shitty remarks regarding US Servicemen
warpedskydiver replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
I realized this morning that some individuals posting on these forums are in our country as guests and think its funny when US Servicemen are killed. I DO NOT think it's funny, and I also believe that maybe those aforementioned individuals need to leave the United States of Amerca immediatly and never return. I also will never fail to defend my brothers in arms at any cost to myself personally even if it should cause me to lose my life. If you aren't brave enough to say it in person then shut the fuck up!!! -
No, I meant be in the helo yourself. I have several dead friends now from what you have personally determined to be "cool" if you think it's such a great idea then try it yourself. I know this may be considered a personal attack but please consider others welfare and feelings as well as your own twisted sense of pride or whatever it may be that compels you to hate american servicemen. If you think I may be harsh, that is not a problem for me... just never present yourself to me at any DZ or place on earth!

A rifle against an apache!!!! WTF? man the drugs must be good hey I take that back ...maybe you could use the rifle to scrape out a hole in the ground to hide in! -
BTW if you use 9mm +p+ ammo in a Sig Sauer p226 what you have is a 16 shot weapon that approximates the power of .357mag
-
the new 45cal weapon will be a springfield armory weapon. HEAR ME NOW>>>>BELIEVE ME LATER

the AK47 is no better a weapon unless you are under 200 yards look up the ballistics if you don't believe me. If an AK47 chambered in 7.62x39 is zeroed @200yds the bullet drop @ 300yds is 13.5" when you see people shooting an AK at our guys they had better be close because they will be engaged @500yds by a M16A2(preferably with an ACOG or similar) besides the AK will not penetrate 1/2" of hardened steel. however if you want a great M16 get a 6.5mm grendel from www.alexanderarms.com it performs nearly as well as 7.62 out to 500yds and after that it actually performs better and is still supersonic @1200yds and actually is an excellent 1000yd weapon firing a 123grain lapua scenar bullet traveling @2600f/ps and thats a mild load... this would make any current 5.56mmx45 weapon much more effective and make a M249 SAW an equivalent of the M60 or M240 (FN MAG58) and much less weight which is wonderful given the current battle loadouts our guys are required to carry these days.

If one cannot qualify with the M16A2 rifle your carrer will end ASAP as you are unfit for military service. All basic trainees must qualify or be mustered out!

This is much the same as it is here, a student in highscool has the opportunity (even if forced) to attend gay orientation(lifestyle choices) but they will not allow any NRA sponsored gun safety classes or anything to do with guns. In the USA obesity kills more than guns do... should we ban the cooking club? should we ban pictures of kids baking? I am admittedly Distinguished Lifetime member of the NRA and a firearms enthusiast/hunter and ex military... what next should I be banned?

this is Bonfire not SPEAKERS CORNER!!!

will penetrate at least 50 millimeters of armor plating, making it capable of destroying light armored vehicles, SCUD launchers, and other equipment. According to the ammunition manufacturer, the 25mm round is 2.5 times more effective at destroying targets than a .50 caliber armor-piercing round. BTW who said it was a good idea to be in the area when the US Military is on operations?...shit, I believe that when given the opportunity our enemies will claim innocence. No that's not MY RPG I washolding it for a guy while he went get his bomb vest dry cleaned!.....yeah yeah BANG!!!

how about a nice whole hindquater of venison roasted with garlic creamcheese mashed potatoes and baked acorn squash with butter and brown sugar and also some steamed brussel sprouts...and of course YOU could serve it in a thong and high heels...that would be a big hit

