If i am reading you right then i don't think your logic follows. The odds only multiply if you have this scenario which is a AAD fired reserve. The primary reason you would have this is due to not pulling it yourself. I.e. No AAD - probability of dying: (f'in close to 1) AAD - probability of dying - much less than 1. The only reason i could thnk of where this argument holds is where you RELY on an AAD to pull for you when you are completely capable of pulling yourself. Which as some of the far more experienced guys have said, is an extremely bad idea! Or am i missing something? (on a lighter note Mat, Happy Christmas and i'll see ya next year!!) Boooo!!! Actually i think thats fair enough. A kitesurfer i know who is 15 or 16 now was told by his dad he could kitesurf as much as he want as long as he kept his grades up. So he did distance learning whil training in south africa, gets good grades and kitesurfs all day long. Oh and incidentally for anyone who knows the sport, his name is Aaron Hadlow and he just won the world tour! That kind of incentive works for some..... Never try to eat more than you can lift

I liked Harry Potter until I read "His Dark Materials" books and thety were soooooo much better!! I think the Harry Potter film also ruined the books for me - imagination is frequently better than celluloid! Never try to eat more than you can lift -

Just FYI, I have a vector and a mate has the X-Lander, and my vector has lasted way better than his. And than includes a year (well 8 months anyway) of working on a beach with it and lots of abuse. Mine is pretty battered but still working well. In his the strap has perished, and the body is looking pretty manky. (Oh and the rubber vector strap fits over a wetsuit as well - but thats probably not a consideration for most!) As far as jumping goes, i don't use mine as a primary in freefall, i prefer the easy to read at a glance analogue for that, but i have used it to measure heights lost in turns and the like under canopy for which it seems pretty accurate. opinions may vary though. Or you could get a neptune...... Never try to eat more than you can lift

Glad you are ok dave - sounds like a lucky escape and sharp reactions on your part. Last time i fell off the guy (in a big van) actually saw me coming and aimed for me, knocked me off, ran over my foot, stopped, looked..... and drove off!! One knackered foot and written off bike later.... With the tyres, you might be ok as i doubt the tyres on your scooter (that phrase always makes me laugh ) are soft racing tyres but probably best to check em out. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-p5nN9aO2Fz8/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=500KCA420I I changed my head unit about a week before this came in - i have just a standard line in but this would be by far the best way to do it. Certainly in the UK line in on a stock radio is very unusual (unless of course you have a jag or something with a top of the range blaupunkt anyway!) Never try to eat more than you can lift

If skydiving didn't exist. . . .what sport would you do?
Stumpy replied to Bigwallmaster's topic in The Bonfire
Surfing and kitesurfing..... but then i still do both of them anyway Never try to eat more than you can lift -
Almost as good as that one in the film that i think had wesley snipes in, where the cute tandem master chick is walking around on the ground and doesn't appear to have any risers attached..... If you look hard enough on here you'll probably find the pick Or point breaks 4 minute freefall and conversation in midair, or cutaway's perfect headdown after a couple of tunnel sessions and about 3 jumps Gotta love "skydiving" movies (and yes, i'm afraid i will still watch them....) Good luck PJ - enjoy your "Post-op" meal!!! Never try to eat more than you can lift -
I had the top of the range Salomon last year and they were comfy as slippers!!! I think its like anything - if they fit your feet then go for it - i personally can't wear Vans for example coz tehy are just the wrong shape. As for Flow, I don't think there should be too much problem, however again i think your feet have to be the right shape for them. I couldn't dial out the heel lift i was getting in Flow Bindings no matter which boots i tried, flows own or anything else, but i have a mate who swears by them. That was a shame as i think as a concept the flows are so convenient and are superb. Just make sure you try them in the shop and REALLY try to move your boot in the binding - w would suggest you screw the binding to the board, step into it, then get someone else to stand on the board while you try and pull your foot back out. If it doesn't move and its comfy then you are onto a winner. hope that helps, dave Never try to eat more than you can lift
