  3. When I was a kid, I skiied frequently here in my home state of Colorado. I also rode bikes. Back then, no one wore helmets. Today, nearly everyone wears a helmet while riding a bicycle. Sadly, almost no one wears a helmet skiing. The vast majority of skiing tragedies could be stopped with this simple thing. Also, if you ever see anyone go head-first into a snow drift or a tree well, please pull them out first, before you start laughing. One cannot breathe when his/her head is buried in snow. There's plenty of time to laugh at him/her afterwards. here in switzerland, you're really a loner if you DONT wear a helmet; i was really surprised the last time i hit the slopes, but i do go hardly anymore these days.. i really think that's a good trend actually!
  4. This is all too common with PwC and Accenture and others (I worked for PWC for a while). The old bait and switch. License to print money. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  5. My dad worked for Sperry back in 78 when we lived in San Diego. I was too small to remember but I think it was a pretty big company at the time. Never try to eat more than you can lift

  9. The full test is much MUCH bigger - from memory its hundreds of questions, and I think it marks on a scale? Anyway - I have no real problem with the MBTI - it can lead to some interesting conversations and help a little with determining team makeup as Wendy says. The problem comes when people read too much into it and think that everyone fits in their little box and that they can then predict and control everything. Same goes for all the other similar categorisations. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  10. In fairness - I don't think thats actually what they are saying, they are just trying to provide help in their own way. If that works for some, so be it. Personally I think they are misguided and thats the money would be better spent elsewhere but everyone has an opinion.... Never try to eat more than you can lift
  11. No shit. Why? The vast, overwhelming majority of people are not having kids for any of your three "biggest issues". I am with you to a certain extent here - societal expectations annoy me too. That said - now happily expecting my first in about 3 weeks. We get that you don't like kids, that's fine. However, lots of people do. Never try to eat more than you can lift

  13. Unfortunately common sense is not necessarily common (in any population - not specifically gun owners.) Witness people leaving guns lying around where young kids pick them up and shoot them etc. There are limits on the 2nd whether you choose to believe in them or not. The argument is where that line is drawn. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  14. a) Why is he wearing 2 watches and b) Look on youtube for "Steven Seagal runs like a girl" Fair play to him for his Aikido however. Never try to eat more than you can lift

  16. I'm all for a Cruz-Palin ticket. Hillary's prayers would be answered. Heck, even Joe B. could win in that race. JerryBaumchen +1. I would love to watch that election coverage. Never try to eat more than you can lift

  21. Just be glad she wasn't a Muslim. NYC could be under lockdown and BHO would be hiding in some underground North American Air Defense Command bunker out west. I thought Obama was a muslim and therefore working with her? Never try to eat more than you can lift
  22. Yep this seems a bit mid boggling to me - he seems to think the two options are a) Kill them or b) Adopt them without any middle ground. Odd. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  23. Reminds me of a scene from blazing saddles..... ETA - someone got there before me. Just saw the other thread Never try to eat more than you can lift
  24. As it happens I don't, but primarily for fiscal reasons. It doesn't make any sense. And it doesn't help with prison overcrowding which is what you were implying (I think?). As for giving them a card and baking them a cake - well that was just weird. Stick them somewhere with very high walls for life. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  25. Huh? WTF does that have to do with, well, anything? That's one of the least coherent arguments I have ever seen (and in here, that's saying something) Never try to eat more than you can lift
