I agree....but I think the issue is that he should have known that it would fuel the scum to call them for what they are. People in public positions need to watch what they say for their words can result in action by others. That's what he's being blasted for. Not for being insensitive to scum, rather for fueling the problem with his choice of words.

Yes. Condoms and birth control are real things. They exist. Teaching about things that exist is not wrong and shouldn't change what they were taught at home. Now if the school starts saying advocating pre-marital sex with condoms, that's a different story.

I do? Not at all. Just pointing out that your propaganda is not new, it's been around the block a few times. I enjoy debating view points and I learn things from opposing points of view. But regurgitation of talking points from pundits is a waste of time.

I'd avoid the whole topic with him. Tell him that you're not interested and that if he pushes it it will straing the relationship. If you start debating it with him it WILL strain the relationship.

I agree. But you can't say that every person that has been infected has been tracked by the WHO. All I'm saying is that claiming a 50% mortality rate is bogus. And as to the post above, same thing. Maybe when it mutates so it can go person to person, it's also less severe. The only claim I'm making is that those saying there's an imminent chance of a pandemic that will cause a 50% fatality rate are propagating baseless scare tactics.

Ummm....that was sarcasm in response to your comment that if kids are intelligent and work hard they won't have a problem so nothing needs to change. The point is, they aren't all intelligent, so education needs to be adjusted for those less intelligent. And you're the one that keeps going back to race. We're talking about cultural differences. -

How about you take the fact that the disease is present in a large portion of Asia. So, that's what, about a billion and a half people in the regions where the disease is present? Then you've got what, about 25 deaths. There you go, base your stats on that. Not quite as scary that way, but I guess that's the point.

Try reeading what I said about cultural bias before you label me as a racist. Nice try at twisting things around though. Recognizing how cultural differences may impede the learning process is realistic, not racist. Pretending there's no probem is ignorant. -

My bro got diagnosed with Leukemia about a year ago. Caught it at a physical because of white cell count. They put him on some new chromosomal therapy pills that elliminate the mutated cells in your bone marrow without harming the normal ones. He had some side effects the first couple weeks, but it's been about a year and his blood tests have all come back normal and he's never shown any symptoms of the disease. The stuff is amzaing these days. Not to get political but big thanks for the chromosomal meds goes out to the stem cell researchers of the world.

Yup, of course this time I now have..."is you is or is you aint my baby" stuck in my head. And cant remember for the life of me which cartoon that is from. Tom and Jerry. One of the few times you hear Tom's voice. He was in a junkyard band with a bunch of other alley cats, wearing a zute suit and singing that to his girl. I think Jerry ended up with the girl. No, I haven't seen it recently...no idea how I remember this shit (and not what i had for breakfast).

...about a dozen of them. 6 or so at each temple (that I've plucked out so far ). I just got a hair cut today, came home and looked in the mirror. That's messed up. On the pluss side, they weren't gray, rather pure white, and none of my other hair is falling out. My dad had a full head of pure white hair in his mid thirties..guess i'm a chip off the block. I just can't get my mind around a guy with white hair clearing the mosh pit (3 times) on NIN last Saturday. To be fair though, my advanced age helped. I learned to mosh at Anthrax, Flotsam and Jetsam, S.O.D. and Slayer concerts. These disaffected goth kids at NIN didn't know what him 'em.

But we don't need to claim that statistics based on imcomplete data are accurate either. 100% of the women I've dated have been completely nuts. Does that mean that all women are nuts? Wait...bad example....
