great article, thank you for the link. emma is crate trained, but i've never thought about putting her in her crate when we leave for short periods. usually if i won't be gone long, i take her with me. now that the weather is cooler, i can leave her in the truck when i go into a store. you are absolutely right, she is just bored and lonely and trying to let somebody know. eventually i will get another dog, as well as take this one to obedience training. my wife is having a baby in the next week or two so another dog will have to wait. besides, emma is only 4 months old. i'm not ready to housebreak another one just yet. since my dog loves to tunnel out of the yard, i have to confine her to a 6x6 kennel when nobody is home. the problem is that i think she barks the whole time i'm gone. a shock collar is out of the question. a friend of mine has had very good luck with a citronella collar, but for half of the price i've found an ultrasonic thingy. does anyone have experience with these? is there another way to get her to stop barking? please supply this link. i have a hard time believing that gender is a factor. motherhood may be a factor though. i can see an employer giving fewer raises to the person who take maternaty leave, works less overtime, stays home with sick kids, leaves work early to pick kids up from school, daycare, or soccer practice, and misses work for doctor's appointments. don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with this, but this isn't the employers' problem. if this study compares men with childless women, then i stand corrected. Quotedaizey, you might beable to claim it under homeowners insurance (maybe) if not atleast save the laptops's hard drive to transfer your files..... i wouldn't recommend using insurence. i had $3000 worth of stuff stolen from my garage. after the deductable and depriciation(sp?), i got a check for $700. my insurence then went up $50 a year for the next 3 years. insurence companies and tsa can suck my balls after a long run and a big dump.
