I am not sure of that due to the fact they did not have to half way around the world in order to fight. I am in complete agreement that there efforts were at least equal to other nations contribution in the war. I know for a fact the Soviets had far more losses, this in part was initially due to outdated tactics, and weaponry. (Horses vs Tanks) (Airpower) initially (Field Commanders) The Soviets were far numerically superior, but were hindered by their own military leaders and Stalin himself. There were great leaders in the patriotic war but those were field officers like Marshall Zukhov. The Germans were hindered by none other than Adolf himself, without his meddling the Germans would have probably won in the east. (by not fighting on two fronts in that scale)

That does not make alot of sense. Alot of WWII vets gave a shit, but they had no choice, kill or be killed.

I know people that love being a Soldier or Sailor tec. and have fought very well in combat, but don't just plain old enjoy killing. They would be far happier being otherwise occupied. That does not mean they will not do what needs to be done, that IS their JOB.

exactly and you can read what it was like for the germans in that timeframe in Guy Sajer's Book "The Forgotten Soldier" It was actually a great but disturbing and sad book. It goes to show us all that nobody likes war, no matter how good you are at it.

I'm sure the Nazis had the same attitude about the French, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Czech and Polish terrorists freedom fighters in WWII. However, now that Germany doesn't occupy these nations any more we don't see bunches of Dutchmen terrorizing Germany. People don't naturally hate others living 5 thousand miles away. We have been meddling in Middle East affairs for generations and that's why they hate us. Even their national boundaries were imposed on them by the west. Remember how the Colonial Americans resented British interference in their affairs? If we'd just try minding out own business for a while... Youre equating the mindset of all of Europe to that of the Arabic countries, WOAH! Iran has far more in common with europe than the Arabic countries do.

1. Thomas Jefferson 2. Theodore Roosevelt 3. Abraham Lincoln 4. Ronald Reagan 5. Harry Truman All of them had done a few things badly but their intent and their desire to protect us as a nation were never understood in their own time. All of them were brilliant and had a deep sense of honor and respect. Some of them are very remarkable in that they amounted to anything at all, let alone reaching adulthood. Jefferson may have been the toughest of them all. Lincoln was nothing more than a child slave. Teddy was a weakling child and sickly. Reagan was so poor as a child if he and his brother failed in their hunting efforts on any day their family did not eat. Truman was hated by his own party and Roosevelt could not stand him, he didn't take shit from anybody and by all accounts care deeply for the men in his charge as president. FDR and Wilson may have been the worst. LBJ may have been almost as bad.