For some long-range sniper missions, a .50 caliber (12.7mm) round just isn’t big enough. The Barrett company, which pioneered the development of the modern .50 caliber sniper rifle, has now built a 25mm sniper rifle (although shoulder cannon may be a more precise term), the XM109. Ten prototype weapons are being made available for testing this month. Designed to destroy light armor, the XM109 is a semi-automatic 25mm rifle that has a 17.6 inch long barrel and an overall length of 46 inches. It weighs in at 46 pounds and has a 5 round magazine. In comparison, the Barrett M107 .50 caliber sniper rifle in general use today has a 29 inch barrel, overall length of 57 inches, and weighs in at a mere 32 pounds, with a magazine capacity of 10 rounds. A spiked bipod is included to steady the XM109 for firing and it has a standard M1319 accessory rail for scopes and other accessories. Barrett will either sell a complete rifle or supply upgrade kits to convert the M107 .50 sniper rifle over to the 25mm configuration, replacing the bolt, upper receiver, and magazine. To complement this “rifle” is a computerized sight called the BORS (Barrett Optical Ranging Sighting System). BORS is specifically designed for long-range shooting at 1,000 meters and longer distances, measuring and compensating for air pressure, temperature, and the angle of the weapon in relation to the target. Precisely compensating for all these factors and successfully hitting the target on the first shot is possible, but difficult. BORS is designed to take all the sweat-math work out of first-round shots, leaving the operator with simply dialing in the distance to target, selecting the ammunition type, and putting the cross-hairs on the target. Future versions of BORS will incorporate a rangefinder, and night vision capability. Effective distance armor piercing “lethality” for the rifle is listed at 2000 meters. The 25mm round is derivative design from the AH-64 Apache helicopter’s M789 high-explosive dual purpose (good against armor and personnel) 30mm ammunition and will penetrate at least 50 millimeters of armor plating, making it capable of destroying light armored vehicles, SCUD launchers, and other equipment. According to the ammunition manufacturer, the 25mm round is 2.5 times more effective at destroying targets than a .50 caliber armor-piercing round. At some point the system will also be integrated to use 25mm airburst ammunition designed for the OCWS. One drawback to the weapon is the heavy recoil of the round. Barrett is working on reducing the recoil. Finally, a company slide describes the weapon as a “payload rifle” and also alludes to the ability to remove the muzzle break and replace it with a sound suppressor.

“war on terror” = “war on due process” ?
warpedskydiver replied to mikkey's topic in Speakers Corner
I second the motion just to kill our enemies in battle. Some of you may disagree but will never have to face our enemies nor ever be affected by them..doe's that make the Jihadi's and other terrorists of this world any less dangerous because some people feel they are mistreated?....the notion that our enemies deserve any fair treatment other that to be killed outright is rediculous at best. I wonder how many of those individuals who are so damned concerned about the welfare of detainees ( who are Alive! by the way) would be allowed to live if any of them were ever captured by terrorists or for that matter any hostile nation. All you would get is beheaded at best and I mean a slow painful sawing of of your head at the neck as you bleed out, and death doesnt come quick either. The bright side is at least Al Jazeera will be playing your hit video over and over so all the world and your family can see it at naseum. SO WHO'S SIDE DO YOU WANNA BE ON? -
the earlier statement was an attempt at sarcastic humor...as for my knowledge of firearms I only know a little bit
-
it would be much more effective to just be allowed to carry assault rifles...that way you can kill any lousy waste of skin criminal before he actually succeeds in killing or harming any innocent people animals or property...what does the criminals right to inlict pain and suffering on others supercede our right to defend ourselves and others?

U.N. Landmines PSA - not showing in U.S.
warpedskydiver replied to wildblue's topic in Speakers Corner
Maybe it might be pertinent to read exactly what the following states. Also keep in mind this thought how do you propose to enforce security in the situations where a minefield is the best option to be had? On 16 May 96, The President of the United States announced a national policy that eliminates or restricts the use of antipersonnel land mines, beginning with those that do not self-destruct but eventually including all types. This policy is in effect now. It applies to all Infantry units either engaged in, or training for, operations worldwide. Current US policy allows the use of non-self-destructing antipersonnel land mines only along internationally recognized national borders or in established demilitarized zones, specifically for the defense of Korea. Such mines must be within an area having a clearly marked perimeter. They must be monitored by military personnel and protected by adequate means to ensure the exclusion of civilians. US national policy also forbids US forces from using standard or improvised explosive devices as booby traps. Except for units in Korea or units going there for a designated exercise, this policy specifically forbids all training on or actual employment of inert M14 and M16 antipersonnel land mines either at the unit's home station or at a Combat Training Center except in the context of countermine or de-mining training. No training with live M14 mines is authorized, and training with live M16 mines is authorized only for soldiers actually on Korean soil. This policy does not affect the standard use of antivehicular mines. It does not affect training and use of the M18 Claymore mine in the command detonated mode. For the immediate future, units may still use self-destructing antipersonnel mines, such as the ADAM, when authorized by the appropriate commander. Under proper command authority, units may still emplace mixed minefields containing self-destructing antipersonnel land mines used to protect antivehicular land mines, for example, MOPMS or Volcano. Users of this manual should consider all references to antipersonnel mines and the employment of minefields in the light of the national policy limiting the use of non-self-destructing antipersonnel land mines. Readers should not construe any uses of the terms mines, antipersonnel obstacle, protective minefield, or minefield contained in this manual to mean an obstacle that contains non-self-destructing antipersonnel land mines, or booby traps.
