  1. >I can't see that we've "won" anything. What the Hell!!! Americans need to develope a back bone and stop crying. Our troops are winning every engagement, stop this damn political correctness and let them take the gloves off and finish this thing. Hell Kallend son is on his way over there, let the kid do is job, support him and his buddies to kick some ass and take names. This is a war, to set all nations free from terriorist, (my personnal opionion), so lets kill im all, i.e. the bad guys. And for those of you that may be confused with your manhood, and the goodness of our nation we need to fight this battle and the others which will surely come and purge these bastards from the face of the earth to be remembered no more. The greatest generation, my father, being one, would be some what put out by the cheese eating weasel rats we have running around in the news lately complaning of the hardships we are facing over there. I see plenty of what we won over there and laying it all out before you now would do little good, as we have had this discussion many times before in previous threads. >Should we pull out now and cut our losses? Yea why the hell not, and while doing so we can trample on the graves of our sons and daughters who have given all TRYING to keep us free. As it turns out MOM and DAD don't have the courage of their children, much less dicipline. My answer to your question is NO!!!
  2. >...the Dems would be howling in the halls for my blood... Kind of like a pack of wild dogs...
  3. Thats what I like about Walt. Puts it in simple terms. I was thinking about the Barrett 50 Cal but the ammo is alittle expensive, maybe I should stay with the 308 round. And if we all went in together could we save by buying in bulk?
  4. >inferring that I'm a terrorist/communist/pansy liberal in the meantime makes you feel better, feel free to do so. No I will not take such liberties in labeling you as mentioned above. Terrorist, communist, or pansy liberal you are not, but liberal you are, and there is no shame in being so I would suppose. I'm, as you know stand on the other side of the fence, and will be the first to help you over when you deside you've had enough. (Thats true compassion) cheers
  5. When people only except news from monkeys at Air America, CNN and Newsweek...you should expect alot of blaster from the master. Yes sir the truth is coming out and the Dems as usual are over playing their hand. Bush in the last five years has budgeted more money to the Army Cor. of Engineerers for projects in the state of La. than that which was budgeted in the last five years of the Clinton Administration. La. was and is budgeted more tax dollars for engineering projects than any other state, such as Cal. which has 10 times the population and they came in a distant second.
  6. >Are you proud of how Bush handled this? Think he did a superb job? I understand there are many on DZ.Com who dislike Bush, hate Bush, loath Bush....but I find it hard to understand, how so many people blame one man for all the troubles of the world. There is a group of people called Senators and Congressmen, Men and Women who deside policy and determine a national budget and set priorities. I believe it was a Dem. I'll just call him Joe for now that came up with the idea of homeland security and both parties placed FEMA into this massive Government Screw up. That debate itself will be played out in weeks to come, by educated derelicts. But this discussion provides no value, helps solve not one problem, feed one child, or gives confort to a desperate mother looking for her child. But DZ.Com does allow skydivers the oppertunity to vent, because we sure as hell are not very good at actually solving this current problem. The good news is there are those individuals who may frequent DZ.Com that my be helping as volunteers, Doc. Nurses, Guardsmen at least they have put themselves into action while the rest of us type.
  7. >To what extent did the mayor fail to follow the plan, and to what extent was it impossible to follow the plan given the circumstances? A vision of hundreds of School Buses and city buses not being used comes to mind. Close the airport to all incoming commercial flights and begin airlifts of the elderly, sick and poor, those willing to leave their homes. 1.3 million residents, the majority got out but about 300,000+ did not. Therefore the buses, trains, and aircraft, military/commercail could have moved about half that number in a 24 hour period. But as I always say, "To error is human, to blame someone else is more human". When the city failed to get people evacuated the plan went to **&%#@ when the city flooded. Do not with hold good, from those in need when its in your power to do so. A 24 hour delay made all the difference. But hey I'm just a little fella who solves the worlds problems on DZ.com like everyone else here.
  8. The poll was in reference to the federal govern. response to the relief effort, but hey I understand your point which has nothing to do with this thread.
  9. >(a lot of us don't take what comes out of his mouth as gospel) Well, that maybe because your in the minority. Many of us Americans don't look at what happened in N.O. as the fault of the President or that he waited to long. You might like to look at recent polls other than CNN. The Gov's of every state have the authority to activate the National Guard, but the Federal Gov. was waiting for the Gov. of LA. to declare an emergency and request the Federal Governments assistance. The primary responsiblity falls on three primary groups. 1. Those who had the ability to leave but chose to stay. 2. The Mayor of N.O. for failing to follow the Evacution plans layed out by city and state officials. 3. The Gov. of LA. failure to mobilize the National Guard and declare a state of emergency until it was to late, and a request for federal assistance. All Monday morning Quarter Backs did little, but mostly nothing to help.
