Yep, seems like yesterday. Lee had invited me down for a party to pay tribute to Bob and others. Sad, I just hope the perp suffers to his last breath, Lee and I agreed on quite a few things and that would be fitting. Taking the life of an innocent is one of the things that really crosses the line. It is not like Lee was some knuckle dragging felon. I hope you know he will be watching you guys this Christmas just like a big old fat Santa! -
Maybe not since they are not from the inner city in the USA. That would be a near certainty if that were the case.

Anyone enjoy deer hunting over the thanksgiving break?
warpedskydiver replied to BETO74's topic in The Bonfire
You can find a rem model 7600 used or a 760 used in .270win Do that and do a light trigger job, I can walk you through it. Also cut the stock off the thickness of a Limbsaver recoil pad for the rem 870 or 700 and all that to it. That way you can shoot it in the summer in a tshirt. I am not recoil sensitive by any mean, but with the steel butt plate I was left with a bruise qafter 50 rounds in a tshirt. If you want the bbl threaded for a brake and a brake made let me know, I will do it for you. -

Something that will go as low as 2.5x up to as much as you can afford. Realistically a 2.5-10x is sufficient, you can also find a nice cheap 2-7x.32mm and add the Fast Fire. Tasco makes very cheap scopes and not all are that good, but there are two of them worth using and if they get broken nobody would care. The nice thing is that it is very compact and allows both eyes open shooting.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TASCO-2-7x32-AO-Tri-Weaver-Rail-Rangefinder-Rifle-Scope_W0QQitemZ220458977909QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090729?IMSfp=TL090729151001r839 It lasted through a carbine course and held zero! It had this added to it.http://www.burrisoptics.com/fastfire.html On the other end a Meopta, Leupold, IOR or equal is a very nice scope and will let you distinguish an ear from a leaf at over 500yds. -

I would immediately rip the sights off it, see what it takes to free float it, do a trigger job and get a nice scope with a lit reticle or a Burris Fast Fire added on the tube so that you can use that with the opposite eye both eyes open. That way you could use the magnification for long distances or precise shots and the FF for up close or fast moving shots. I would also thread the muzzle for a WCI brake -
I already gave you an excellent idea....

Join the military, it is far more realistic. Kind of like skydiving eh?

Remember that a .270 is a long action cartridge. So if you use a bolt gun you will have to lift your cheek off the stock and that will stop you from getting a follow up shot or a double. .270win is nice in a pump gun. -

I shoot a .270win and .308win both are great cartridges, a .260 is still a better choice. Nothing you can see with the eye is out of range, ammo is not expensive, reloading a breeze, bullets have a far higher BC. .270 is a long action cartridge, meaning if you have qa bolt action there will be no follow up shot due to having to life your cheek off the rifle to cycle it. .270win is a great cartridge in a pump gun or semi auto. .308 works very well, but the .260 is one of the flattest shooting cartridges around and does not have punishing recoil. -

You can tell the GA deer from the Northern deer easily, in order to call GA deer you need a mouthful of shit then blow on the deer grunt call. -
You would have done her if she was a homeless woman that was unbathed, ugly and had a huge tumor on her back that made her look like Quasimodo.

I just sent her an excellent idea of how to spend Christmas.

Try Salmon in the foil package, tasty and high protein with Omega 3 oil. Bring some crackers like Carrs. Peanut butter in the tube is good, so are zone or cliff bars.

A semi auto or pump gun in .260 remington, liht recoil, extremely accurate, long rage, hits hard. Try the model 7600 from remington, or an AR10 type in .260rem A .243 win is nice but the bullets are a little light. For whitetail deer you want a 120-150grain bullet. The .260rem will take any animal in North America give the proper choice of bullets. I need to repeat LOW RECOIL If you have an AR15 already try getting an upper in 6.5Grendel, that will do nicely. If you need information on that or assistance in getting one let me know -
My dad dropped on Thanksgiving Day 1 hr before he was supposed to arrive for dinner. We had to disconnect him on 12/4/1995 I will never forget that. I am sorry for your loss but after such a prolonged illness he was probably lucky just to pass on. I would rather go out standing on my feet with a weapon in my hand in a horrible fight, than to die sick, crippled, weak and unable to fight it.

Jumping with Bad Cervical Problems

My problem started at 23 yrs old I first got my helmet caught and got dangled off my feet about an inch from the ground. It was a twisted drop. Then I had my nasty accident. -

warpedskydiver replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Skydivers with Disabilities
C5-C7 Narrowing of the cervical spine and large bone spurs. If you get warned that this might cause you to be paralyzed but that whether it will or not due to skydiving is unknown. What do the people who have this problem do, and what do the spine docs who jump say? -

He is still pissed that document was passed, he was in the opposition to it at the time. -
I call bullshit on waiting that long for an ultrasound, so would Dr. Bordson as well as any other health care professional. But you obviously know more about it than they do. I don't wait that long for things at the VA
