here they are. right before the contest i weighed in at 218.3, and one day last week i weighed 196.0 so i could say that i lost 22.3 pounds, but i won't. my official weight at the start was 215.0 and this morning i was at 201.0 for an official loss of 14 pounds. my weight tends to vary quite a bit over a short amount of time, probably depending on how hydrated/dehydrated i am. i've developed some habits that i have strayed from the last few weeks, but am getting back to and will stick to for the most part. the weight is coming off slow, but its coming off and i'm not killing myself. i visited my family in washington last weekend and several people said it looked like i had been lost weight since my last visit which makes my happy. i had a little fun with the pics. when's the deadline for posting pics? i just got home from a few days fishing, drinking beer, and eating fried food. (caught a 64 lb halibut). my weight can fluxuate several lbs over the course of a couple of days so i would like to choose the optimum time to take a pic. i didn't make a near the progress i wanted, but the difference can be seen. last year my three year old started crying for me when i came home from a day of hunting and told him that i didn't get a deer. i didn't know if he really understood what i was trying to do. when i did bring home a deer, i was aprehensive when i told him to come out and look at daddy's deer. i was worried that he might get upset when he saw that i had killed the deer. i was surprised when he got very excited and posed for pictures with the deer. he also watched as i skinned an quartered it. when i served it for dinner, he said "this is the deer that you shot daddy". he then took a bite and promply spit it out because he doesn't like deer meat. i'm sure that he doesn't fully understand the concept of death, but in a couple of years, i'm sure that he'll understand it better. what he won't be able to do is shoot a gun big enough to kill a deer. he'll be able to shoot a pellet gun and maybe a .22 under very controlled conditions, but i doubt he will be able to shoot at live game. i'm going to disagree with these scientist. here's my hypothesis: raising a human child takes a huge amount of resources. it would be very difficult for a mother to gather enoungh food, protect, and raise a child without help, therefore she needs to find a way to keep a male around so that she can nurture her offspring while he hunts and provides for the family. in caveman times, if he's not getting any, he's going to move on. in comes female orgasms and love. if the female gets to enjoy sex, she will have sex for fun. if the male is having a lot of sex, he's less likely to see what's in the next cave. love performs the same function, to keep the male around. there is also the physical function of the cervix dipping into the back of the vagina during orgasm, increasing the likelyhood of sperm getting into the uterus. both increasing the sperm in the uterus and working as a team instead of going solo, helps the proliferation of the species. i managed to track down the home builder and talk to him. he said that sometimes he gets a 20 foot beam and sometimes he get 2 ten foot beams and has to use a post. i could remove the existing two beams and replace it with one 20 footer, but the beam alone would cost about $600. is there another fix such as sandwiching the two ends between two pieces of steel and bolting them together? if i do anything it would be with the proper permits and inspections. i'm just trying to figure out if its worth it. a few hundred dollars, yes. a few thousand dollars, no. if it is done, it will be done right, otherwise me and a sawzall would have already taken care of it. i think the best i can hope for is that the beam that is in there is in two peices and can just be replaced with a one piece beam. things are never that easy though.
