  1. He is saying that he thinks he'll die if he lands on a loaded reserve in half brakes unconscious...and he might be right. But his odds of dieing with nothing out are even higher... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  6. National Geographic Extreme yesterday had a dude doing his 1st BASE jump off a large waterfall in Venezuela. On exit he immediately went head down, deployed unstable, opened into line twists which he couldn't kick out of in time, landed in the talus and broke his leg. Bet he wished he was PCA'd off a legal span his first time... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  7. Sell it. It will cost you less to rent gear 3 or 4 times a year then it does to keep the Cypress batteries and reserve in date...and my friend Mr Murphy just informed me that those days you do decide to jump will be 2 days after your reserve is out of date. If you are going to be that non-current, the last thing I would do is shit can my Cypress...but that's just my opinion. Congrats on the lil one. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  10. I misunderstood you...since you are checking your spot (I had to check the spot on AFF1). You probably shouldn't be looking at the ground in freefall now. You should be looking at: the horizon, your alti, your instructor and repeat. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  11. Um, how do you check the spot? Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  12. Agreed, this is how I've seen them run. Tracking group out first (unless there is the rare skysurfer), immediately going to a heading perpendicular to the jump run. Our DZ's exit order: 1. CRW/High Altitude Clear and Pulls get a seperate, offset first pass. 2. Skysurfers (because they take up so much friggin room) 3. Tracking 4. Lrg. Belly 5. Sml. Belly 6. Lrg Freefly 7. Sml Freefly 8. 13. If you had a supercharger on this truck you would already have a vacuum/boost gauge and a fuel pressure gauge installed...it would have made this diagnosis much easier Every think your truck is merely shitting at the price of gas? Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  15. I just thought about this...have you disconnected the battery overnight? If the battery is disconnected for several hours it will reset your computer...it's a good thing to do after a tuneup. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  16. I had an LS1 SS Camaro. It was fast. It had a nice transmission. It took six hours to change the spark plugs... Replacing the clutch was over 600 bucks... But when the sloenoids opened on that 150 shot of giggly.... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  17. When was the last time you replaced your fuel filter? It would have been one of the first things to check...so maybe you've already done it. Fuel pumps themselves USUALLY just die...but you never know. You should replace the PCV valve and grommet and adjust timing just because you've done a full tune up anyways. Did you replace the air filter with an oiled version (K&N)? If you put them on too oily they will foul up the Mass Air Flow sensor. Clogged injectors? Clogged catalytic converters? Been a while since I had my 5.0 Cobra...my Ford familiarity has diminished. Does that thing have a cap and rotor? Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  18. Sometimes I really get sick of our Newport Beach weather. I mean, its 85 degrees today, totally sunny, 25% humidity, the skies are beautiful and blue and there is no smog to be seen. We have had .01" of rain in the month to date. It gets old being able to crash on a lounge chair by the pool for a couple of hours, occasionaly jumping into the warm water to refresh. It was terrible walking on the beach last night @ 10PM in shorts and bare feet and the chilling 73 degree temps... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  21. My girlfriend is in a Masters Physician Asst. program. Her school also has a vet and a DO program. DO school is definately shorter...but mostly the same rights are given as an MD. A DO is SUPPOSED to have a more holistic approach...in theory. Don't think this is really the case though. My girlfriend is doing rotations right now...at the moment with a Family Practice DO. In my girlfriends opinion, her preceptor (the DO) is the worst health professional she's ever been around. Has no holistic approach. Just gives people pills and bills the insurance company...doesn't give a shit about her patients. This DO is a drug companies wet dream. And an ill persons worst nightmare. 22. Relative Workshop has endorsed the Vigil. Bill Booth has one installed on his rig. I would like to hear the reasoning behind his decision...as he is probably much more informed than anyone else on this board. The Cypress 2 is water resistant...that was my deciding factor as some beach jumps are definately in my future. Waterproof Vigils have a slated release date of December...but who knows if they'll be able to hold that schedule. I'd bet the whole Adrian thing has Vigil/AAD doing some re-evaluating of their own right now. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
