    I had lasik done in 1997 as my contacts kept blowing out of my eyes in delta's & the like. Spent 1 week on the ground & started jumping again - going on 11 years now & no deterioration, so can't say that I damaged my eyes by getting back in the air too quickly...

    Psycho packing - great for getting your d-bag into small containers & sweet openings. Great, that is, until one day you turn the canopy wrong way round after rolling it... Add a Jedei to the equation and you have a 4000' spiral before the canopy's flying normal... Thank God for opening high when testing new canopies Leaving the nose out as mentioned previously should help. Another tip would be to not pull the slider forwards, i.e. in front of the nose.     Linetwists causing a back injury? Nope, nevre experienced or heard of it. Question might be what happened before opening. Could something besides packing have caused the linetwists? Did you have an exceptionally hard opening? Funny body position just before opening? I have a degenerating disc between L4-5 & between some extreme openings including 2 LT spirals have never attributed pain in my lower back to openings. Used to jump a Peregrine (SA version of Excalibur) - a 7 cell tribrace that WHACKS on opening & still no problems. "Stepping down" on landing can screw you up pretty good though. That is if there's an existing problem... Anyhoo - hope you feel better soon. Don't let it put you off for too long!

That said, Chuck: I was involved in an accident where two people (on one bicycle) died. I tried to help the one girl(she was 19 yrs old) & couldn't save her. You can talk to clergy, you can try talking to the family. If you're lucky, they won't blame you. I wasn't that lucky... End of the day this is something terrible that happened & we don't have time machines to go back & prevent it. Say sorry to yourself & love yourself again. You'll never forget, but you can, eventually, live with it. Friends surrounding you, caring for & supporting you is the only therapy. Doing what you do & have done would indicate to me there're many of those around

    Hi Peter, Just got an update that the trust has grown by R11,470.00 (+- $1600). Funds will also be coming from the closing pins that Jaye (ACMESkydiver) is having made ( last chance to place your order ) Any update on when this thread's funds will be transferred?
