  1. Ah 377, the eternal optimist
  2. Darn. I chose the wrong number . Now I will sit and sulk cos I'm feeling left out Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  3. Reading something on a completely different subject but for obvious (sad) reasons this paragraph made me think of this thread: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/24/magazine/mag-24Autism-t.html/?pagewanted=5&_r=1&smid=fb-nytimes Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  4. It's not the first time you made that claim either. I guess some of us have different opinions as to what constitutes "reasonable". Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  5. Jo, do you really, truly, honestly believe this? Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  6. I don't care who you are that there is funny shit! Matt Funny if you think laughing at d******nal people is funny. Between this and someone who doesn't realise age 3 is about when you are supposed to learn you are not the center of the world, I think this thread is about to go downhill again ...despite the best efforts of 377 and Sluggo (the voices of reason) and some other guys who can actually think things through rationally. (DEEP sigh....) Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  7. When I was doing coach jumps (for the RW jumps we need signed off for an A here) I went through a phase where I would also freeze, some kind of performance anxiety. One of my coaches had a hand signal for "relax" (kind of wiggling his hands). Sounds silly, but it would always make me laugh and then I would relax and do stuff right. Maybe something worth talking to your instructors about, not sure if they will feel another hand signal is a good idea at AFF level. Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  8. Maybe Georger does indeed think what you have been doing to the Cooper investigation is copy writing it Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  9. yes they do. One or the other is always on the chicks or tending them. If both are there one tends the chicks while the other sits off to the side and they trade places at least once a day. Barely a day goes by without one or the other taking off and bringing back food. When one leaves they may be gone for quite a long time before returning. I havent picked up a solid pattern yet except food always shows up within 48 hours of the last time. Sometimes you can hear the other one near by (like right now chirping) but not showing up in the camera. The stamina of these birds is impressive. Seeing as we are off-topic ... when we lived upcountry I came home one day to find a "kwevoel" or grey loerie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_Go-away-bird) hopping around on the lawn ...with 2 cats in close and keen attendance. The birds nested in a tree in our garden and I had hardly ever seen them on the ground, much less playing tag with the cats. I looked up at the nest... and there was the other adult, clearly trying to teach the chick to fly, so I can only assume the one on the ground was trying to distract the cats from the chick. I've looked at birds in a different light since that day. Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  10. Beard is a nice way to hide from a circulated sketch... then again, it was the 70s. (Even my father had a beard then.) Eyes from that pic look very different to the sketches, but...they are just sketches. Georger, re your comparison of younger vs older - can you do one for the sketch? (Or did I miss one?) I like that banner from one of the other pics: "Peace is patriotic". Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  11. These attempts to splice faces just don't do it for me. I'd rather see a side-by-side full face vs sketch. And I'm sure Georger would like to see the ears. Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  12. ...yes. With a result that looks rather Frankensteinish (you know - bits cobbled together from different people). Was it meant to actually try prove something?? Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  13. Me too. And I echo your response to Georger re the tie issue... come on Georger, pretend it's elementary school and not graduate school - spoonfeed us Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  14. You know, Jo, the rest of us have been enjoying the peace here. Why do you go picking fights with Jerry again? There can be no other reason for you to "inform" us of this other than to get Jerry angry. Is it any wonder Sheridan won't post with this type of crap going on? Jerry, for everyone's sake, please PLEASE ignore Jo's baiting... just don't respond... please. Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  15. I though that was obvious when I saw it - SheriDAN. Like someone named Albert might call himself Bert, or like Michelle becomes Shell or Shelly. (and Sherry probably isn't a desirable short form of a name for a macho guy is it?!) Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  16. I'd forgotten about that bit! Yes, that certainly does raise eyebrows... edited to add: of course that makes us wonder: 1) about how you keep your loafers on jumping a jet; and 2) what all that stuff was about finding a shoe in a field... Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  17. The Bob and Jane story sounds too much to me like it was designed to fit known facts. Nevertheless, I support 377's request for a trial amnesty for Snow. I cannot remember from before if there was any note that Peterson was a smokejumper as well? Not that it really matters I don't think - his other training more than qualifies him for a successful Cooper jump. Just the little issue, of course, of him saying it was not him..! Certainly, I agree with 377's opinion on his alibi. It fits our longstanding theory of course - that Cooper though American was not resident in the US at the time, which was why he was not "missed" when FBI began questioning ...US residents. 18. polygraphs don't show up as a lie if the subject believes what they are saying - even if it is not the truth. but i really wish this thread could get back to cooper. can't we spin off a separate "duane weber" thread and leave one to focus on cooper? in the unlikely event of duane being proven to be cooper, we will all apologise to jo, but in the meanwhile this thread continues to go nowhere fast. Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  19. I found the knees easier too. As for prop-blast.. after a while you barely notice it anymore, and then you wonder "what did I get so hung up about before?"!! Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  20. Thanks Matt Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  21. Matt, can you summarize the explanation? I think I am leaning more and more towards this option. Blevins... are you trying to tell us that you are now comfortably numb? Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  22. i remember lamenting our crash-out of the semis at the world cup so that was four years ago... which makes me realise how long this thread has really been going on!! will we still be arguing over the same old stuff when CWC 2015 comes around?!! gotta say the cricket has been more exciting than what's going on here, in general http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc_cricket_worldcup2011/content/current/story/505775.html Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  23. John Cusack, cos I like watching him, but the role might be a bit 'boring' for him. I think Kevin Spacey is a good choice ...or William H Macy. Yeah, Macy would probably do it well, if we have a somewhat conflicted Cooper
  24. forgive us if we don't hold our breath. No offence to anyone, but farflung's posts are about the only thing worth reading here these days... despite 377's valiant efforts to get things back on track. Me, I'm just too busy right now to be able to really spend any time searching for stuff ... PS: I really thought Treat Williams was pin-up material as Berger, but once he cut that shining streaming gleaming [flaxen] waxen hair I lost interest. I'm pretty sure I saw the DB Cooper movie when it came out though Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  25. ..and once again the thread degenerates into a discussion about Duane Weber, rather than Cooper. Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
