Amen - the fact that they need to pass a law for something that is just plain common sense is saddening. On the drive out to Vancouver over XMas, I think it was WY that had signs along I90 pointing out the very same law. The only thing worse were the signs along the same freeway in WA that said for Slower traffic to keep right. I guess they are needed for the same people who continually need to be told not to touch the element on the stove, since it's hot?

Then there is the packing tape sticky side up laid out in thier path. They go psychotic trying to get it off thier paws. Teaches them to not walk on tape.

"This is so amazing, how many guys pretend that they are saints and that they have a heart of gold etc, when in the recent past, they have cheated on multiple GF's, had 2 GF's at once etc. They try and play it up like they are this really sweet loving guy, and they are not a monster. grr... " While others of us work at trying to come off as right bastards.

Agreed. They only apply to me - everyone needs thier own criteria - each was based on what I thought was a sigificant factor in causing a relationship of mine to fail. As time went on, the relationships kept getting better as I narrowed down what fits and filtered out those individuals who didn't (which is probably 99.99% of the population). What it comes down to is: If they don't make me happy now, they won't make me happy later - only one person in my life is responsible for making me happy -> me. Oh yeah, Rule 11: Don't date Yank girls.

The Basic 10: Rule 1: Never, ever, EVER go back to an ex-. Rule 2: Never date the friend of a relative or relative of a friend. Rule 3: If one has never been married, never date someone who has. Rule 4: Never date the child of a split marriage if the father left/cheated on the mother. Rule 5: Never date someone who cheated on/broke up with thier S/O for you - odds are they will do likewise to you, too. Rule 6: Never date someone with kids, unless you have them as well. Rule 7: Religious fundamentalists - avoid like the plague. Rule 8: Never date within circle of friends. They are Plan B when Plan A (your significant other) goes south. Rule 9: Never date someone who doesn't have a balanced circle of friends of both genders. Rule 10: Never date someone who gets along with none of thier ex's. Been happily dating the same lady for almost 4 years. I guess the rules worked :)

Steve Buscemi? The 'Whole world in his hands" thing cracked me up. Brightened up an otherwise dull day at the office.

Slayer, Testament, SlipKnot, Pantera or Metallica

Rammstein - who gives a f**k if you can't understand half of it - it's angry. -
We got the same rule here Hawaiian shirt Fridays- except during deer hunting season, then it's a mix of camo and flare orange clothing in the office. And depending if the folk involved are bow or rifle biased, the number of Fridays they wear it varies.

It was term we used at work to descibe one of the guys who was taking Okinawin Kobudo, and had a slight incident with a nachaku. He ended up with 8 stiches down his forehead - thus a zipper on his head. The DRL incident reminded me of that.

Might as well face it, he's addicted to drugs??? *runs and hides*

"I had this picture in my mind of the blimp going down in a ball of flames like in the Tick." I was thinking more of, "Oh the Humanity!"

Raven Shield. Tron 2.0 was a pleasant surprise as well.

does anyone here jump for free?
GrumpySmurf replied to Newbie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yes. I don't charge the DZ for my jumps. They should consider themselves lucky to be in my good graces, lest I make them pay for my presence in the sky. -
My TSA Complaint letter, just emailed
GrumpySmurf replied to LawnDart21's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
With the posting to be on the eye for suspicious electronics - the TSA went from concerned to paranoid over the last 2 weeks - The day after the inital posting - it was the usual - take out laptop, make sure you ain't wearin no metal, might have to wait a minute while the they scroll the bag back and forth in the X-Ray. A week after the initial posting - it was - no wires in the bag - everything electronic out and in a bin - laptop, CD player, headphones - better not have more than 3 fillings or have consumed more than 300 mg of iron in the past 24 hours, cause that's gonna set the metal detectors off. It doesn't suprise me they are becoming more short with the flying public - thier primary job is protect the public, not to humour a small minority. As has been expressed - it may well be the case soon that the only way you are gonna travel with a rig is to ship it via FedEx or UPS and meet it when you get there. -
Was there any flying pies this time around? Aye, Happy Successive Spin Around the Sun.

"I WANT to build a Vans RV-6/7/8 with aerobatic capability and that brings this post to a new twist..." I helped my grandfather build his second RV-6 - I think it was the only time in our recent family history that all 3 generations of men worked on the same thing together. Sadly, he didn't live to see it complete. "who else is / wants to be a pilot of powered aircraft ? Who dares fly what they've built " Amen to that - it's a 10 minute walk to the local airfield from my house and our office parking lot is right next to the runway. Been eyeing a Challenger utralight kit (it's the engineers bug - the never ending desire to build stuff) - just a matter of finding the time to take the lessons to fly it and gathering the money to buy the kit segments.

I was curious to see what people would say about it, given Cameron wasn't listed in the Crew credits. Another typical summer action flick, I guess?

A nice surprise was sitting on my desk after yet another of a gazillion meetings today. It fits snug as a bug, comes off quick, has the CamEYE II installed rather nicely, ... and it now be covered in smugey fingerprints (all mine). And with only $2 remaining on my PC-101 to be paid off, a jumpin' da camera we will go.

Spanish (in process of - employer is paying for it), German, and Japanese (maybe Korean) - since, besides English - those are the langs our customers (DCX, GM, Honda, etc) use.
