Awesome movie

hmmm, I need to take my "little voice" back to the store or something - because he just keeps saying "no, no, no .." First solo is one you'll never forget. A lot more scary when you're alone. Changes the emotion of the jump completely. But remember to always "Phone a friend". Nice story, keep em coming J BASEstore.it

Inspiring story

Dammit Jarno, get your needle & thread out and sew the thing!! BASEstore.it

Hey Plamen, the landing a ws question is not an "if?" it is "when?"
-
Come on Plamen! We'll build you a big ramp on the edge of a tall cliff to start with and then repeat with smaller and smaller cliffs Until you don't "need" to use your parachute anymore BASEstore.it

Dude - "Dare to dream!!" BASEstore.it

You seem to know quite a bit about ski jumping! How long does it take to become a ski jumper? Couple of years, working up size of ramp gradually? We could all chip in and pay for 'bro's training, then he could test the effects of track pants / ws etc. BASEstore.it

I think for slowest in flight speeds you need to talk to a certain Scary dz.comer BASEstore.it

Now that is funny!!!

its a joke Is it me or is that guy humming it!? BASEstore.it

Ditto, I jump an atom classic for ws. A lot depends on how you deploy - by that I mean if you deploy from full flight (or with significant forward speed) you SHOULD have a "cornerless" rig, as the resulting deployment angle could cause the bag extraction problems (line twists etc.) If on the other hand you collapse your wings completely prior to deployment and wait a few seconds (therefore dissipating your forward speed) your deployment angle should be that of a normal "skydive", so no need for open corners. We can agree to disagree.

Robi hasn't fixed launch date yet, it will be in few months or so. If you come to the Z-Flock & Dock you can see one in the flesh. J BASEstore.it

The answer is easy - buy both! ;) Both give you good hang time if that is what rings your bell. For flocking and glide the SG will probably have less range though. I recommend you try both. J BASEstore.it

I use a Garmin Etrex Vista. Once setup you just have to turn it on - yes, just one button to press

You just want to stow the toggles so you can open your beer BASEstore.it

Hey Mariavon, have you measured the GR of the suit using GPS? j BASEstore.it

a 60sec from smelly is nice, but like someone already posted, it all depends on the glide ;) How long was his canopy ride btw? In global terms, people are doing 50+sec in track pants these days (ok from more than 3k) and WS is on the door of 2mins (but you need a glide 2.5+ to get the tude at these objects) BASEstore.it

Tom, you are right on the money. The armwing is the best (+ innovative) feature of the V-1. The wing is manufactured as a true 3D shape, with curved bottom skin and top skin, to achieve a predefined airfoil. You really see the difference when it is inflated and WOW you can feel the difference! It took Robi many many hours of work using CAD software (as used for modern canopy design). The result is a wing that is a joy to fly, it inflates naturally in the correct shape and you must relax a little and let the wing do the work. (As Perry wrote in his post). The AOA is fundamental to all flying Vector! btw. very interesting application of the word "wank" Jasmin, must remember that one.

I jumped the "white suit" in Norway, it was a one of the many working prototypes that Robi made in the past. Surpisingly little of the white suit went in to the V-1 design (Some features like dacron leading edges, mylar inserts were kept). Robi started over, completely redesigning the armwing (3D shape and AoA), legwing, back deflector, winglets, booties, cuffs, swoop chords, cutaway handles, etc etc. For direction on the S5 best ask Spont - he knows all the BM secrets BASEstore.it

The S3 is a high performance wingsuit but IMO this advice is overly cautious, an S3 does not require the "currency" of a highly loaded tri-brace canopy for example. Your performance will suck after a lay off but not your "safety".. BASEstore.it
