  6. Only makes sense in the UK: "I'm sorry drinkstable, i haven't had a cu*t all night" Never try to eat more than you can lift
  7. I did like the fact that he made a speech about environmentalism and minimising your carbon footprint,..... and then about 24 hours later jumped on a socking great big jumbo jet (probably first class!) to barbados! Do as i say and not as i do..... Never try to eat more than you can lift
  8. hey Regan - i've got a couple of good new kitesurf/ surf dvd's if you want something a bit different?! Never try to eat more than you can lift
  9. Well lots/ 2 - whatever. Bigway has jumped all over the world, including working on dropzones across the planet. Skreamer has jumped in more places than you probably even can think of. Both have way more experience to be making a comment on something you obviously know nothing about, Anyway, i've had enough - you aren't listening. (BTW i like Langar and jump there frequently, as well as many other places) Never try to eat more than you can lift
  10. Very first hit on google. http://www.news24.com/News24/World/Iraq/0,6119,2-10-1460_1979484,00.html Never try to eat more than you can lift
  11. Does anyone else think this thread has got pretty funny?? Lok - sorry but you're making me laugh. There are lots of posters on this thread who know FROM EXPERIENCE what they are talking about, yet you continue to ignore them?? Never try to eat more than you can lift
  12. Do any of you guys ever use RAW? I know you lose out on absolute frame rate but you can still get a respectable number of pictures on a jump. I'm not thinking tandem pics so much where speed and ease is an issue, but if you are shooting creative, or team pics? Never try to eat more than you can lift
  13. Wow - thats some clever stuff!!! I'm guessing none of that stuff comes cheap....???! Never try to eat more than you can lift
  14. I used to kitesurf VERY seriously. Couldn't keep up both, especially not with doubled up equipment costs, so the kitesurfing gear had to go. I still surf reasonably frequently though. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  15. ANd if he posts it 74,000 times then you are that much more likely to believe it. Its like the button to call a lift - everyone knows if you press it loads of times really quickly the lift comes faster Never try to eat more than you can lift
  16. Thats a little simplistic, photograpers always used to touch up images in the darkroom, i did it myself - dodging and burning, stuff like that. Admittedly thats not what is happening here but people tend to forget that to get the best pictures possible there has always been some element of post processing. Photoshop and digital just takes it to a new level. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  17. True - although even with the profits it doesn't seem to stop our share price being down the toilet! At the tunnel in about 3 hours - just chilling this morning Where are you Tash? Never try to eat more than you can lift
  18. Actually, there is a lot more to it than that. As another poster further up said, there are actual process issues that prevent cheques clearing instantly, not least the fact that most banks don't control all of the process. We are currently looking at how to speed this up - electronic imaging and things like that, but this is not an easy thing to do, especially in the bank i work for that is a mish mash of other banks it has bought over the last 30 years and has a nightmare systems architecture. We do now have straight through payments on cards, but that is only as fast as the bank we are paying or being paid by. No - we need to make a LOT of money in order to satisfy the shareholders. Sorry, but like it or not banks are businesses and operate as such. (Although - i hate to think what the salary bill is for my bank with 80,000 + staff!) Never try to eat more than you can lift
  19. No cheddar is made in cheddar gorge in england, and it has loads of different flavours and strengths and is gorgeous. (Unless you go to the US in which case its made of plastic) Swiss cheese in the US is the same just with holes in. Edited - I have stilton on burgers.. Yum Never try to eat more than you can lift
  20. f2.8 is as low as you need to go in the majority of cases. In the canon L glass there is a kind of division between the f4 and the f2.8 glass. If you are doing a lot of low light photography then the f2.8 is obviously preferable, but then you can kind of bodge round this by adding a stop onto your ISO, although you are then risking increased noise.... compromises. In general, the f2.8 lenses tend to be a good 500 dollars more than the f4 versions (check the 70-200 for a good example). If you do want a very fast but reasonably affordable lens, then this is a good option http://www.canon-europe.com/For_Home/Product_Finder/Cameras/EF_Lenses/Fixed_Focal_Length/EF_50mm_f14_USM/index.asp?ComponentID=25524&SourcePageID=26126#1 A lot of people term it "L glass without the L" One other thing to add is that IS can give you a stop or two extra to play with for hand holding - something like the 17-85 IS is a nice walkaround lens. For loads of really useful info that is Canon focussed, i subscribe to this forum: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/. They have pretty much got reviews and opinions on virtually every lens available for canon, as well as bodies, rumours of new stuff, etc etc etc. I know there are a couple of other skydiving photographers that post on there as well. Hope this helps Never try to eat more than you can lift
  21. Yeah - its come back through a wormhole in the time space continuum. The manual will be written in about 990 years Never try to eat more than you can lift
  22. While I believe you have the right to believe or disbelieve whatever you want, this is where I think your argument fails. I believe the order of the universe speaks of a master designer. However, I do not believe I can completely comprehend him. IF there was a God who could speak and create the world into existent, I'd have to be pretty arrogant to believe i should be able to figure Him out 100% EDITED TO ADD While I consider myself a Christian (a follower of Jesus Christ) I do not consider myself a fundamentalist by any stretch. Sorry but that is still not evidence, that is just what you believe. And so the circular argument begins again..... Never try to eat more than you can lift
  23. Yeah Grosfion had it right - if you have a car, up the A1 and turn left after peterborough, follow signs for the airfield At a guess its probably about 45 mins to an hour from the outskirts of London depending on how heavy your right foot is. Edited - actually probably a bit longer than that. http://www.multimap.com/map/aproute.cgi?client=public&startx=530121&starty=180516&endx=509312&endy=297380&startrd=&starttown=London&startpc=&startcountry=GB&endrd=&endtown=Sibson&endpc=&endcountry=GB&rn=GB&qs=q&starttime=09:46&input_rt=aproute_pan&lang= Never try to eat more than you can lift
