  1. I'd choose looking stupid over dangerous every day of the week. And concerning looks, I don't see how the normal GoPro mounts look more stupid then your buddy's mount. "Looks" pretty much the same to me. "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  2. Hi there! I'm about to sell a Vigil 1 from December 2006 to a friend of mine, but I don't really know what to ask for it. I do have a price in mind, but I don't know if it's a reasonable amount. How much do you think I could/should ask for a Vigil 1 from december 2006 (ballpark)? I did a few searches, but didn't find what I was looking for. Thanks in advance! Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Blues! "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  3. A low-timer (who didn't follow instructions and left the aircraft too soon) met a very experienced wingsuiter. Someone without experience nearly took out an unsuspecting person. In a way, you could say I'm of of those low timers . Just uploaded this for discussion's sake. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0awROpBXp2Q "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  4. I'd love to be at that meeting! Supernice work dude! I can't wait 'till this game comes out!
  5. Goddamn you Jarno, you're making me drool all over the place...
  6. Yes you're right again
  7. I have some photos of vintage wingsuits on my PC. PM me your email adress If you wish and I'll be more than happy to send them your way.
  8. Thats good to know. Then I'm gonna try to focus more on that from now on. Thanks!
  9. I known, and you're right. At the time when we arrived at skydive Spain, I had 6 wingsuit jumps. It had also been about 3-4 months since I had made a wingsuit jump, so I wanted to take things easy and not rush anything. It was my intention to fly at a distance first, just learn to follow the formation, and when that went well, move to the next step. I wanted to take things one at a time. There were even a few jumps where I basically flew with my arms on my back, to get to the group, and couldn't keep up (I'm very light). That being said, I think I still could have gotten closer safely, but obviously didn't, probably because I didn't really knew how to do it at the time. Thanks for the feedback!
  10. Awesome! Thank you for posting DSE! In my humble, and low/inexperienced opinion, I think this is very usefull information for wingsuiters (beginners and experienced alike) at DZ's near bodies of water like rivers, lakes, seas, etc. Personally I think I'd be nice to see in the future, when wingsuit instruction is given at DZ's near water, that this information is standard. Just my 2 cents.
  11. Thanks! I agree. You don't see much (if anything) with the GoPro when flying at a distance, but just yesterday I bought a second hand camera that I'ill be using in the future. So the next time I post a video, the wide angle/distance issue will be gone!
  12. For your enjoyment, here's the first wingsuit movie I've made using my own footage.
  13. Call Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer. He'll fix it for ya "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  14. I think the last poll, "Makeup is mandatory for rodeo and circus clowns", implies that it's not mandatory at all. "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  15. +1 "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  16. I for one would love to come! I'd don't know for sure though If I can make it. I'll talk with my teammates about it! :) Blues! "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  17. we are moving away form the original thread, but would you consider an Electra as Elliptical ? Would you consider it as a HP canopy (or too much of an HP canopy for wingsuiting), specially at that wingloading ? For those unfamiliar with the Electra, it is more or less the same as a Silhouette, 9cell, slightly tapered, half F111, half ZP. From what I know it is a forgiving (that's mainly why I bought it) "semi-elliptical" canopy and like you say more or less the same as a Silhouette, 9cell, slightly tapered, half F111, half ZP. I really like the canopy. Nice openings and it doesn't seem to go flat in a twist that fast. Not with me hanging under it anyways
  18. I do admit that I have pulled a few times before without my legwing collapsed completely. I definitely see this as a possible cause of the twists I had. Thanks for the advice on the twists! "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  19. I understand and it does make sense, thanks for explaining
  20. Then don't only geek to the guy that did the flyby but also ask him stuff! :) @Jarno: Dude! Students are waiting! I actually only just heard about it once in Spain. I knew I had time left so I quickly geeked him. "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  21. I've heard about this technique, but I don't really understand it... "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  22. I know, but I sadly don't have an edtting program right now. Otherwise I would have definitely cut out the beginning ;) "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
