying to follow everything But seriously, find and watch Donnie Darko. The trailer is here: www.donniedarko.com click the mini window and check it out. The actual site itself is pretty sweet too. Take some time and click around in it. It's got levels, and alot of sweet flash work. Sweet in a way unlike that previous flash offering with the giant shmeebs. 5. Not as catchy as yours, but hey: "The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep And miles to go before I sleep." -Robert Frost, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening If I ventured in the slipstream; Between the via-ducts of your dreams.......could you find me?
  6. I'm a skier too, and I always thought that some of the shots where I'm up, inverted over the camera (on snow) would be sweet to switch all of a sudden to a freefly sceen, then switch back to the landing on skis. And keep mixing it up like that all to Soul Coughing. If I ventured in the slipstream; Between the via-ducts of your dreams.......could you find me?
  7. did anyone notice how, right after 9/11, Subway ran some ads where Firemen were the "stars" rather than Jared? When I saw that, I was like "Whoa, cheap."

  10. Simoon sound.... Hmm haven't heard of it. I heard about the Orcas and other cetaceans up there, so I built myself a portable preamp and hydrophone! I can't wait to use it
  11. P.S. -> Andyman: HELL YA!
  12. Yeah, when I was younger (like16-18) I used to take my canoe to the whitewater. Roto-molded hull, pretty much impervious. Wild ride for sure. Sea kayaking is fun too, which is what my trip is gonna be. After a day of paddling, I'm soo looking forward to dumping my gear at camp, heading out into the surf, and playing around in it. That sea kayak will flip like nobody's business. So much fun....
  13. So tomorrow I leave for the Broughton Archipelago, up on northern Vancouver Island. It's gonna be a 5-6 day paddle, some open water, a lot of inter-island stuff. Anyone else here dip the stick, like to get their hands wet, etc?
  14. Cut My final approach short in a tight landing area, and caught the last 10 feet of tree tops. People on the ground later said that they could hear me: "Shit." "Shiat" "No.... Shit" "OH! I'm gonna make it!" "Aw shit! I'm not gonna make it!" Wham, crash bang "shit." Yeah, they said that was the sweetest play by play they'd ever heard
  15. Well said Jeff, I suppose that's the best any of us can hope to live by. I agree that we should live our lives with conviction, that it's important to believe in something, regardless. Maybe it's that belief alone which gives us help when we need it, who knows. I admire your conviction and what it has brought you. I too shall leave this thread, since I think that at least between you and I, we've said our peace, which in reality (ha) maybe isn't that different after all.
  16. I was one of 3 who landed off on a heli jump, wicked bad spot, winds changed, no penetration, put it down in the bush about a kilometer away right next to a saskatoon bush. I landed, looked over at it, and did the big Calvin and Hobbes Grin. :] Mmmmmmm Makes a hike back more enjoyable. 17. Seriuosly man, think about this: Why does the belief in a soul automatically constitute a belief (etc.) in God? Answer me that and I'll be the nosticist agnostic in this room. Until then, I don't even care about the "definition of agnostic" cuz it don't apply. If I ventured in the slipstream; Between the via-ducts of your dreams.......could you find me?
  18. I'm not saying there's no god, hell, I wouldn't be surprised if there were, but in order for me to suppose that, I also have to be willing to suppose that there might _not_ be a god too. After that, which ever direction you take in your faith, (either that there is a god, or there isn't) is no longer is based on facts, it's not provable, it's not quantifiable. It's exactly that, just faith. And that's fine. Fine once you backtrack the origin of your faith, and can see where it departs a provable logic. I'm absolutely with you on the faith aspect, as I have faith too of a different type, but I can admit that I have no proof. Logic or not.
  19. That's alot of maybes... If I ventured in the slipstream; Between the via-ducts of your dreams.......could you find me?
  20. "Start" suggests a path I don't appreciate being implied to be upon. In my questioning of your logic, I've been seeking your answers; so if you have any, or the supporting logic, please share as I have, so I can better understand where you're coming from.
  21. What I was trying to say was, IF a person can stand up and say that we exist without a God, then what reason is there for us not to postulate the possiblity of a soul, also existing without a god? When dead we may have soul-superiors, and souls that seem more powerful than others, but in all the evidence I've ever come across, it suggests more that souls exist rather than god. It's a human habit to attribute the soul to god, but is it a logical one? I don't think I've heard a good argument either way so far. Would I sell you my soul? If I had one, I still wouldn't think it meant there was a god or not. But even in the absense of god, no, I wouldn't sell it to you, because I'd much rather take care of my soul myself.
