So then can you tell me, why is the pressure different between the back and the side? What causes that? So then it might be possible the 9mm was incorrect? They got me to gasp a few times and then I got the tingles in my leg (3 of them) before the needle was in. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

Yes. When I play tetris (the original tetris), I get bored and will intentionally screw up so I can have a mess to clean up.

So now the docs are convinced that my perfectly normal fluid pressure done during last Friday's spinal tap was done incorrectly. He told me to make sure I was not sitting up because thanks to gravity, that could provide inaccurate results. I should lay on my side. Well, I told them that and they put me on my stomach. I assumed lying down was lying down. Now they want me to go back and have another. OMG but it was horrible!!! I want to be knocked out this time!!!! ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

We just got a king up from our queen. And it's got drawers under it. This makes it a tall bed. So I have a footstool to get in the bed when I don't feel like running and leaping in the bed. I tell people I feel like I climbed the beanstalk into the giant's house and am sleeping in his bed. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

It's that time of year. Football practice started for my 11 year old this last Monday. 2 hours a night 4-5 nights a week. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

The tap was horrible. May I never have one again. The pressure was normal. They said if that were the case the'll send me to a neurologist. My back hurts like hell. The gal doing it had issues and then the guy that took over made me feel sharp twangs in my leg. But they have got to figure out why my optic nerve is swollen. This vision thing is making me loopy. added: They did test the fluid for something but I don't know what. I should know that Monday afternoon. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

They mentioned my lower back but that is all I know. I have strict instructions to make sure they get the OPENING pressure reading so they don't release pressure and then take the reading. I love being told to tell the people about to stab me how to do it right. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

It's in 3 hours. My docs think I might have something called "intracranial hpyertension". Something about the cerebral fluid in my brain and spinal column not draining properly. My optical nerves are swollen causing some pretty funky vision and I can't get rid of this darn headache. Great to know many have a headache after the LP for up to 2 days. The spinal tap is to test the pressure of the fluid in my brain. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

Anyone here ever had a spinal tap (lumbar puncture)? Will I have to lay there for hours?? Will I hurt bad afterwards? Will I be able to drive home? ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
