I corresponded with a fellow Anvil Brother about some gear I had for sale a few months ago. He was 6'9" tall and 295 # He was a student so I don't know if he stayed in it. I'm 6'6" and 240. Grant Meeker with Freefly Euphoria is 6'4" and 235. There's several that are our size.

1200+ jumps - no reserve rides. In this order: 1. Line Order 1. Line tension 1. Clean pack job. 1. Symmetry of line stows. 1. Regular pre-operational maintenance. 1. Inspect your rig thoroughly once a month - when in doubt - ask a rigger (tip the rigger for helping). 1. Find a packer who will follow these rules.... Watch them pack other folks rigs before engaging them to pack yours. Be explicit with your packing-specific instructions. Tip in adavance and promise tip for no reserve rides at the end of the day. Hope that helps.

My last $.02 and then I'm done. First, you are to be commended for not posting it on here. It is the right thing NOT to do. While there is an attorney in the room, I would still caution anyone who openly posts a video or pictures for which the customer has paid. Even though the DZ has a clause that states something to the effect about "use"... it may not state anything about "ownership." 1. Work for hire is a way the client becomes the copyright owner. The difference between work for hire and a copyright transfer is rather simple. In the case of a copyright transfer you own the copyright until you transfer it. In a work for hire situation, you never own the copyright. It is owned by the client from the moment the work is created, and the client is by law the author of the photograph. The photographer is denied authorship and is treated as a tool of the client. 2. In order to qualify for "fair use" the photograph would usually have to be copied for educational, classroom, news reporting or other educational or public interest purposes. "Fair use" is always subject to interpretation. There is no simple rule to apply to determine when an unauthorized use is "fair use." Each case has specific facts that must be examined before such a determination can be made. This is one reason why it is important to consult with a knowledgeable copyright attorney before jumping to conclusions about infringement. The bottom line is; she handed the DZ money for you to video her. She has ownership. She did not waive ownership when she signed the agreement of use and I'm betting that "use" wasn't defined in the waiver. If the waiver states "ownership," that ownership transfers to the DZ and then there's the issue of whether they allowed you "use." -
The list is quite long and the majority of names are on paper. I developed the website a couple of years ago for Bill using Frontpage so he could learn to administer the site and update it on a regular basis himself. He & I talked the other day about this again and he has started recording the vertical awards on soft copies. But the old SCR & nSCR names would take forever. The vertical awardees will and are hosted at www.freeflyers.com

Situations/circumstances that really make you uncomfortable
nightjumps replied to Muenkel's topic in The Bonfire
Ditto. Going in a WalMart pretty much satisfies both these conditions, therefore, no Wally world for me. Besides that, I always feel like I'm in a really bad "Roseanne" episode. -
Excellent recommendation. Seen what happened to you more than once.

Nope. They're paying for it. Their video. -
Not only exceedingly irresponsible, but also a criminal offense.

Hey Jeff, Exactly what I sent Simon at Icarus, except with the lower skin and the upper skin being one. Kind of a triplane wing. Feel free to send it to him for the detailed explanation. While Simon's explanation is understandable for skydivers, I "think" its a great idea for other applications (i.e., ultralights, small aircraft, military tandem operations for increased wing-loading, etc.)

Kenny Hills is back in Australia. Curly has retired to Florida and no longer skydives. I jumped at Muskogee 81-83 and then Tahlequah when Bill Campbell bought it. I'll PM you with Pete moriis" stuff, do you can contact Curly. Keith

Even though you are new, you should be making decisions between 300-600 feet. If the DZ is crowded, make that decision then. You are responsible.
-
Well, that's their responsibility to tip for, not mine. I really don't care what other folks do, I'm a good customer (always say, please, thank you, when you get some time...) But I only feel required to tip based on how your service affects me, not cause you're having a bad day cause someone else's kid puked.

Tipping is getting ridiculous. And, those restaurants that automatically add 15% torque me. There is no motivation for excellence. By the time you add tax & tip, you're up to ~25% of the bill for nothing tangible. So at a restaurant, My sliding scale is: 0% - you sucked. 5% - you did the minimum to get by. 10% - if you were a little more than average. 15% - You didn't ask me, "How is everything?" while I've got a mouth full of food and anticipated my needs (water - 1/4 full and you're filling it, just used the last pat of butter and you're bringing more, etc.) Now, for those things that aren't taxed... Riggers, packers, etc. The scale goes up. I always tip the packers in advance while giving them the instructions of preference for my rig. If they follow it all day long, I tip them again at the end of the day.

Analog for day jumps. Digitude for night jumps.

Low man has right of way. On ground is low man. If you cannot control your canopy to avoid hitting someone, land somewhere else.

How many quarter pounders with cheese can you eat?

I just like the taste of Diet Coke & Diet Sprite better than the leaded version. -
Think it would have been funny if no one replied. Then you would have killed your own thread BWAAAHAHAHAHAHA

Whoa, Big Fella!!! Aren't you comparing total murders of Chicago to those of Toronto's 40 gun-related homicides.

Jeff, I actually postulated this thought to Simon at Icarus a year ago. His reply was that it would provide more rigidity, but the result would be increased drag and more bulk and would actually reduce the canopies ability to fly as well as they do now.

Applications for vSCR awards can be made thru www.scr-awards.com During Skyfest next week at Skydive Dallas, Bill Newell will be present (SCR Awards HMFIC). And, we are going to attempt an NvSCR (Night vSCR). At last year's Skyfest, we had 31 SCR recipients. About the largest SCR ceremony I've ever seen. If you can make it, look me up.

Just a thought: 1. Wear two dytters for freefall. 2. Go down to your local sign shop and get vinyl numbers made to place on your altimeter that are a larger font. i.e, 4,000 - a large "4" 3,000 - a large "3" 2,000 - a large "2" 1.000 - a large "1" Depending on where you are in your student progression program, you should be learning what size certain landscape objects (buildings, roads, trees) are at 600 and 300 feet. That way you can quit concentrating on the altimeter and concentrate on situational awareness.

People opening above you-a true story
nightjumps replied to jerry81's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You should have gone out after the 8 way. Larger formations drift more in freefall (I'm assuming it was RW, not vRW). Go here to see Kallend's diagram of exit order. http://lensmoor.org/cgi-bin/chute.cgi?vplane=100&vhwind=0&vlwind=15&sheer=3000&delay=5&faller=1&run=Submit+Query&loaded=1 -
Deal.
