  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dc_tiZ3P19c During a wingsuit training jump, practicing barrel rolls and wingsuit-style pulls, my tracking pants blew up. I just did a wingsuit-style dummy pull where after I could not open or separate my feet anymore. This is when I knew something went wrong, so after about 5 seconds I turn and track back towards the dropzone. It is then that my pants blew up entirely, making me go head low. I decided to keep a tracking position and pull like a wingsuiter would since I could not separate my feet. I think this happened because I lost 40 pounds in about a month, slimming my waist down. that way air got into my pants at the waist area, exploding it from within. (at least that's what I think has happened) Comment, critics, feedback ... all welcome. (Also posted this in wingsuit forum) "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"

  3. Apparently, after the Burj-Dubai, which is currently at 818 meters the tallest man-made structure in the world (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burj_Dubai), an even bigger skyscraper (or skyscrapers) will be built, the Burj Mubarak al-Kabir for example, reportedly in Kuwait, and the nakheel tower http://www.luxurylaunches.com/buildings/burj_mubarak_alkabir_in_kuwait_will_be_the_tallest_building_in_the_world.php , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Burj will both be reportedly over 1000 meters. Other links of the Al-Burj: http://www.realtyna.com/dubai_real_estate/al-burj.html, http://www.burjdubaiskyscraper.com/Al_Burj/al_burj.html There are even projects that reach even higher, like the space elevator, some crazy idea to catch an asteroid, and attach a cable to it, and many other more insane projects are on the way http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proposed_tall_buildings_and_structures I think after the idea of a building like the Burj-Dubai, I think building structures taller and taller are inevitable. It must be awesome to see what projects will actually be realized, and which ones will be jumpable "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"

  7. I voted the second option, but that was because I was thinking about my own gear. I have an Atom 00 container that is modified to be freefly friendly. I have these little flaps that go under the pin flap to get the pin unexposed to the wind. But on every single jump I worry that when I sitfly for example, the small modified flaps to keep the pin flap in place might fail. I don't know why this is. I've been told by numerous instuctors at my dropzone that freeflying with my rig is no problem at all. Still I touch those small flaps and tuck them under the main pin flap firmly on every load many many times. that being said. I still think that when using my own rig, the risk of premature deployment might be higher in freefall then on climb out because I don't jump in large groups yet. However If I was using newer gear, I would have probably voted for the first option. "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"

  11. Here I will give you my opinion of the movie, keep in mind I that have only 125 skydives, so really I know next to nothing about wingsuiting or video-editing. As soon as Fly The Line 2 arrived, it went from my hands to the DVD player instantly and I must have seen it 3 times by now at least. Compared to Fly the Line 1, Fly The Line 2 looks like it's been made in Hollywood. There are 4 sections. Every section is in high definition and very good quality! The first part is the film itself, 'Fly The Line 2'. Some very nice jumps edited together with some nice tunes. Mostly V3's used I think, but I'm not sure of that. The second part, 'Flights 2', are all the individual jumps from the first part shown one after another. Again mostly V3's were used here used I think. The music here is very well chosen in my opinion! Personally I think it is also a very big plus that every jump is shown individually so that the viewer can really view the jump from exit to pilot chute extraction/pitch/deployment. Another very cool option is that if you change the 'language' of the DVD in this chapter, you can hear the actual RAW audio footage of every jump, which I personally think is awesome! The third part is a movie called 'Terrain Flying 2007' A compilation of jumps made in 2007 using V3's I belive and using all the same camera angles, Belly Mounted Cameras. I believe this video is also viewable/available on the web. The fourth part is called 'taking it slow', A compilation of jumps from the DVD. This Part was edited by Jarno Cordia and he did a very nice job at that. I hope to jump, with him sometime in my life. The entire DVD gave me spine shiverings at almost every jump. The combination of video footage with the chosen music and locations chosen is just sublime to say the least. If you are a BASE jumper, BASE enthusiast, or a flying squirrel fan, then this DVD is a MUST have for every single one of you. This is wingsuit flying at it's best, there are so many things we can still do and explore in this sport. I hope that some day I can make a tribute to that. I can't wait till fly The Line 3 comes out ;-) Blues everyone, and above all safe and fun flights! eli :)! "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"

  17. Sweet ! :) I'm having doubts if I have the financial resources to make a balloon jump with you guys, but I will definitely try. I'll send and email right now. Blues "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  18. Ah, too bad I'd love to make a jump with my tracking gear from a balloon and get that still air base jump-like feeling. And maybe even make a teeny tiny bit of distance
  19. found some funny ones as well. "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"

  22. Thanks, Ill definitely try those flips as well, didn't think of those
  23. I also try to convince as many friends as I can to go jumping with me :) So far only two have taken the bait. The first one never came back after his first jump because he landed into a concrete pole! I was on the same load. The jumpmasters should not have let him jump because the winds were really high IMO. The second one stopped before his AFF 7 (why I don't know) and now he doesn't want to start again because he'd have to pay the full course again. I started jumping at 17 myself. The sport might be dominated by 20 year olds but that is definitely not the case at my dropzone I think :) Not many people of my age there :) "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  24. This is definitely the case with me. I originally started skydiving because I wanted to fly a wingsuit and basejump. Since then my I have put my basejumping ambitions to a halt, but this is absolutely not the case with wingsuiting. It is something I absolutely will and must do in my life. I love how you put it into words in that msnbc segment about wingsuiting that I found on your website Jarno: "People often ask, you have to be a bit crazy to fly a wingsuit. Well, you don't have to be, but it does help" "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
  25. I hope I die with it :) Well thankee kind sir ^^ "In a mad world, only the mad are sane"