  10. Well, I must say I do since that is what I do for a living. (Diver at the NASA/NBL)
  11. >Much of the argument from the pro-gitmo crowd.... Much of us perfer Club-Gitmo. Ok, I'll let ya get back to your discussion.
  12. >In the end, only dindness matters In this case in the end should be some dead pieces of shit. No need to take prisoners just body bags.
  13. >You're talking from your hip Quade, and frankly, you don't know what yur talking about. Hey what do you mean, he does'nt know what he is talking about. He gets his information from Air America, and the daily fax from the DNC with talking points. Isn't that right Quade, don't let Gawain push you around like that. That even made me mad.
  14. You got a good thread going, but be careful you could end up having a target placed on your back. Cheers, more important things to do like finishing the canopy on the RV-7A and mount dual Blue Mountains on the panel.
  15. >Also the levees are the responsibility of the Federal government (Army Corps of Engineers, G.W. Bush, Commander in Chief), not the city. Well Kallend, there have been several admin. prior to the current one that could have upgraded the levees as well. I wonder how much effort was made and money spent prior to the Bush Admin. Obviously this was a protential problem that could have occured prior to Bush being in office. Also there is congress and the senate, that control the purse strings, any blame lie there? The Mayor of N.O. and the Gov. of LA, do they not have some responsiblity for the upkeep of their state and cities.
  16. >So the point being made there was you are sacrificing other people's real safety for your own perceived safety. Yes, because I take it upon myself to insure my safety and that of my family. The SUV being as you put it my own perceived safety. I'm however not responsible to insure your safety, that is left up to you. I will always however try not to be the one who wipes you out or your family. As in your statement there are many skydivers sacrificing other people's real safety for their own perceived safety, i.e. canopy collisions for one. But, I've only been in this sport for 8 months what do I know.
  17. >What if you hit a Civic from behind? It may be safer for you, but only because it's not for everybody else. Thats why I carry Liability Insurance. This only has happened to me only once, when I was a mere lad and I got the worst of it, not to mention a pink slip from an officer. One of the reasons I got me something Big. But now everyone is telling me Big is not always safe... all this help is going to start costing me money.
  18. Looking at buying my daughter a car to get her back and forth from school. I'll look at the Civic, being she is a new driver and safety is something dad and mom worry about. Hopefully 2002 - 2003 civics are rated equally as well.
  19. >Long time since I saw a Yugo. Nice red-herring there. Now, how about roll-overs? Yugo thing...yea, but I was hoping no one would notice, forgot you read these things. As far as them Roll overs, I try not to do them because I'm not like everyone else, I can't stand pain, it hurts me.
  20. >Sure, enjoy your legroom but please, the 'safer in an SUV' fable is *&%/3@. Want argue the point, but I bet my chances of survival from a side impact are better than the family in a Yugo, Kia, Saturn, Honda Civic.... Now the armored car, they don't get good gas milage thats why I did'nt buy one, but a great place to have put all my hard earned money.
  21. >Sorry, how does the price of a gallon of gas make a $5/10/15/20,000 car affordable again? Its called, hard work, self reliance, and the concept of saving. Most 20,000 cars are to small for my family, thats why I perfer the SUV. More room to strech out, but alot safer when a Yugo hits me from behind. As far as gas prices, yea there going up and putting the pinch on some families, but we Americans work hard not to be like everyone else in the world or at lest i'll say I do. People of the world make choices, some good some bad, America is not the worlds enemy although reading your thread does cause me to wonder. We do as a people reach out to the worlds hungry, help nations in times of national crisis and have spilled our blood to set nations free. Being a rich nation has allowed many Americans the opportunity to do more than less. But why would you want to see others suffer instead of reaching out with a helping hand. I believe your statements have told us alot about your character, that your not a very kind person. By the way, how do you respond to your wife in a time of trouble, hopefully it's not with the back of your hand.
  22. Yea, your right, it just felt good saying it, which I believe my mother would say...Two wrongs don't make a right. Bill, I've heard from several co-workers that there has been a prison that has taken hostages, possibly chrildren of gaurds who took there families to work for protection from the storm. Have you heared anything about this.
  23. >Shooting thieves....now that's proportionate justice. I agree, just the kind of justice in a time like this. A copter at 1,000 feet with a 50 Cal., they will be able to work several city blocks at a time. More bang for the buck.
  24. >you can go out a dog fight with the planes... Here in Texas it's called Combat USA...were you get the opportunity to fly with a former Combat Pilot and take on another aircraft. Video, Pictures included.
  25. Well I was planning on responding to your thread until I realized Bill would have to waste allot of precious Fossile Fuel to fly to Houston, look me up and bitch slap me. So for my own safety I'll remain silent.
