Yes Curses!!!! But it keeps me free to cook lots of stuff to go with/on the rice! ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

Here's how I do it: 1) 2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice (measure the rice first. If you do the water first, the rice sticks in the measuring cup). 2) Put the water in the pot and bring to a vigorous boil. This takes less than 5 minutes. 3) While the water is boiling, add butter or oil ( 1/4 stick?). This will keep the rice from sticking together. 4) Add salt to taste, and any other seasonings you want. 5) Once the water is boiling, add the rice. 6) Bring the whole mixture back to a vigorous boil. 7) Put the lid on, and turn the heat down to simmer. 8) Make sure you still see steam coming out of the top of the pot. 9) DO NOT, UNDER ANY CONDITIONS, LIFT THE LID. The rice/water will lose the heat. 10) Wait 20 minutes (for white rice). It takes this long for the rice to absorb the water. 11) Leaving the lid on, take the pot off the heat and put it to one side for 5 more minutes. 12) Rice should be ready to go. Enjoy! I agree. People without kids constantly ask when we will be jumping again.... my son is our priority now. Our lives are filled with taking him places and watching him grow. It is our job as his parents to be consumed with his activities! I would have it no other way! We will jump again.... but we'll wait until the time is right.
