    Lowes offers a year round discount on major purchases to all veterans and active duty. I just got 10% off of a Samsung front loading washer and dryer, plus the same discount applied to the pedestals. BTW they work GREAT

    I still don't believe in gay Marriage, civil unions sure. What the old guy failed to understand was that he did not fight so that the churches would HAVE to allow gay marriages. If people want a civil union the can go to the JoP for all I care. I don't dislike gay people at all, I just think that imposing their will on a society is not what the constitution was all about. However, they are free to live happily and join themselves together is a civil union ceremony. I hope they are happy.

    Needless to say but still worth it, he learned what surviving takes, how to lead, how to follow, and how to live as a Man (or a woman) in other people cases. It seems others could use that lesson. There is no way for someone to learn all that from attending a university.

    Yep.. Have to agree.. Can't imagine being a sniper converts too well!! It does actually, contractors and instructors are paid very well. It also qualifies you for many law enforcement and government jobs. Snipers are not only shooter, but very good assets for surveillance and other skills.

    We buy Murray Gray Angus on the hoof for $1 per pound (dry aged then 21 days) and have it processed for $0.43 for whatever gets wrapped. We shop at costco, and also use all of what we can from the garden. I also hunt. We spend quite a bit but live very well, and have enough to share.

    Regardless of what you think the motive is, it is still a nice gesture. I can think of a few Veterans that could use a free meal. The homeless and jobless are usually too proud to go to a soup kitchen or the various outreach centers. If this gets them to come in for a free, hot, nutritious meal that gets them through the night while they sleep in the open freezing, it is worth it.

    I thought those were pretty tasty and would swap for them whenever I could. Still like ham and Lima beans, made a pot last week. Ham and Mothers suck! eeeewwwwwwwwwww People who ate that would eat a rotten possum on the highway! ewwwwww

    Yeah but in the 7th INF Div @ Ft Ord. we had steak and lobster every Wednesday for lunch for six months to make up for some wrong doing in the mess. Damn was that good. We had roast beast too, damn fine. In Germany we had an excellent mess hall. At Fort Sill the food was like dogshit. Ft Dix was the same way. Ft Gordon was tolerable, had nice 4th of July as well. Ft Polk back then has some of the best and worst. GLNTC- Chiefs mess and the club is nice. (Great view of lake Michigan from the terrace) Ft. Benning was tolerable. Ft. Behning is the best of all.

    Some of these people responding have no idea what others would do. I suggest that if it were done to restore our constitution by removing a government that had subverted our rule by the people, it would be welcomed by many. If it were done to subjugate us into servitude or resulted in concentration camps there would be tens of millions who would fight.

    I never saw that movie until after I jumped. In fact I watched it at the DZ while everyone was partying. I made for good laughs.
