The Oakleys might serve you better as you aren't working in a hot climate and may see more rain than the average consumer. Oakleys may hold up better in wet environments.

Here is a good article on the 300H&H The meat hunter does not like bloodshot meat and hence impact velocity is important so that a lot of meat does not go to waste - impact velocity should not be higher than around 2,200 fps and thus the 300 Ultra Remington Magnum will bruise a lot of meat when game is shot between 200 to 300 yds. Look at this table for a comparison:- (200 gr bullet, BC = 0.556) 300 H&H MUZZLE 200 YDS 250 YDS 300 YDS 350 YDS Velocity - fps 2,700 2,384 2,308 2,233 2,159 Bullet Drop Z=200 0 -3.2 -8.1 -14.7 Wind Drift @ 10 mph 4.1 5.9 8.2 300 Ultra Rem Mag MUZZLE 200 YDS 250 YDS 300 YDS 350 YDS Velocity - fps 3,025 2,602 2,522 2,443 2,365 Bullet Drop Z=200 0 -2.5 -6.2 -11.3 Wind Drift @ 10 mph 3.5 5.1 7.0 The 300 H&H is ideal at hunting distances between 250 and 350 yards - at 350 yards the Ultra Rem Magnum is roughly doing the velocity that the 300 H&H is doing at 200 yds and it would cause more meat damage as the impact velocity is too high and shots beyond 350 yards are less common and more risky in terms of accuracy, bullet drop and last but not least the wind drift all of which get progressively worse the longer the shot. If shots are common at 300 to 350 yds then one should rather zero the rifle at 300 yds to minimize hold over. Congratulations you have a nice big game rifle.

Updates on Keith from SDC landing accident.
warpedskydiver replied to diverdriver's topic in The Bonfire
Why don't we all ask Keith when he is up to it. That will end all speculation. -
Oh hell, I didn't mean it to sound that way.

It was probably used in a murder. No it means it was manufactured before firearms were serialized. Most firearms did not have a serial number unless it was a military weapon(inventory reasons) I may be wrong but I beleive it not until 1968 that ALL firearms had to have a serial number. Remington is worthless when it comes to information.

Contact the NRA Museum in fairfax VA they are the world's experts on fireamrms and have helped me identify a Remington that Remington could not help me with. BTW they are fast. Numrich gun parts is a good source for old parts.

Dem's Bid Fails to Drop Lieberman From Rolls
warpedskydiver replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
Bid Fails to Drop Lieberman From Rolls Friday, August 25, 2006 11:13 AM EDT The Associated Press NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Sen. Joe Lieberman won't have to fight to stay in the Democratic Party, after all. The state's Democratic registrar rejected a petition by peace activists to strike Lieberman from the party rolls on Thursday. State law allows for expulsion from the party if the member runs for office under another political banner. The senator lost the Democratic primary and is running in the general election as part of a new party, Connecticut for Lieberman. Had Registrar Sharon Ferrucci agreed to the petition, she could have scheduled a hearing in which Lieberman would have to explain why he should remain in the party that nominated him for the vice presidency in 2000. The authority to expel a party member "should be rarely and cautiously exercised," Ferrucci said. "The Democratic Party is founded upon principles of inclusion and diversity of opinion and the promotion of debate," Ferrucci said. "I do not intend to summon anyone enrolled in my party to defend the good faith and bona fide nature of their affiliation with the Democratic Party." Lieberman lost the Aug. 8 primary to businessman Ned Lamont, who criticized Lieberman for his support of the Iraq war and said he was too close to Republicans and President Bush. Since losing the primary, most Democratic Party leaders have abandoned Lieberman and endorsed Lamont. A Quinnipiac University poll last week showed Lieberman with a 12-point lead over Lamont, although another poll this week shows the race much closer. Republican Alan Schlesinger had only single-digit support in both polls. -

Rethinking the Neo-Con strategy re. Iran.
warpedskydiver replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
would be a togher prospect but the evidence would lead back to a country in the end. Don't wanna get annihilated?, don't sell your fissable material, or weapons. I am not saying it is right or wrong I am saying that IS what WILL HAPPEN. This scenario has been gamed many times with the same outcome, a huge area of the planet becomes DEAD. -
Rethinking the Neo-Con strategy re. Iran.
warpedskydiver replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
Any country or individuals contemplating a nuclear attack on the US will also know for certain what the response will be. There won't be any political debate and there won't be any whining that we need to consider why they did it. There will be a disproportionate attack that will simply annihilate all life in that region and those surrounding it will suffer as well. -
Very nice

sleeping around is a negative connotation in reference to not actually knowing your sexual partners and also hints at one night stands, instead of sex parties.

One of twenty-five topless pornstars rides on a motorcycle down Auckland, New Zealand's Queen... Bare-Breasted Porn Stars Ride Choppers Wednesday, August 23, 2006 4:09 PM EDT The Associated Press AUCKLAND, New Zealand (AP) — Two dozen bare-breasted porn stars paraded on motorcycles and military vehicles down the main street of New Zealand's biggest city on Wednesday after beating efforts by Auckland officials to prevent the promotional stunt. Thousands of people, many of them clicking away with cell phone cameras, lined the street for the parade by male and female porn actors, most semi-clad in black leather, to publicize an erotica show which opens in Auckland later this week. The crowd — four deep in some places — was reportedly bigger than that for the city's annual Santa Parade at Christmas time. Organizer Steve Crow, a local multimillionaire porn movie distributor and producer, earlier had won approval for the parade from the city council, infuriating it's conservative mayor and several councilors. Mayor Dick Hubbard said he would review local bylaws in a bid to prevent any more topless parades in Auckland. "We do want a vibrant city (but) I think the parade does our image harm rather than good," Hubbard said. Quote too bad we can't post hi res pics, or video

QuoteI believe you live in one of the most laid back states in America regarding weapons so talking to you when we live in an area of tight control is never going to have us seeing eye to eye.Quote Actually Illinois has some of the most repressive gun laws in the country. And now they want more laws to outlaw some firearms because they look scary to the media and politicians. I like seeing a politician holding an AK47 in the air at a press conference. Seeing your local politicians repeatedly breaking state and federal laws, by waving a full auto weapon (that is unlicensed/no tax stamp, and non transferable) is a great idea, there is then more than one corroborated offense on record, and therefore a longer prison term for the anti gun offender.

if the suspicious men had clean shaven bodies, and were reciting prayers would anyone then feel differently?
