nothing has changed. they always could compel them to do whatever they wanted, and usually did, now they just know the laws they made are upheld and they can still do it. i see what you're saying, but it has always been like that. they can, and will, do whatever they want to do, this time with the court's blessing. tl;dr: scotus upholds 10th amendment.

i am pretty sure that you are interpreting the interpretation too widely. it only applied to whether the laws that states have forcing electors to vote for the popular winner was constitutional. it didn't go any further than that, like saying anything else about it. i am not a lawyer though, but have been following this one pretty closely. please correct me if i am wrong.

SCOTUS Unanimously Sides With CO, WA In ‘Faithless Electors’ Case
sfzombie13 replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
i understood it to mean that it upheld the state laws that mandated voting to match the popular vote, something that every state doesn't have. the rest of the electors are free to vote for whomever they wish absent the laws. -
it may also have to do with the amount of time. people have been using boats for thousands of years and planes for over a hundred. skydiving is relatively new and hasn't had time to mature so to speak. also there is also a much smaller base than other groups, except maybe hang gliding, i don't know about that but hang gliding came from flying not jumping. skydiving came from a very wild outlaw mentality originally and that also has a lot to go with it. there are many factors involved i would say. it is an interesting area of research, you should go further with it.

you're welcome. it's the least i can do since you're entertaining the hell out of me. -

the outlaws. fixed it for ya...that one linked to this page. -
if the prosecutor says they were exercising their 1st amendment rights, i would say that would not be considered trespassing, since she is a lawyer. they were marching to the mayor's house and are allowed to peacefully petition the mayor for a redress of their grievances. pretty sure you're right on the streets being private property from what i've read.

you've given me an idea. that's not good. i will apologize in advance for this one.

no, he didn't. read it again, i know the words are tricky in this case, but i can help. when he said "i can only conclude", that means that he personally can only conclude. one of the few words that have only one letter, and i know it's confusing, but it is a word and a letter. it means himself, only one person, etc. it does not mean that is the only possible conclusion, nor does it mean there are no alternatives. it means to him, there is only one conclusion.

he's smart enough to already know where i am. i make no attempt to hide it. unlike the times when i want to hide, then it's impossible to find any trace of me on the internet. sfzombie13 has it's own domain. i leave breadcrumbs leading there for those who are curious.

you mean people like me calling out putin and agent orange on twitter? not that i will stop, other than putin blocked me...i can still spell it.
-
how can you be? he is a traitor and everyone knows it but nobody seems to care. i am stunned that nothing is being done about it. i would love to see pence 25th agent orange.

you are correct and i am in no way advocating for op to try to find a deal like i got, just presenting an alternative which most folks fail to consider. i have a container i got that i can't use, but i only paid $100 for it, and it will go to use for a rig to use while trying parasailing this year, so it's not a total loss. i also have an extra main canopy that i got for $200 that was going to be a reserve until it didn't have a data card. if that had not been airworthy, we would be parasailing now. the best advice i would give for getting gutter gear is not to spend more than you can lose and have it inspected thoroughly before even thinking about using it.
-
i think you're missing the bigger picture here, and that is tandem passengers. how many of them are there who will get infected and take it around others? i have no idea how to count them, but i am sure someone does. not that i'm concerned, i have been to my dz every weekend for about two months and all seem to be taking every precaution they can while doing tandems in a 182. we don't have too many tandems coming in and it's mostly the same 10 folks i see every weekend. i hope we don't get it, but if we do, there was another box on the waiver we all signed this year...
-
i would disagree with a first rig, but that's just me. i got a rig for $500 with no aad, looked for the cheapest gear i could find since i won't have it too long. i can downsize a canopy in this container, then when i get ready to downsize again, i will get a container made for me, probably the only one since i'm 50. if i want to downsize again, i should be able to, but will probably choose not to. when i get rid of this container, i can give it away if it's still airworthy and not lose anything. now an aad i would only ever buy new, but i haven't reached the point where i want one of those yet.
-
now, i can buy a lot of things, but i cannot accept that they just forgot to tell the president this. i have heard that they stopped telling him some things, so maybe this is one of them, but it seems to me like this is a pretty important one that they would probably tell him. my first thought when i heard the story was that it sounds a lot like when we were doing the same thing to the soviets in afghanistan with bin laden. well almost the same thing. it seems that trump firing everyone who will disagree with him may be paying off now. that's probably the reason they didn't brief him.
-
ok, so what the hell happened to the topic? did i just see a typical gop tactic of change the subject? who could possibly accept the accusation that neither trump nor pence knew about it, when we know he gets a regular intelligence briefing? it's the closest he ever gets to intelligence, and it has been said he doesn't even pay attention. maybe that's why they don't know about it. between that, the ukraine fiasco, and selling out the kurds we have a pretty good list of treasonous activities committed since the impeachment. what do we have to wait for to remove this traitorous piece of shit?
-
nothing says the feds can't regulate it either. at least not that i have read.

what would go a long way towards reforming the system we have is mandating the ec to split the votes according to the percentages of the popular votes by state. not only would that eliminate the "swing states", it would go a long way towards getting more involved in the process if they thought they might actually be heard instead of just ruled.

it's relatively easy to have logs enabled on cameras to show when the power button is pressed. deliberately turning off a camera should be grounds for immediate dismissal. there are so many ways to handle this issue it is essentially just adherence to racist policies that is stopping progress. we have made some progress in the last 50 years, but not much. but hey, at least we don't have to look at that racist syrup any longer.
-
you're welcome, just hurry please. not too much, the story is awesome and doesn't need to be rushed so bad it suffers for it. and how do i get an invite to the dz?

his doctor told him it was safe. he asked if any skydivers had done it. i just read it again. unless when he put GP it means something other than general practitioner, or doctor as i understood it. i have slight back pain and skydive, as do a lot of folks i know. it is not completely random and worthless, it is accurate and valuable, since it answered the question. nor is it dangerous if you have a doctor who says it is not, as is the case here unless i misunderstood op.
-
he didn't ask for medical advice and specifically stated his doctor (i assumed that gp meant general practitioner) gave him the ok which is why i answered. he was asking for advice from folks who have had his problem. the only advice i would accept about jumping from planes would be from skydivers, not doctors who have never jumped. or from pilots who fly them, depending on the advice, such as weight and balance.

i caught another one. in part 7, you used insure instead of ensure. common mistake and some are even saying it is interchangeable, but i'm old school. i can't wait to see what happens. sounds like a great place to hang out.

i've got an old harness that i can't use. what type of setup would one need to start testing something like this? i could probably find out through searching, but if anyone has a starting point it helps. i wanted to become a rigger anyway, may as well start with a project. worst case scenario i fail and learn something in the process.
